When you come to Opheem, you get an insight into the inner workings of my mind. We’re striving to push the boundaries with Indian flavours, but with cooking techniques from all over the world, some traditional, and some very modern. At Opheem, I’ll be using the same paints as I’ve always done, to create a very different picture, on a very, very different canvas. Why? Because to evolve and adapt is what makes us human, and cooking is what sets us apart from the animals.

Meet and greet perfect. Journey from door to exit was only let down by having to wait some time afterwards for our petite fours and drinks which was a shame as everything else was sublime.

Attention to detail is in every little touch here at Cucina Rustica, from the single rose placed on each table to the complementary olives produced on every guest's arrival. Equally, food is produced with great care, dishes traditionally Italian but done with flair and a certain amount of style, some unusual choices offered alongside classic favourites, all from the classic Italian cookbook and accompanied by a wide array of drinks.

Excellent restaurant with great service and food. Not the cheapest place to eat but well worth it as food was excellent. I had the prawns to start followed by fillet steak. Both excellent and well sized portions. Very enjoyable evening helped by the great service.Surprised the restaurant wasn’t busier for a Friday evening.

Set in a gorgeous Grade II-listed Georgian villa, the decor is bright and modern but respects the building’s elegance and heritage.

The food, too, respects classical tradition, but is a contemporary take on British cuisine - combining influences from around the world in dishes based on fabulous impeccably sourced seasonal ingredients.

Enjoy an aperitif in one of the elegant lounges in the older part of the building before moving on to the sleek restaurant with its blonde wood beams, exposed stone walls and bi-fold doors opening onto the garden.

The knowledge and experience of Head Chef Luke Tipping shows through in the assured, confident nature of the cooking – and he has the skill to know when to hold back. Dishes are balanced and pure, with subtle modern touches and a pleasing clarity of flavour; be sure to try the signature tapenade bread rolls and delicious soufflés.

Service is enthusiastic and brims with personality.

Had the 7 course tasting menu as part of a celebration, taking my wife and two sons (22 and 25) to a Michelin start restaurant for the first time; they were all bowled over by the experience. We were all made to feel very comfortable from start to finish, and every course was memorable - standout dishes for us were the snacks, the turbot cooked in goat's cheese butter (unlikely but it worked so well) and the set lobster custard with imperial caviar. Every other course was wonderful too, though. Service was prompt and efficient without being intrusive. Very happy to recommend and hope to pay a return visit.

Rapido I explained to the waiting staff that we were running late for a concert and that we would appreciate it if they could help with the service. They duly turned the courses round with speed and precision. Food was excellent, service outstanding. all helped to kick the evening off with great satisfaction. Intend to visit again and ensure we have ample time to fully enjoy the Piccolino experience.
