Head chef Darren Broom's passion lies in producing food with an unmistakable sense of terroir. For Darren, provenance is not just the backstory to his ingredients, it’s everywhere in the look, feel and taste of his food.

The nineteenth century former oxen house is the newest addition to the family of meticulously restored farm buildings. A state-of-the-art piece of agricultural architecture at its conception, Caryn Hibbert worked meticulously to preserve the soaring archways and original Cotswold stone rubble walls, to now house a modern, dining destination - including a contemporary bar and seven and a half metre Charvet open kitchen - to allow for an authentic, heritage-rich dining experience, enabled by today’s best culinary technologies.

We ate outside in the wonderful garden on one of the rare fine days this Summer. This is a fabulous setting, complemented by excellent service and superb food. Yes, it is expensive but this quality must come at a price. We are lucky enough to be local and will be back soon.

Love this place and the food is alway great, been coming back time and again. My only gripe is the service charge added to the bill, something a lot of places do now and it’s annoying. You have to ask to have it removed. This is not America, if I want to leave a tip, then I will and I will decide how much and if I don’t then so be it. It’s not the cheapest place anyway. I work hard myself in my job and I don’t get tips!. I know all the reasons (excuses) for doing so but it’s the employer’s responsibility to look after their staff. That aside, I highly recommend it…best thing about the food dock!. Don’t forget to check out their cocktail lounge too.

Scones were delicious, very generous with clotted cream. Lots of little cakes available. Would have preferred less sandwiches and had different savoury bits instead. Customer service was faultless; everyone was warm, welcoming and professional. A really lovely experience, would recommend to others.
