We booked a table inside but decided to eat out in the garden. The views are amazing and there is plenty of room to have your dog on a long lead. The food is excellent and the staff are very friendly. A first choice restaurant to take friends when they visit. It gets very busy so would always recommend booking.
A photo of Rocky Bottoms restaurant
4.6 (1451)
£26 to £40
About the restaurant
Rocky Bottoms started out as an 1800s brick kiln with a purpose to fire bricks. Eventually the brick kiln was unable to compete with larger competitors and closed down after WW2. Since this time the brick kiln has offered itself as agricultural storage until it collapsed and stood derelict.

In 2008 the brick kiln’s potential and need of restoration was spotted by local fishing family; The Matthews. After years of love and attention, Rocky Bottoms, as we know it today was born. Our doors opened in May 2015, just in time for the start of the crab season. We deliver local shellfish from pot to plate in a laid back environment. Rocky Bottoms believes in enjoying the simpler things in life!

Rocked our socks off! What an amazing experience from the welcome to the farewell. Ambiance and space was great. Choice in the menu was awesome. Great choice of specials along with their lunch menu. We shared the salt & pepper squid then followed that with the warm half lobster, 1 Thai style and 1 garlic. They were mouth-wateringly good. Presentation was great. We finished with a lemon posset and a crème brule, again both amazing. Service was fantastic. I really can’t recommend this place enough. Awesome isn’t worthy of our experience.

A delicious meal as always. It was our first chance to have some of the new menu items…stand out dish of the evening was the fried corn niblets with bacon salt! We are still talking about them this morning! Lemon and raspberry pavlova was also super tasty!! Can’t wait to come back!
