This place is a great find! Excellent food. My pork chop was perfect and the ribs were also amazing. Even the kids’ spaghetti and meatballs was delicious. I have a hard time finding really good food in St. George. It is full of chains and super expensive places. We will happily come out to Hurricane and return here over and over.

The food was wonderful and the view was spectacular. My only regret is that we were at the Open Sky resort two nights and this restaurant was only open one of those nights. We loved everything we ordered. The service was great.

St. George
About the restaurant
A culinary island in Southern Utah, the Painted Pony brings a touch of class--and intriguing flavors--to St. George. The restaurant, tucked away in Ancestor Square, is exceptionally clean and cozy, with contemporary art, fresh flowers, and -- in the evening -- a top notch romantic atmosphere with subdued lighting and patio dining.

If your surroundings don't clue you in, your first glance at the menu will. Painted Pony is not your standard fare. Contemporary American cuisine evidently doesn't mean just another good steakhouse, and the simply written food descriptions promise something new and intriguing for your palate.

The Painted Pony has perfected the fine art of using fresh ingredients and delicate flavoring. An exceptional wine list, generous portions, attentive service, and reasonable prices will convince you to return to "the Pony" anytime you're in St. George.

There are great servers at this restaurant. We went for a girlfriend's dinner, and the food was excellent. The atmosphere is cozy, intimate, and comfortable. The Tenderloin was perfect. The bread wasn't anything to write home about, but the rest of the meal was delicious. We heard afterward (from others) that we should have tried the Brie appetizer, so now we have a reason to return!

We went to Sego’s for dinner after reading the great reviews. We wanted an escape from all the tourists in Zion and I heard about the little town of Kanab. It was a beautiful one hour drive away. We had a fabulous dinner. I suspect everything is really good. We got the shrimp, duck, and something like corn fritters. All were excellent. Young man who was hosting was super friendly and answered our questions about Kanab.

We were greeted at the door by Marissa, a lovely hostess. Our meal was delicious…. we shared the salad mista with Italian vinaigrette, and spaghetti and meatballs. For desert, we shared the chocolate cake. The service was excellent and we would patronize this restaurant if we lived in town. They even gave us a military discount which was much appreciated by my husband. Thank you!

Will was a great server - very attentive. My fiancé and I started with jalapeño poppers, that were just okay - we’ve had better. We split the cowboy ribeye and a baked potato with veggies. The veggies were cooked to perfection, the baked potato was great (hard to mess up a baked potato), the steak was cooked properly but didn’t have a whole lot of flavor - perhaps not much seasoning?? It was a cute little place with reasonable prices.
