Always great food and service.
Warm octopus salad was outstanding. Great service!
Every dish delicious. Warm octopus salad, short ribs, salmon, tagliatelle, swordfish. Plus a vegan option that my son loved(ravioli) and a gluten free option that my other son loved (shellfish fra diavalo tasted like any quality gluten- present preparation). Brianna, our server was simply outstanding. Ambiance is rustic and cozy. Just a perfect evening.
Excellent Easter menu
I was a bit disappointed as to the quick disappearance of a few items. Omelets were good, also the carvings. The chafing dishes were OK...the desserts were not that great. I was also a bit surprised at the 20% add-on that I was not advised of prior to the check being presented, this after I found a few discrepancies in the bill for added drinks I should not have been charged for.
My wife had been talking about this restaurant for some time based on what a friend had told her, we finally got to go and experience it for ourselves and I have to say we were NOT disappointed.
Another great time at Ruvo. We went on a Friday night, grabbed a glass of wine at bar ($5 Happy Hour) prior to our reservation time. Bar was hopping! I had scallops and husband had Chilean Sea Bass, both excellent. One of our "go to" restaurants in Port Jeff.
Food was good - the hot antipasti, gnocchi, and duck dishes were very enjoyable.
However, service was lacking. Our waitress took a good 15 minutes to bring out the bottle of wine ordered and forgot my meal at one point during dinner. Whether she was frazzled or in the weeds (which wasn't the case considering the lack of tables), service should be on point for the price paid.
i am Italian so i tend to be very critical of ANY Italian dining experience! not to worry, RUVO met and exceeded my expectations.service was fast, food was SUPERB ( this is REAL southern Itailian food) veal meatballs, shrimp and flounder, escarole soup of the day, fennel sausage, baby ribs, all two thumbs WAY up!!! i don,t see how you can go wrong with RUVO!! highly recommended
The brunch was fine, but the Bloody Mary offered was too spicy and exchanged it for the mimosa. But we enjoyed the back comfy booth.
Great experience. Took my family (including 3 kids) to the restaurant after we concluded our "escape room" adventure. Service and food was excellent!
I have dined at Ruvo for many years now and have always enjoyed my meal, the staff and service as well as the ambiance....always consistent and never disappointed. Bravo to Ruvo!!!!!
Great dining experience. The food was amazing
Ruvo is a pleasant surprise on a winter weekday night! Personnel is welcominag , friendly and competent. The food is excellent! Quantity and presentation is perfect. Excellent choice for a personal celebration.
Ruvo never disappoints! Our table was ready when we arrived. We ordered off their brunch menu. Poached Eggs on a Crab Cakes. I do like my eggs Benedict on an English muffin and I missed that crunch and the absorbing of the hollandaise and egg yolk. I think if that was added to the dish it would be a perfect 10!
Came with perfectly seasoned Hash browns and fruit. Basket of muffins and Bagels for the table.
Service was great.
We had a Bloody Mary and A Ruvo version of a Long Island Iced tea.
Pleasant experience all around.
We arrived at 8:30 pm . Nice and quite. Or waiter was not very happy. We felt rushed. He treated us poorly.
The food is always great! The atmosphere is pleasant and warm. The staff is friendly and helpful. Make sure you book ahead if you go on a weekend though. Price fix 3 course meal is amazing! I also reccomend for brunch, the breakfast is just as good. Love this place 😋
Ruvo's never disappoints! They have a good lunch menu with a lot of options that is reasonable priced
Excellent service and a yummy eggplant rollatini made for an outstanding backdrop for lunch with a friend
They have a really good $12 lunch special and the place was packed. The mushroom soup and arugula salad were delicious. The short rib flatbread was good, but had a little too much bbq sauce, and the pappardelle bolognese was amazing. My short rib wrap was mostly mushrooms, and not that much short ribs. The Ruvo burger was ok, but didn’t live up to expectations. For $12, everything on the menu is pretty good. This is only the second time we’ve been here for lunch and although it was good, it doesn’t live up to the amazing and delicious food they serve at dinner.
The duck dish was disappointing
Good food and service. Nice area.
