An intimate Michelin Guide restaurant based in the heart of Masham - the gateway to The Yorkshire Dales. Listed after just 6 months of opening and having garnered many great write ups subsequently including a rare 5/5 in the Yorkshire Post.

The menu is written weekly, a fixed 7 course set menu (+ optional extras) that constantly evolves based on the best available produce. Sourced from a network of local artisan growers and farmers the aim is to put the best of the UK to your plate with a big focus on the surrounds of North Yorkshire.

Chef Jon Atashroo trained at numerous Michelin starred restaurants in London before discovering the simply joy of cooking with fire about 10 years ago and hasn't looked back since. Focused on producing everything possible in house, it is all made in house including the tables and ceramics.

Known for its wines (its name is a wine term after all!) as well as its food, it has garnered an enviable reputation amongst the towns sophisticated 'foodies'. The Tannin Level has a certain style and an unmistakable elegance, and its many original features combine to create the unique Tannin Level ambience.
The food is modern British with a Tannin Level twist, utilising only the very best seasonal ingredients, locally sourced wherever possible. Dining at The Old Deanery is an immersive experience, and you move through the building as you dine. Arrive into the cosy welcome lounge for pre-dinner drinks; chat, get comfortable, and relax – there will be no classical piano and hushed tones in here! Move through to the bar where you can watch some of the chefs work before they invite you to take your first course. The main event takes place in the restaurant, but forget white tablecloths and stilted service; the food may be formal but the atmosphere is not. Finally, you can retire after dinner to a cosy chair and enjoy a coffee and petits fours. Stay the night and enjoy views of either the lovely garden, or striking Cathedral. Then wake to a home-made breakfast board of granola, yoghurt, continental bites, and cooked goodness: A breakfast with a difference and the best way to sign off your stay.
