Ruvo East Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I eat dinner at Ruvo's from time to time, so when I was looking for a place to have lunch at after a stint at the Salt Cave right around the corner, I naturally looked to Ruvo's. We were not disappointed. The food was delish, the prices affordable, and the service perfect. Thanks for making this lunch with the girls a day to remember.
We have always enjoyed dinners, afternoon lunches, Anniversary celebration and our granddaughters Christening which was 11 years ago. The food is excellent and the waitress/waiter service is attentive and friendly! We have been coming to Ruvo since the Printer’s Devil closed.
The food was excellent. All four of us ordered something different and each dish was outstanding - taste and presentation.
Unfortunately, I would not recommend this restaurant and would not go back - due to the NOISE LEVEL!! The enclosed room we were seated was so noisy - it made conversation virtually impossible at our table. It was very disappointing as we were treating our friends to an anniversary dinner. They should never have placed other tables in this room where they had two large tables (6 or more people at each), as they were obviously drinking and enjoying themselves (as you should on a Saturday night), but not that it ruins the evening for the other diners just wanting to engage in conversation.
It's a shame because as I stated the food was exceptional, and not for the noise - I would have loved to go back
Been coming here for years. Food is always consistently good. Calamari with horseradish sauce, Crispy Duck, Mache salad, slow roasted short ribs and happy hour menu is always a winner. Service is good (especially Sadie) but could do without the surly teenage bus boy who found everything we asked for a problem. Bar is beautiful and bartenders friendly. Nice live soft music. Definitely our go-to place!
This was an evening to celebrate my friend’s birthday, which was indicated on the open table reservation. Disappointed that no one from hostess to server mentioned her birthday! No other restaurant I’ve been to has ever neglected that. I mentioned it to the hostess on the way out and she said she never knew. Again, it was written on the special note which she had on her screen. It’s not a deal breaker but Ruvo left me with a bad taste.
I ate dinner last week at Ruvo in Port Jefferson in my party of 5. Overall it was fine and good, just not outstanding. One less star for service as waiter was good but person delivering food to table was a little abrupt and overall not very friendly. One less star for value as $25 Lobster stuffed ravioli special would have been priced fine if the dish included enough raviolis to fill you up. Me and one other in our party had the ravioli special and she and I were both hungry after eating. The raviolis were fairly thin and not enough of them. I realize it's a special which often costs a few bucks more, but for $25, they should provide 2-3 more raviolis to ensure it's enough food. Also disappointed no Octoberfest or Pumpkin beer on tap or in a bottle. Not the end of the world, and didn't ruin our meal or experience, just a bit strange for October 21.
This was our first time the two of us were eating here and we were pretty impressed.
The pros: The ambience was lovely, the food excellent, the waitress very attentive, and we really enjoyed the female singer and her guitarist accompanying her.
The cons: For some weird reason though, the water person kept coming around and filling only my husband's glass and then scurrying away before I could ask her for more, so I ended up pouring some of his water into my glass. But this is a minor point. I ordered the cavatelli (with pieces of lobster, which was delicious, but for $28.00 I was hoping there was a bit more lobster . My husband ordered the eggplant rollatini. He said it was the best he ever had. We split a piece of the strawberry banana cake. I wanted to get that since so many reviews said how awesome it was. The cake was bland and tasted stale, although the strawberry and banana topping was very good. We will definitely be back though. This was better than the run of the mill Italian restaurants that offer the typical dishes.
Ruvo used to be a favorite but over the months the food quality has been sliding consistently downhill. Tonight the food was over spiced to the point of making us sick with hot crushed red peppers that previously were not a staple of this dish we both had.
We are done with this place. Sad. It's popular. The service has been on the downward as well. So see ya Ruvo, probably not coming back.
We enjoyed lunch at Ruvo. The built in bench seating near the windows is very comfortable and pretty.
The sole oreganata lives up to its reputation - delicious! My sister enjoyed the pappardelle bolognese - which is her favorite meal on the menu.
Delicious wines, nice service - perfect place to celebrate together.
First time at this restaurant. Was a little nervous when we got there. Tables seemed very close together. Was given we think best table in the restaurant. Wonderful booth in the corner. Absolutely wonderful. Very quiet and private. Marvelous waiter. Very friendly and helpful.
Will defiantly recommend this restaurant. And most defiantly be back.
This is a local favorite for us. We've eaten everything from brunch, to dinner, to lunch, to happy hour here. A fave for happy hour - yummy small plates at the bar. Happy hour drinks seemed a bit overpriced. The 2/2 crispy duck was moist and meaty. Flounder with shrimp was tasty but could have had more than 2 shrimp. All in all this is our go to place and the food never disappoints.
