Ruth's Chris Steak House - Winter Park Ratings and Reviews
Five of us were celebrating my husband's birthday. It was a delightful dinner. Excellent food & drinks. Our waiter was very attentive & personable. He remembered my husband from another restaurant that we used to go to years ago. All in all, a great celebration.
I keep coming back to this steakhouse just because I want to love it as much as my coworker does but it always disappoints. While this steakhouse is comparable to The Capital Grille I enjoy The Capital Grille much more. I feel like their steaks have more flavor and their lobster Mac and cheese is incomparable. I will say that service at Ruth Chris was very good. It seems like they can never get my steak perfectly cooked, I eat my steak medium, it’s usually undercooked at first and then once they take it back it’s over cooked. I am not sure if I would go back to give it one more chance or just stick with The Capital Grille.
New Year's Eve can be a challenging time for restaurants, but Ruth's handled it with its usual great service, drink, and food. The steaks were perfectly done as ordered, and the salads and sides couldn't have been better. And our server was the ultimate professional. All in all, it was a very enjoyable evening.
We met some friends and family for a Christmas Eve dinner and while the food is always good, it seemed that with the volume of people there on this night, many of the salads had possibly been prepared in advance. Both my wife and I had upset stomachs and the only common thing we had was the Steakhouse Salad.
This evening's dinner was not one of their better efforts. Lobster tail was undercooked and had to be sent back twice. The manager came to our table and explained that there was a technical issue with some of the kitchen equipment in that it was not reaching the correct temperature, he deducted $34 from out check. This was an isolated incident in that we dine here frequently and have never encountered a similar issue so we'll be back.
Server was great as was the food, however, there was very cold air blowing on us intermittently. We asked the server to see if the air conditioning could be turned down (it was 53 degrees outside that evening). When the air turned off we were very comfortable, but it only stayed off for maybe fifteen minutes, then it came on again. Where we were seating we were under two air vents. Unfortunately it did make our evening less than perfect.
We were again disappointed by the meal we had at this expensive restaurant. It was probably the fourth time we had eaten before. One time we had a separate room for a birthday group for the family and had a poor overall experience. After a suitable time away from the restaurant we tried it again a couple of months ago and were really satisfied with it, so we were actually looking forward to visiting it again. However it was very diapponting. My chicken whcich was supposed to be excellent was hardly edible as it was overcooked and dry and I left a substantial portion of it. I told my server and he spoke to the manager, as a result of which we got one free dessert to take home. The manager never spoke to us. Also, the restaurant is very noisy, and conversation is not easy. I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Excellent all the way from valet, bar staff, waitstaff back to valet.
You get what you pay for and for me the portion size to cost was out of balance.
Ruth's Chris employees certainly make up for any issue with costs.
Were treated with genuine respect and hospitality as any guest should.
This was our fourth Thanksgiving Dinner at Ruth's Chris in the past few years. It just gets better and better each year; gone from "superb" to "absolutely amazing"! We're going back as a family for Christmas Dinner....and will almost certainly return next Thanksgiving. Ruth's and staff get everything perfect!
We came to celebrate our 2 year anniversary & my boyfriend has never been. Service was fine but not exceptional. Both of our steaks came out the wrong temperature, which is fine, mistakes happen. The issue I had was that a manager never came over with an apology or even an acknowledgement. When we dine at other steakhouses of this caliber, we immediately have a manager at our table with a comped steak and usually a complimentary dessert or cocktail. I feel when you spend upwards of $200 on dinner, especially for a special occasion, something should be done. After reading other reviews, others celebrating got complimentary desserts but we did not. Unfortunately, we will not be back & will stick with our usual Fleming's.
Our meat was full of black pepper and not tender. Been to many Ruth Chris before and have to say this was the worst experience. The service was very nice though. The rest decor needs serious update and the background music was oriented to people 80 years old and over.
The biggest problem with this place is the lights can not get any brighter. I was with a friend that was 81 an it was difficult for her to see her way around.. They say that Corporate knows about it. Please make the lights brighter. People do not want to eat in the dark anymore. It was something that happened back in the late 90's an early 2000's. The romantic dinning in the dark is over. We want to see. Older people will not dine there if they can not see the menu even. Pretty stupid using a flashlight. Food is great, service is wonderful.
