We love coming here as much as possible. Not many good restaurants in the area. We always recommend Shelby as he is our favorite server and very attentive and quite frequently remembers how we like our food. I can say not many servers are like him at any restaurant. Thank you Shelby for always being the best.

St. George
About the restaurant
A culinary island in Southern Utah, the Painted Pony brings a touch of class--and intriguing flavors--to St. George. The restaurant, tucked away in Ancestor Square, is exceptionally clean and cozy, with contemporary art, fresh flowers, and -- in the evening -- a top notch romantic atmosphere with subdued lighting and patio dining.

If your surroundings don't clue you in, your first glance at the menu will. Painted Pony is not your standard fare. Contemporary American cuisine evidently doesn't mean just another good steakhouse, and the simply written food descriptions promise something new and intriguing for your palate.

The Painted Pony has perfected the fine art of using fresh ingredients and delicate flavoring. An exceptional wine list, generous portions, attentive service, and reasonable prices will convince you to return to "the Pony" anytime you're in St. George.

Although their inside seating is very nice and has great ambiance, their outdoor patio is perfect for outdoor lunch dining. The patio is up high, so you feel as if you are in a tree house. It is a magical setting with a wonderful outdoor ambiance. Painted Pony's lunch is the best deal in town. It is not inexpensive, but it is a good value for the excellent service, food quality, and selection. BTW, I am sure their patio also offers a lovely outdoor dinner experience. We happened to enjoy sitting out and enjoying the afternoon.

First time in, and I’d absolutely go back. The service was friendly and the food was top notch. We had the burrata for a starter, and it was the best I’ve had. Presentation and taste were wonderful. The house special, spaghetti carbonara, was finished at the table, and also incredibly good.

Basalt is a cut above. Ambience and views are stunning. Food is flavourful and imaginative. But the highlight was our server, Tee. She was so caring, knowledgeable, and incredibly funny. For the full, second-to-none experience at Basalt, be sure to request Tee as your expert server.

My good friends from LA, Reno and Sarasota all met me at Latitude for weekend brunch. The service was fantastic and food was also very tasty. We ordered the avo toast, club salad, chia pudding, short rib sandwich, steak and eggs, hamburger and deviled eggs. The iced is fresh and tasty. They were very impressed with the views and especially loved seeing the golfers try the bonus 19th hole that you can see from the lobby and restaurant.
