We had the smaller of the 2 taster menus and found each course to be excellent. There were some interesting combinations, but everything on each plate was there for a reason and not for decoration. We all left the restaurant full, so not a case of style over substance. The wine/drinks list was also good, with some excellently priced wines to complement the food. The staff were friendly and attentive without being annoying. They explained each course and were happy to talk to us and answer questions.

Wine Bar
Newcastle upon Tyne
About the restaurant
Part wine bar, part restaurant, a city centre venue with a city centre buzz. St. Vincent is an after-work drinks spot, supper-with-friends place and general 'snack-with-a-glass-or-two' hang out with a big-hearted 'everybody welcome' attitude.

Inspired by the neighbourhood bars we've found on our travels through France and Italy, we offer interesting wines, charcuterie and crowd pleasing plates full of punchy flavours. We're a place where an hour spins into several without anyone noticing.

Open evenings Tuesday to Friday, all day Saturday and close late.

Enough said. Come and find out.

This special event was fabulous. First time there, (recommended by regulars). We loved the food, and the wines, and the presentation too. Parting gifts were a nice idea, and as I have a 'Sorrento' corner on my half landing and we were celebrating our 2 year anniversary together it is good to have something to keep. Sadly we forgot to ask someone to take photos of us. The only problem was the noise level as the restaurant was absolutely full to capacity and my partner is hard of hearing, but it did not spoil the evening.

I have Razor clams every time I go, but unfortunately on this occassion the clams were not cleaned sufficiently and I could taste grit & sand, also the clams are very delicate and are easily overcooked as they were on this occassion which gives them a rubbery texture and spoils the taste. I would normally recommend the Saltwater Fish company but on this occassion I cant.
