As always, dinner at Founders was exceptional—the menu was exciting and excellent, the service impeccable, the atmosphere relatively quiet for conversation. It’s a memorable experience, one that we look forward to every summer. The extensive bar and cocktail possibilities are unique esp. for the area it serves. They deserve a Michelin star.

The location was nice, but still casual, so not stuffy at all which we appreciated. Like many reviews have said the style in which is the food is family style so the plates are meant for sharing. I personally appreciated this and enjoyed it, but others may not. They do and will offer “small” size versions of many items but not all. When you order make sure the wait staff are clear on what you want 1/2 orders of and what you want full. We thought we were clear but it turns out that we were not. They also have a nice cocktail menu, it is small but the choices we felt were a nice variety and the combinations made it hard for us to narrow down which we were going to choose. Another note, although we did not have desert, one of the co-owners is reportedly an award winning pastry chef, so it may be worth going back to enjoy the deserts. One con for me was that not all menu items actually listed all primary ingredients. The only item that we actually wanted a full size portion of, and was the item I was looking forward to, contained an ingredient which represented about 25%of the dish that I truly can not eat and while I tried to pick it out, the flavour was strongly present. I would go again as the other items were really good and different from the norm. The other item I would add, is that as the plates are served family style I would also pass comment to the wait staff on how you wanted it served. We had 2 plates as “starters” and after they were gone the others followed. I enjoyed this as it allowed us to experience the different dishes as they each really do stand alone. The table beside us had 1 plate to start (focaccia) but then when others came the appeared to all sort of come on top of each other. Perhaps with different choices than we had it may be preferred, but as we were not asked I would recommend you state your preferences as after all it is your evening out.

Not a huge menu, which I prefer, as it means they do what they do well. Pizza size is just right for one and all three of us enjoyed our selections--the vegetarian options are so good even the carnivores went for them. Service was friendly and prompt without being intrusive. A true gem hidden in the trending section of the North End!

My husband had the tenderloin steak, which was done perfectly, and I had the delicious Vegetarian Power Bowl. The hostess and server were very friendly and the ambiance was very good. We will definitely be returning.

Truly delicious food. Every single dish was fantastic. We had mackerel, sardines, halloumi, calamari, octopus, beef tenderloin kebab and the 1/2 chicken.
