About Rye Grill and Bar
The Rye Grill and Bar reopened to large crowds in January 2009 after a major renovation that boasts four separate dining rooms, fireplaces and a front porch. Long-time patrons will be relieved to know that it's still the casual neighborhood spot they've always loved. The Grill offers the same friendly service and menu favorites that made it a crowd pleaser for fifteen years, from it's fried calamari, Cajun chicken quesadillas and 4-layer dip to its salads, pizzas, sandwiches, sliders and burgers. Popular entrees include the Rye Grill's signature farfalle with hot Italian sausage, pan roasted filet mignon, pot chicken and fish selections. Guests may have drinks and appetizers in its lively mahogany bar room on the first floor or enjoy a bit more quiet at the nautical themed bar upstairs. Dining room options accommodate all for, dinner and private parties. Valet parking is available at lunch during the week.

We have a private lot where we offer valet parking during lunch Monday thru Friday. Customers are welcome to park in the lot on there own at night and on weekends. The restaurant is in the Rye train station parking lot. So on weekends and after 7pm weeknights there are plenty of spots.
Metro North New Haven Line has a stop in Rye. The train will let you out across the parking lot to the restaurant.

Rye Grill and Bar Ratings and Reviews
We enjoyed dinner - I had the potato leek soup and the petite filet sandwich as well as the strawberry cosmo. The other family members had pot chicken, grilled salmon sandwich and grilled chicken sandwiches with fries. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I did try the strawberry cosmo another day where the bartender suggested that I have fresh strawberries instead of the jam - it was not nearly as good and her unsolicited suggestion that I might prefer fewer calories was unwanted. Go for the gusto - get the jam...
Rye Grill can be bustling and loud on a weekend night. However, on Sunday we had quite the opposite experience. We sat at the bar booth and enjoyed a relaxing, quietist crowd watching the Olympics and winding down the weekend. The food was served promptly and was delicious!
Thank you Rye Grill for a nice dinner out!
One of the few times my visit to the Rye grill was less than perfect. Food was not great, lobster salad looked sad and served on a small plate with no garnish, no fries, nothing. My fish and chips were not great, Waitress was not around and it was not a great experience. I was entertaining clients, had left my charge at the front desk and was delivered the check without my card.
I will be back as it’s a favorite of mine and could have been an off day- hope that’s all it was.
Celebrating a milestone birthday with friends. Good service, very good food and cocktails. Let us stay and enjoy and chat. Server was attentive to whatever was needed. Many good food options and brunch items were all very good. We had a wonderful time. We have done birthday brunches there in the past as well. We keep going back.
Service was attentive. Menu selection was good. We had burgers and sandwiches which were all well prepared and all our meals were served quickly. We sat on the second floor which was good since downstairs the bar gets pretty loud and the noise travels up to the second floor.
Sad how far the service has gone downhill over the years. My sister had her wedding rehearsal dinner here and it was fantastic. Service tonight was a joke. Waiter comes to table, pours water and leaves the empty bottle on the table for the entire meal. Never offers refills on any beverage. The food is downright nasty and overpriced. The “lobster bisque” was vile. We contemplated going to a diner and, frankly, regretted not going. Food would have been much better at the diner, more reasonably priced and better service. Unlikely to return.
The hostess sat us at our table and said the waitress Heidi will be with you shortly. Heidi came over promptly and took our drink order and proceeded to tell us the dinner specials. My friends and myself started with salads, then we ordered dinner. I had the Tuna with mango salsa that came with bok Choy and jasmine rice, my friends had the mahi mahi that came with sweet potatoe hash and the other friend had the steak sandwich which came with French fries. We all had 3 glasses of wine and we had apple crisps for dessert. We felt like we were a bit rushed, I guess because they were busy, but Heidi came and apologized for that. But overall it was very good.
We went here in a snow storm and there was still a good sized crowd; a great sign. Our party of four was seated in front of a fireplace, which was so cozy.
Cauliflower soup was delicious and we really enjoyed the Petit filet mignon sandwich with fries and frizzled onions.
Caesar salad could have used more flavor but overall, a great experience.
A restaurant that alters a menu item to meet the diners request is wonderful and that is what makes Rye Grill great. The service was exceptional and food served of quality and freshness.
Sitting upstairs is by far the quieter options and the environment makes for an adult experience. The restaurant is child friendly but they tend to sit downstairs. This was a very positive experience.
Great experience tonite. Though the restaurant was quite busy, the noise level seemed better than usual (always a busy active place, so generally not the right fit for a quiet meal), maybe this was a reflection of the location of our booth, which was close to the front, but opposite side from the bar. In any case, we don’t generally mind the active noise level, but this just seemed better. Anyway, our server was super pleasant and attentive and the food was great! I had the halibut special which was delicious (!) and my husband enjoyed the blackened swordfish. All prepared perfectly. I have to say, I’ve never been disappointed with a meal here. Really like this place!
Unfortunately, not our best experience at RG&B. Restaurant looked dirty and services was off (three different servers, bread came after appetizers, upstair’s bathroom needed cleaning, elevator was covered in finger prints and the rug was littered with food, bread stations looked messy). As I understand, the restaurant turns into a full-on bar the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. I think it was showing the wear and tear from a hard night of drinking. We’ve had many good experiences - this just wasn’t one of them.
The bar area was busy and noisy but we sat in nice quiet dining room. Had a waiter in training serving us and he was great. Food fresh and delicious. Had the shrimp dumplings and coconut shrimp app. Yum. Had a seafood salad..fresh and delicious. Dessert of pumpkin cheesecake really good too. Loved it all.
