About the restaurant
Welcome to the Butchers Arms.

Our 16th century Public House is situated on Lime Street in the parish of Eldersfield near Gloucester.

The Butchers Arms is first and foremost a rural pub, where the bar is the hub of life, with low ceilings, wooden floors, roaring fires and real ale served straight from the cask.

The food is British and we source only the finest ingredients from local suppliers. The menu constantly changes according to what is in season.

Please note that as it is a small pub and we are unable to cater for children under the age of 10.

This is our second visit within a few weeks but was slightly disappointing as the menu has changed to the autumn/winter menu and the vegetarian options appear to have decreased. A few of the options were not available and the emphasis seems to be towards spicier food, which for me , limits my choices. Saying that, the staff are exemplary in their helpfulness and enthusiasm and cannot be faulted.

A really good evening. A warm welcome on arrival and excellent, friendly service throughout. This is much, much more than a pub restaurant. It has a few pub "classics" on the menu bt a good choice of more exciting dishes. All the dishes were beautifully presented and well executed. Would definitely recommend - we will be back

Fish platter was excellent. As was the garlic mushrooms and fish Goujons. Shame that the main special of lamb hot pot and the pie of the day were sold out by 17.30. But the fish pie , sausage and mash and burgers were fabulous alternatives.
