The Cat Inn is a 16th century free house set in the picturesque village of West Hoathly, a hilltop village set in the heart of the Sussex countryside. It is in within easy distance from the towns of East Grinstead and Haywards Heath and only 25 minutes from Gatwick Airport.

The Pub with its oak beams and two inglenook fireplaces proffers a warm and cosy atmosphere in the winter, whilst our terrace is perfect to enjoy a drink and food in the summer months. Being a free house we pride ourselves in the quality of our real ale, and concentrate on local breweries, such as Harvey's of Lewes and other micro breweries. Our food is cooked to order, using fresh, seasonal and where possible locally sourced ingredients. Our menus change on a regular basis and we also offer a small selection of seasonal specials on a daily basis.

We welcome children over the age of 7. Dogs are welcome in the "pub" area of the Cat, they are not permitted in the dining room

The Cat Inn is a really fantastic place for a meal out with friends. The pub is a pretty old building that’s full of character. We went on a Saturday evening so it was very busy with a buzzing atmosphere but not so much so that it was noisy. The service was attentive & each staff member was super friendly & efficient. The food was beautifully presented & absolutely delicious! We would highly recommend a visit to this excellent pub!!

A GREAT LUNCH, FOOD ,WINE AND SERVICE IT WAS A LITTLE QUIET AS WE WERE THE ONLY ONES IN THE RESTAURANT BUT THAT MADE NO DIFFERENCE TO OUR ENJOYMENT . WELL DONE AMI HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

The lunch time experience was overall very positive, the only thing that could have been improved would have if we had been able to sit in one of the booths……next time we will try to request one when we book.

We wish to thank Elle our waitress for the wonderful Customer Service received, we visited the Ivy Chichester on Thursday l2th September at 12.30pm for lunch. A beautiful restaurant, elegant & fabulous. We were a party of 6 celebrating my daughters Graduation at Chichester Cathedral. The food was excellent and the ambience. Elle was very professional, friendly, polite and attentive and gave my daughter complimentary profiteroles to take home as she was full following the 2 course 1917 lunch. Many thanks Dawn & Martin Maughan Bournemouth Our thanks to the staff and chef for a wonderful food and service.

Anniversary dinner. Great service from friendly happy staff. Decent paced delivery of food and drinks & did not feel rushed. Food was beautiful- had the Seabass 'Choo-Chee' followed by Lemon Baked Alaska - both were amazing! The evening was made extra special by the stunning sunset and the little celebration cake/desert from Perch, which was a nice touch. Would definitely recommend and will be back! Thank you
