The Rye House in New York City offers regional American fare in a casual pub atmosphere with a definite splash of New Yorker style. The bar serves craft beers and cocktails, wine, whiskey and other spirits. Come on for brunch, lunch or dinner at Rye House or enjoy your food to go with the take-out service.
The menu includes small plates to enjoy at the bar or before a meal, such as white truffle popcorn and fried pickles. Larger appetizers such as hot wings and duck quesadillas are also available. Meals at Rye House may include a truffle grilled cheese, a roasted mushroom plate, a filet mignon or blackened fish tacos.
We came here as a large group and we were served well. Good selection of beers on tap plus awesome appetizers and pub grub for entrees.
Great meal! We made a mistake with our reservation and they were very accommodating.
We went to Rye House for a business lunch and we were seated quickly . The menu offered plenty of choices and everyone enjoyed their meals. Two of us had burgers and the others had salads.
The ambiance was really nice and it would be a fun place to go after work for drinks.
Took my dad here. Way too loud and cramped but food was good
been here a few times before. As always, food and drinks were both great. Service was excellent. Been here as part of 2, 4, and now 8 (with kids) ... worked like a charm each time.
Great neighborhood gastro-pub. Wonderful cocktails and delicious comfort food. Buzzy bar scene but cozy and quieter for weekend brunch.
Great lunch special with a full portion salad and a full portion sandwich for $16, we couldn't finish it all but I would definitely go back. The food is always good but I had only gone after work when its very crowded but I was pleasantly surprised by the lunch scene which was much calmer.
Really attractive space and one of the best BLTs I've ever had (this one with turkey bacon). Great fries, too. More lunchy than brunchy, though a few egg dishes.
Food and service was good but for some reason the table was very sticky. Maybe from constant beer dropping on table.
Enjoyed the casual dining, making the quick reservation was so easy. The bar area was filled with a lively crowd, dining area was comfortable and intimate. Service was awesome, and the food was wonderful, prices great too. And being an Irishman, the whisky selection was great, will have to stop in again on my next visit to New York
Pretty terrible food. Pretty terrible service
Delicious food and great for our small group. The brunch special (brunch meal + cocktail for $20) was outstanding. Each dish we got was delightful (especially the Huevos Benedict)! It's also very central (close to Union Square), but not too touristy so was a perfect for a group meeting spot. Definitely plan to go again!
I'll just sum it up by saying when we asked the waiter for a whisky suggestion, he offered Jack Daniels or Jamison 🤣🤣. That pretty much set the tone of the experience.
Great time!! Super nice stuff, yummy cocktails!
They treated us with a taste of the cocktail of the month and was delicious as also was yummy food!! Great brunch with friends
Service killer! Drinks cold! Food...not bad. Only complaint is that our sandwiches were covered with butter...I could only eat half. And the truffle popcorn is way too small.
A wonderful place. Food is excellent. Atmosphere super.
They didn't have my reservation via Open Table even though I had the confirmation email - they accommodated us and were very apologetic. Went for Mother's Day brunch and the food & service were excellent.
Wait person was courteous, swift and accurate. The food was delicious and the sandwich and salad combination option that is offered at lunch is a very good value.
A really excellent spot. Takes comfort food to a who new level. Boiled peanuts, fried pickles, shishito peppers, meatballs, mac and cheese. The bar hightops are spacious. The table in the back comfortable and nicely spread apart. I've had brunch and lunch and both were great. R
Made a reservation a head of time. When I arrived the place was packed. I was greeted by name before introducing myself and told that a table was available but a better one was about to open up. Before agreeing to wait, I was shown the table options and agreed to wait. I was then handed a menu to order a drink while I wait. Within a minute of looking at the drink menu someone pleasantly came up and asked if I would like to order something. The service was amazing and the food is excellent. They also have a very good beer selection available. They do have a good selection of mixed drinks but I did not get a chance to try one before we had to leave.
