Exceptional meal. Cannot wait to return!
This our local special event location! We love the food, drinks, and atmosphere... Rick was our waiter and he made our experience very special.
Perfect as always!
Everything, from drinks to desserts, was fresh, flavorful and not too heavy.
Duck legs were outta this world ! Steak was perfectly cooked.
Over the top perfection! We went for brunch on mother’s day and we had an amazing meal (clams and sausage) and delicious mimosas and finished it off with an outstanding dessert (caramel chocolate thing). The service was fabulous and the restaurant was completely full! We will enjoy Rx for years to come!
Perfect restaurant for special occasions such as Mother's Day. Great Sunday brunch on any occasion! Try the deviled eggs with smoked flounder as an appetizer. The shrimp and grits were superb, not too spicy but well seasoned. Smoked ham eggs benedict are also a good bet. Ambience is warm for being a renovated drug store - and the noise level was reasonable.
I had another great brunch there. The staff and the food are great!
Mother’s Day brunch - it was wonderful but loud. Not a big problem except had a couple older folks who have trouble hearing in loud places like that.... as great as everything was, it was not a lounge-around, leisurely paced place. But it was a great meal and I hope to go back. We were visiting from out of town.
The hubs and I wanted to go somewhere special for our anniversary and my daughter mentioned RX. It was easy to make reservations on Open Table the day of our dinner. Our waiter Miguel was helpful and charming and fun. The food was delicious! The drinks were great! And they gave us dessert on the house for our anniversary. Already planning to go back....
Outstanding service. As a new diner I suggested the server pick my meal. The appetizer, main course and dessert were all outstanding with great choices by the team. Overall I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a different menu experience as the farm to table meal choices all sounded intriguing.
Phenomenal birthday brunch!
The service was excellent. My wife's entree was very good. My entree was good, but the shrimp were overcooked slightly. The flavors were outstanding. I highly recommend stopping by if you are in Wilmington.
The food was great. The waiter was a jerk.
We have been to RX several times and usually make it a stop when we have guests in town as it does not disappoint. This time we were going before attending a theater production. We started by sharing the smoked ham, pimento and biscuits (worth it for those alone) and also the sweet potato fries. Would have liked the fries a little crisper. Wine list as always was excellent and the staff is available to help in the selection. For mains, we had the duck, shrimp and grits and the hangar steak. The hangar steak, asked for medium rare, definitely came out very rare. However, the meal was taken back to the kitchen and promptly returned properly done. Overall an enjoyable pre-theater dinner with good food, and good service in pleasant surroundings.
Amazing as always!
We had a wonderful time for my wife's birthday dinner. She loved her shrimp and grits. The drinks we ordered from the bar were amazing. The appetizers were very tasty and well presented. I was pretty disappointed in the duck breast. It tasted like it had just come out of the freezer, and there was no attempt at making the skin crispy. All things considered our dinner was very nice.
We are frequent diners there and do not hesitate to recommend to others
Finally had a chance to go to Rx with my friends from Raleigh. The ambiance of the restaurant is very unimpressive, and we were seated in front of an air conditioning vent. We did mention that we were freezing but eventually we moved to a booth away from the frigid air. First martini arrived and had to be sent back. The bartender came to our table and apologized. Made a fresh drink that was perfect.
The food, however is another story. Homemade biscuits and cornbread wedges were amazing! I have consumed many orders of shrimp and grits over the years, and Rx shrimp and grits were the best!
So it was a bit of a mixed bag for us: the kitchen was fabulous, up front needs work.
Amazing southern cuisine. My guest had the eggs benedict & I had the pork belly with sunny side up egg. Both were amazing! A little pricey, but definitely worth it. Be aware the place is pretty noisy
I feel bad - this used to be my number 1 restaurant in Wilmington. I usually eat at the bar. They have “new” bar stools - they are awful. It was also so noisy that I could not talk easily with my date. I won’t be back until the bar stools are fixed.
Fantastic food. Great service. Cool atmosphere. Definitely going back!!
We enjoyed our first visit to RX. Can't remember our waiters name but she was very knowledgeable and made suggestions. The food was very good and fresh. We would have given it a 5 but was very disappointed in how noisey it was. We expected a nice quiet evening enjoying some different dishes with sharing some wine. Instead we kept having to repeat ourselves because we couldn't hear each other.
I love this place; excellent food and very good service. But we will only go early in the evening because at normal dinner hour it is unbelievably loud.
Great meal prior to attending show at Thalian Hall.
This was such a great experience and our first time dining at Rx Restaurant. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and friendly and didn’t rush our experience ! The food was absolutely delicious, especially the Mac and cheese and deviled eggs. Thanks for supporting our local farmers and offering such a great menu.
Amazing food and service. Get the ham and pimento biscuits as an app! Tip: get wine nearby and pay no corking fee. Also: can upgrade a split entree for $5/person to make it a larger meal. Great option!
Great spot for a special occasion. Farm to table interesting selections. Everything was excellent. Recommend shrimp and grits, deserts could not be resisted!
Great spot. Creative dishes
Excellent food and service, my first dinner at RX but definitely will not be my last.
We attended Sunday brunch. The restaurant had a very comfortable atmosphere and the servers and staff were very attentive and welcoming. I loved the deviled egg appetizer and the soft shell crab entree was delicious. For dessert I tasted the carrot cake and rice pudding with strawberries and both were outstanding. Will definitely return again, next time for dinner.
We had another wonderful time. The staff is great and the food amazing!
Yummy food, great service. Our family tried several brunch dishes... cinnamon rolls, strawberry French toast, eggs benedict, Monte Cristo, and mac and cheese. Lavender lemon tart for dessert. Nice presentation, everything tasted really good. Nobody was a huge fan of the French toast, a little too dense Maybe. Really good coffee, which is important for me :-) Will be back to get dinner!
Wonderful flavors, terrific use of fresh local foods as we enjoyed greens, strawberries, carrots, radishes, spinach and more. Superb food. Excellent service. Duck was one of my husband's favorite preparations of duck. My flounder melted in my mouth, with wonderful flavors completing the dish. Rice pudding desert was delicious, with Carolina grown rice, even. Highly recommended.
I actually recommended Rx to a customer in my store today! Dinner Saturday night, as always, was exceptional. From a seasonal cocktail straight through apps and dessert ~ all was fresh, delicious and a meal to remember!
Excellent meal and overall experience. This was the first time here and we will be back!
i was a first=timer to rx,having been recommended by local wilmingtonians,
it did not disappoint.my server, amanda was very nice, friendly and very helpful in explaining the dishes to me upon my request.from my before diner drink, a delicious bourbon-based gingerbeer concoction to my appetizer of porkbelly and grits everything was delightful, the porkbelly appetizer is among the best ive ever experienced, and thats saying a lot.
the main course of braised pork shoulder( in nc you are in hawg heaven) was awesome, dont need a knife here,it falls off by the forkful, sublimely braised and cooked to perfection. I was dining alone so without the benefit of conversation i found the noise level moderate, there were a few birthday parties going on, the decor is nice ,spare with paintings hung around the restaurant that were both colorful, fun and for sale too. apparently some of them are by the owner-chefs wife/partner as well.
overall i really enjoyed rx and will happily go back when in wilmington next winter.
Great service and delicious food, as always.
