Baia is always a dependable choice while in Barbados. The view is stunning, the breezes are delightful. Staff is attentive but not annoying. The guac is always a must have - made at your table. They tend to have some different fish choices which is nice and the menu is a little more adventurous for the west coast. Would definitely put it on your list if you are a first timer to Barbs.

I was looking for somewhere to dine with my husband when I saw Driftwood on Instagram. The restaurant was as beautiful as the food, and the staff was friendly and courteous. I definitely would revisit, it's worth every penny.

Sitar is a gem quality Indian find in Holetown. Looks simple yet charming. Armed with the pallet from a recent trip to the two-Michelin star Gymkhana in London, Anton and I sat at the patio (that could be covered from rain), the ambiance was sublime. The menu is quite vast for a small place, and you have to wonder between the main menu and specialty dishes. Too me samosa is a yardstick, served around the world, it seems to be a no-brainer to find a balance between the right crispiness in the pastry and the texture of the filling, yet as is with the hole-in-one, only few surprise; Sitar has a divine chicken samosa, coming in 4 pieces. Our appetizers also included chickpeas masala and side eggplant, both beautifully spiced. For the seconds, we wanted something exceptional, and to compare it to Gymkhana. With the lamb, a protein of our choice for the night, we opted for Biriyani and Roghan, accompanied with all the condiments and garlic naan. The side sauce in Biriyani made all the difference emphasizing the complex curry pallet. It is yummy in its own right, and while Gymkhana's Biriyani has some other twists to it, Sitar stood its ground. Bigger surprise awaited us with Roghan Gosht, by far the best dish we tried. The lamb was surreally tender with the flavorsome spices, not overbearing, almost elegant if you can apply it to such a rich dish. Portions were perfect size for sharing; and service was fantastic. You know the gem if you find one. Thank you Sitar team for a wonderful evening. We will be back.

About the restaurant
Built in the 1800 as a very modest Bajan home, Dis Ole House is now living its best life hosting people to take part in our wonderful island’s culinary flavors. We offer a very stark contrast to the much grander Sam Lord's Castle at whose gates we are neatly nestled. We provoke curiosity and experiences where little touches like our enamel tableware will make any Bajan smile with yesteryear nostalgia. The area itself is nostalgic; Sam Lord himself must have roamed here, right? We’re proud promoters of all “tings” Bajan, celebrating our ancestors, history, and culture. Come drink a rum punch (or two--who are we to judge?) and try our very traditional dishes: cutters, fish cakes, roast breadfruit, or our national dish, Cou Cou & Flying Fish. We boast as a seafood lover's paradise, Lobster, Conch, Sea Cat (octopus), and Sea Egg (seasonal) are all among our fresh local offerings, grilled, pickled, and blacken the Bajan way.
