Nestled amidst lush greenery and framed by a serene courtyard, previously 2 Michelin star-awarded Somni offers an oasis from the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles. Chef Zabala will redefine Somni as a personal, transportive, and emotive experience for guests, reflective of his Catalan heritage and love of Southern California which he now calls home.

Somni features an extensive tasting menu and offers seatings at both the Chef's Counter and private dining room.

Somni's 400-selection wine list highlights top producers from Spain and California as well as some of our favorite bottlings from around the world. At zoku, we are deeply committed to quality in every aspect of our menu. We work with local sommeliers in our wine selection, many of which are regionally sourced, that complement our appetizers and skewers. Our chefs have trained in “Hinai Jidori”, a prestigious level of yakitori training, dedicating thousands of hours in Japan to perfect their craft. With careful attention to flavors, textures, and colors, the dishes are crafted to provide a thoughtful and immersive dining experience rather than just a quick bite. From tables and chairs crafted in Japan to dishware carefully selected from around the world for each dish, we aim to blend authentic Japanese cuisine with the Redondo Beach aesthetic. We also use traditional Japanese 備長炭 binchotan charcoal instead of electricity or gas to impart unique flavors that only this specialized charcoal can achieve in yakitori.

A Finalist for Best Wine Tasting in Ventura County by the LA Times, West Tasting Room is a wine bar and light-fare restaurant showcasing boutique wineries throughout the West Coast regions of California, Oregon and Washington. Our wine list rotates weekly as we pour 20+ wines by the glass, offer a build-your-own wine flight experience and pair it all perfectly with charcuterie boards, artisanal pizzas and salads.

Our wine selection varies from natural wines like Pét-Nats to Burgundian-Style Oregon Pinot Noirs to Napa Valley Cabernets and more. Try one of our guests' favorite pizzas like our Burrata, Prosciutto and Honey or our Leek & Ricotta. We offer wine & cheese pairing packages, host monthly Winemaker events, and even teach wine classes led by one of our six sommeliers on staff.

All wines poured by the glass are also available to purchase from our bottle shop. Pizza and charcuterie are also available to-go.