We are usually satisfied but this visit was terrible. Chicken dish had a strange texture. Lobster three ways was awful. Tempura style was spongy, risotto was like spackle and the tail tasted fishy. We saw our waiter once and had a hard time getting drinks and service. Best part about the experience was the hardworking bus girl who seemingly did everything. In addition the live music was enjoyable. Probably won’t be back.
Great food reasonable prices
We enjoyed our food very much.... nice atmosphere and good service. Would highly recommend to our friends....
Ruvo East was a delightful belated Valentine Day date for my husband and I. I love seafood and the selection was ample. My husband enjoyed the skirt steak. The server was friendly and patient. We were not rushed. We had a private and quiet evening where we were well taken cared of. We noticed a busy bar area and that looked fun too. We had a lovely time! Thanks, Ruvo East!
Great evening. Made reservation and walked in on time. Our dining experience was wonderful thanks to the company ,the food and our incredible server Julie...you go girl!
Thank you for everything!!!
Always enjoy going to RUVO. The food was excellent and the service was exceptional. It's a great place for a pre-theater dinner!
The dinner was amazing.
Always top shelf in every way...Ruvo is our choice for anything special, in fact, I asked my wife to marry me right in front of Ruvo's on Valentine's Day 2013....She accepted my proposal...
Great food, service, and atmosphere. Highly recommend!
Always love coming here. Grab a glass of wine at happy hour and then have a wonderful meal. Can't be beat!
My boyfriend and I were very excited to return here as it was the place where we had our first date. The food was delicious but the small size of the dining area increased the loudness of the room to the point that we could barely hear each other. The service was terrible. The waitress had to be tracked down to get refills of our drinks and she forgot to return to our table to get our dessert order despite having asked us if we wanted dessert. The service would have been better if the wait staff weren’t all standing around the hostess while gossiping about their customers.
Just love Ruvo. I have been here about ten or more times. The food is great and the overal fell of the restaurant is special. Very cozy, sometimes load but just a great feeling everytime I walk in and then walk out.
The Jewel of Port Jeff...enduring many changing restaurants around it.
I enjoyed my dinner which was a special. I had Tile Fish that melted in my mouth!
My wife and I are regular diners at Ruvo Port Jefferson. The food is consistently very good, sometimes downright excellent. We usually come for the $12 lunch and lately we have been getting Angel as our server. He is such a pleasant person. He greets us and knows our order even if we switch up on him and order something different. He is attentive and an excellent server. He goes out of his way to meet all of our needs. The servers at Ruvo, sometimes are bland but we always know the servers we like the best and Angel is one of our favorites. He is a credit to the staff at Ruvo.
We like the actual setting, the building Ruvo occupies. It's a warm setting and when one arrives we are greeted by people who know us, that we are frequent guests and they treat us accordingly. It is because we feel like we are members of the family that make the Ruvo Port Jefferson experience something we always look forward to.
The noise level is always loud but the place is always packed so except for when screaming little kids are in attendance we can deal with the noise levels at Ruvo. The noise detracts little from the over all experience. We will be attending Ruvo again on February 16 for my wife's birthday San we are looking forward to another great dining experience.
Three of us thoroughly enjoyed the prix fixe dinner. My salad course and short ribs entree were excellent as was the cheesecake. Wines were excellent too.
Service was terrible. Our waiter seemed to be annoyed by us being there. All questions asked were met with a gratuitous eye roll. Just unpleasant.
Dining at Ruvo is a consistently good experience. We attended Ruvo for their outstanding brunch selections, for only $15.95 and that includes my favorite mixed drink Port Jeff iced tea.
We are regular diners at Ruvo and for us the reason we love it so much besides the cuisine is the server Angel. He knows our likes and dislikes and he goes out of his way to make our experience the best it could possibly be. In fact he wasn't supposed to be our server on this visit but he made sure he accommodated us as we requested him. If he ever stops working at Ruvo or works in another position at Ruvo, I think Ruvo will lose two very loyal customers.
Good food, lots of noise, but that's ok, great service with Angel and good prices make Ruvo a favorite destination for us.