Met a friend for dinner and was greeted with a very energetic bar scene. We sat towards the back which was quieter. We shared the brussels sprouts app, which was interesting with the mustard sauce. I had the fish tacos and my friend the meatballs. My tacos were a bit bland but the amount was decent for the price. Service was good and friendly. Would probably come back for a drink rather than a sit down meal.
Our reservation was not ready until 30 minutes after. Not cool..
Beer, bourbon, and boiled peanuts. I love them all and Rye house knows how to deliver.
Great menu that ran on the lighter side despite being a take on upscale American bar food. Nothing too overwhelming. Excellent cocktails, mostly whiskey-focused. Our reservation wasn't ready when we arrived, so the manager generously offered us a round of drinks on the house.
While we enjoyed our evening at Rye House, after seeing a movie, we were very disappointed in the very limited menu. The food menu is upscale pub-grub and we managed to find a few things we liked (lobster roll, kale salad, burger) but I chose Rye House to eat and my mistake. The drinks are great, however.
Rye House is truly a hidden gem. The fact that you are able to get a resrvation the day of to such an awesome restaurant is one of the perks of NYC. The atmosphere is great. The bar area always has a great vibe and the dinning area has a different but still very cool vibe. The drinks are fantastic and the food is just as great! I will be back many times!
Had a work lunch here - great selection of beer and the food was amazing. Will be going back!!!
Service is great. Food is really good. Cocktails are out of this world (their cocktail menu is not as exhaustive as say, Dead Rabbit, but whatever they make, they make better than anyone else.) Can't beat it. It's just a fantastic place.
The food at Rye House is just ok. Not bad at all, but nothing to write home about. We got the fried pickles that were a little over-crisped so you really couldn't taste much pickle underneath, but the sauce was great. I got the mussels which could've used a little more garlic and salt, but were otherwise fine. My friend got the burrata which she said was delicious. The drinks here are fantastic - an amazing beer list, great mixed drinks, and very knowledgeable bartenders. This is definitely a post-work happy hour crowd with men as the majority, so ladies, if you're looking to meet someone - this is definitely the place to go.
Good bar vibe, but promising-sounding dishes (duck quesadillas, jalapeno sloppy joe sliders) that turned out to be mediocre at best and definitely overpriced. Would come back for the bar vibe, but would eat elsewhere first.
This popular Flatiron spot shines as an after work watering hole. Great bar staff and always excellent whiskey drinks. That said, I am not a big fan of the food. It tends toward being a bit too greasy and overwrought.
Rye House isn't really a place to eat, although the sandwiches we had were okay. Think Drinks! The menu has pages and pages of whiskies and the Manhattan and glass of wine we had were adequate. We would return but only for drinks.
$15 for a soup/salad & sandwich and very good food. If you also like rye, bourbon, great selection and also very nice selection of beers on tap. Compare $15 to a place any take out food venue which is going to cost you an average of $8-$10 you are better off sitting down getting served and having a nice quiet lunch.
Great cocktails and beer selection. Food is well prepared, flavorful, and well above average for a pub.
They have a great whiskey selection. Food is mostly geared to complement the great drinks rather than vice versa.
Doesn't matter what the occasion is Rye House delivers the perfect experience every time. Amazing food, drink, service and atmosphere at all the key times - happy hr, dinner, brunch and late night. If your looking for a great time with friends (great for groups) this is the place.
Great spirits list - food was good, but selection was limited. Really nicely done place, but it gets loud.
Food was good but recall it being better with more choices. Impossible to sit in the bar area anymore; too crowded and overall becoming too noisy. Better for drinks than dinner
Was meeting some girlfriends for dinner and drinks and this place fit the bill geographically. We were first seated a little close to the bar action and asked to be moved a little further into the dining room. The staff was accommodating and gracious. We loved the bar selections, loved the decadent little bites and ladies, if you're looking to find some male companionship, this is the place. It was crawling with men.
Great beer selection. Solid food. But you're going there for the beer and cocktails. Service is good and the staff is always great, even though the bar gets jam packed. It's my favorite spot to meet someone for a drink.
