We went to the Alcove to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The food was excellent starting with the appetizers. We chose the baby octopus & the goat cheese tart. Both were absolutely delicious. The octopus was so tender it felt like it could melt in your mouth. We both chose a fish entry & both were wonderful. For desert we had the bread pudding and the flourless chocolate. Delicious choices though everything on the menu looked amazing. We will definitely go back!

Excellent food and service on a really nice, enclosed back patio. This will be one of my new favorite spots.

The Franklin Room celebrates the sense of connection one can only find in the neighborhood taverns of Chicago. Offering classic American tavern fare and no shortage of whiskey flair, our sophisticated speakeasy is your local go-to for quality meat dishes, fresh seafood, classic cocktails and the neighborhood tavern experience our city has perfected.

It's perfectly complimented by our beverage program, which showcases creative cocktails and a meticulous selection of spirits, wine and beer with a strong focus on independent distillers and limited-edition rare releases. Bring them together and you've got a uniquely Chicagoan experience, centuries in the making.

Everything about our experience was wonderful. Very professional staff at front door. Every interaction with staff while at our table was excellent! We were unfortunately sitting where the AC made all four of us absolutely freezing. They offered us temp adjustment and when that wasn’t enough, they offered us pashminas. Once we were warm we were able to enjoy the phenomenal food. I don’t know if we could pick a favorite from all that we ordered. Will definitely return.

Really an outstanding meal in a beautiful environment and reasonably priced given all that we tried. The homemade tuna ceviche with plantain chips was exquisite, the snap pea salad was recommended by our server and was my favorite item, the coal roasted sweet potato was OMG good. I'd probably not order the ribs again, just a tad messy and just OK. We had the soft serve coconut ice cream with chocolate which was divine. There were quite a few bar seats, I'd definitely go there again even by myself. Really really good.

Simply delicious! Service was outstanding and did not feel rushed. Enjoyed an old fashioned followed by their bang, bang cauliflower. Sea bass was cooked to perfection ! Highly recommend.
