Rx Boiler Room - Mandalay Bay Ratings and Reviews
food and drinks are excellent. our waiter was awesome. spent a lot of time chatting with us. brought us a (free) custon dessert (liquid nitrogen meringues) My faves are the Cihicken Pot pie nuggets, Moonin tots, and the scallops. Always go there (or RM Seafood downstaris - which is more fine dining) when we're in Vegas.
The RX Boiler Room started out strong with a delicious duck confit poutine. However, the rest of the meal was just okay. The breaded onion rings were served with my shirt ribs dish after asking them not to be (gluten issues). Not a big deal but the dish had too much sauce, as did my dining companions. The sauce overpowered the meat and for the cost of the meal, I felt like it was just okay for the price. If you love saucy dishes, you will love this place!
I absolutely loved everything about this place. The decor is current and creative. The food was so good, I kept each bite in my mouth, savoring the flavors, for as long as I could lol. The ice cream flavor guessing game was so much fun and delicious! I tasted flavor combinations I'd never had before. I adored Rick Moonen on Top Chef Masters and I'm super impressed with his restaurant Rx Boiler Room!
The service was excellent. Everyone was friendly and accomodating!
The poutine was AMAZInG! wish there was a bit more. The bussel sprouts were also delicious as was the beef shank.
The lamb shank was good but I'd recommend the beef shank over it. Everything had such amazing flavor!
The scallops were also delicious (as per my son) the portion was on the smaller side however.
The bartender made a great Mexican Mule!
Nice atmosphere, we chose it because it was close to Michael Jackson One show. Made reservation, not needed on a Saturday night which really surprised me. Restaurant was not busy at all at 7:45. Interesting menu, great cocktail options but definitely premium prices. Good blue cheese olive for martini, firm and tasty. Not too many food options for main menu unless you wanted appetizer for meal and everything ala carte so any main entree with side/salad/vegetable and cocktails will cost you at least $100. I ordered salad added chicken. Sounded good because flavors were interesting but was just o.k. Chicken was cooked well but salad was more like a side salad size with breast on top. Not very satisfying and not just about portion size... it was just generic. Could have ordered it anywhere for 1/3 price. My husband ordered Meatball appetizer and Mac n cheese. Also o.k., I thought roux for Mac was a little floury/pasty not so cheesy. Topping was good, nicely baked. May be a better place for lunch or appetizer and cocktail. Still new restaurant though, things come together over time with positive and negative feedback. Service was very good, staff was friendly and efficient. Lots of really amazing food in Vegas, although pleasant environment RX Boiler Room lacked the yum factor for me...(
Had a great meal. Neat decor. Was not busy at all but service was a tad on the slow side. We were asked at the hostess if we were celebrating anything? My cousin advised we were here for his sons 21st birthday.....no acknowledgement of that after the fact. A drink or a dessert would have been nice.
I loved every bite of my meal from the scallops with asparagus and corn purée to the tater tots which tasted like potato pancakes with onion, to the wine to the dessert. We had fun with the ice cream flavor challenge. Our waitress was attentive but not hovering and made suggestions without pushing. She (Tandice) was great 👍🏻
The Bacon Wrapped Bacon-N-Egg is a must have - so delicious. We also got the “DEVILS ON HORSEBACK” which was really good. For the meal, we split the 18-HOUR GUINNESS BRAISED BEEF SHORT RIB which was amazing. Really tender - no knife needed. For dessert we tried the RX TASTING GAME which was 8 Flavors of House-Made ice cream and sorbet and you had to guess the flavors. This was really fun and surprisingly hard. The server told us only one person has ever guessed all correctly and that person was a chef! I think we got 3 right. This was our third time eating there - very yummy.
My boyfriend said it well, he said this place is freakin awesome. I concur. He had the rabbit ragu and I had the seafood linguine which was also freakin awesome as well as the desserts. The cocktails we had were also freakin awesome. Hopefully, you get the theme. You have to go to this 'freakin awesome' place.
Second visit to the RX Boiler Room and enjoyed it equally as much as the first time. Brought friends with us this time who had never been to the Boiler Room and they enjoyed if very much as well. Our server was Tandis and she did a great job in taking care of us.
Menu choices and atmosphere were amazing. I highly recommend bacon wrapped bacon and egg, the pot pie nuggets, and the lobster ravioli. I had read some reviews about the place feeling too warm and stuffy before coming here, but my guests and I were quite comfortable (even cool). The dark atmosphere is unique and very enjoyable, as well.
Went here with 2 friends before a concert at House of Blues. Creative options on the menu. Chicken pot pie bites were awesome. New York strip was too. My friend didn't love her ribeye. It was really thin. Brussel sprouts had a kick. Tater tots were great!
The steam punk atmosphere was edgy and cool.
The restaurant was quite interesting, there is a bar and waitress brings you drinks but to get food you have to walk across the restaurant to a food truck where you order and pay for food and wait for them to bring it to your table. A VERY limited menu - only about 15 total options on the menu and 4 of these were appetizers.
I took my clients there for dinner after a trade show. The food and service were good. The only reason I will not be going back is because it looked much classier online than in person. With a $$$ price point I prefer the servers and hostesses be better dressed. The corset tops matched the steampunk decor so maybe that's my fault for assuming it would be a fancier place. Overall, it was a good experience.
