I like the dim lights. It was a little cold in there for myself, but not a deal breaker. Service was prompt and there wasn't a long wait for anything really and the drinks were great! I had the ribeye and although the steak was cooked perfectly mid-rare it did lack seasoning. My wife had salmon and was satisfied. A little pricey considering but all in all I'd go back.

We come to Cafe Farina to eat the very best Italian cuisine this side of Chicago! The service is always attentive and personal. The portions are more than expected at a fair price. It’s a 50 minute drive for us but it’s well worth the travel time. Love this place!

A native of Italy, and fluent in five languages, Chef Gaetano Ascione brings international flair to Munster, with experience, teaching, owning restaurants, consulting, and running hotels on four continents – Asia, Europe, Africa and North America. He served both Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan as Chef de Cuisine at the Georgetown Club in Washington, D.C., and served as Executive Chef for the Inaugural Banquet for President Nelson Mandela in South Africa.

He is a member of the Confrérie de la Chaîne des Rôtisseurs 1248-1950, the American Culinary Federation, and the Gruppo Virtuale Cuochi Italiani. Ascione was a finalist in the “Chef of the Year” competition at the World Gourmet Summit in Singapore in 2001.

Ok I have not been to a restaurant locally where I felt transported to the homeland of the cuisine that they serve. The food was ABSOLUTLEY of this world. My friend and I had Pan Seared Mussels in white wine sauce, (2 orders to be exact because they taste so amazing) Lamp Lollipops for appetizers. Then the Rigatoni Vodka but I added 1 Italian sausage, Bone-in Ribeye with a side of Broccollini which was large enough share. The martini's were amazing and the service was absolutely excellent. I thoroughly look forward to becoming a regular here.
