Ruvo East Ratings and Reviews
They have a really good $12 lunch special and the place was packed. The mushroom soup and arugula salad were delicious. The short rib flatbread was good, but had a little too much bbq sauce, and the pappardelle bolognese was amazing. My short rib wrap was mostly mushrooms, and not that much short ribs. The Ruvo burger was ok, but didn’t live up to expectations. For $12, everything on the menu is pretty good. This is only the second time we’ve been here for lunch and although it was good, it doesn’t live up to the amazing and delicious food they serve at dinner.
We are usually satisfied but this visit was terrible. Chicken dish had a strange texture. Lobster three ways was awful. Tempura style was spongy, risotto was like spackle and the tail tasted fishy. We saw our waiter once and had a hard time getting drinks and service. Best part about the experience was the hardworking bus girl who seemingly did everything. In addition the live music was enjoyable. Probably won’t be back.
Ruvo East was a delightful belated Valentine Day date for my husband and I. I love seafood and the selection was ample. My husband enjoyed the skirt steak. The server was friendly and patient. We were not rushed. We had a private and quiet evening where we were well taken cared of. We noticed a busy bar area and that looked fun too. We had a lovely time! Thanks, Ruvo East!
My boyfriend and I were very excited to return here as it was the place where we had our first date. The food was delicious but the small size of the dining area increased the loudness of the room to the point that we could barely hear each other. The service was terrible. The waitress had to be tracked down to get refills of our drinks and she forgot to return to our table to get our dessert order despite having asked us if we wanted dessert. The service would have been better if the wait staff weren’t all standing around the hostess while gossiping about their customers.
Just love Ruvo. I have been here about ten or more times. The food is great and the overal fell of the restaurant is special. Very cozy, sometimes load but just a great feeling everytime I walk in and then walk out.
The Jewel of Port Jeff...enduring many changing restaurants around it.
My wife and I are regular diners at Ruvo Port Jefferson. The food is consistently very good, sometimes downright excellent. We usually come for the $12 lunch and lately we have been getting Angel as our server. He is such a pleasant person. He greets us and knows our order even if we switch up on him and order something different. He is attentive and an excellent server. He goes out of his way to meet all of our needs. The servers at Ruvo, sometimes are bland but we always know the servers we like the best and Angel is one of our favorites. He is a credit to the staff at Ruvo.
We like the actual setting, the building Ruvo occupies. It's a warm setting and when one arrives we are greeted by people who know us, that we are frequent guests and they treat us accordingly. It is because we feel like we are members of the family that make the Ruvo Port Jefferson experience something we always look forward to.
The noise level is always loud but the place is always packed so except for when screaming little kids are in attendance we can deal with the noise levels at Ruvo. The noise detracts little from the over all experience. We will be attending Ruvo again on February 16 for my wife's birthday San we are looking forward to another great dining experience.
Dining at Ruvo is a consistently good experience. We attended Ruvo for their outstanding brunch selections, for only $15.95 and that includes my favorite mixed drink Port Jeff iced tea.
We are regular diners at Ruvo and for us the reason we love it so much besides the cuisine is the server Angel. He knows our likes and dislikes and he goes out of his way to make our experience the best it could possibly be. In fact he wasn't supposed to be our server on this visit but he made sure he accommodated us as we requested him. If he ever stops working at Ruvo or works in another position at Ruvo, I think Ruvo will lose two very loyal customers.
Good food, lots of noise, but that's ok, great service with Angel and good prices make Ruvo a favorite destination for us.
The night went very well for a double date. Food was good drinks were excellent, service was on although wasn’t checked on after food came out although it was very delicious.
The only negative was my table was next to the wall/window and a draft was coming through making the other guests very cold.
