Ruth's Chris Steak House - West Palm Beach Ratings and Reviews
The food was delicious; the four of us had the rib steak special. The waiter seemed to have a 'chip' on his shoulder, especially when I asked him not to clear the table while one of us was still eating. I think I insulted him. Besides that, I would certainly return; it was not the first time we were there.
This is a very inconsistent Ruth’s Chris. It seems at least half the time an order comes out wrong. This time my wife’s cosmo came out with sour mix when asked without. She drank a third and asked to switch h to Caymus wine at $27 a glass. We had five between us and when we got the check they did not remove the cost.
My steak came out rare and cold without the trademark sizzle which was ordered medium. The manager came out and offered an additional side dish . Huh why bother!! This kitchen has quality intros problems . North Palm Beach is pretty impeccable . If it was not convenient to the Kravis center we would never go back.
We have dined there about three previous times and we always enjoyed the food.
This time was unfortunately a very busy night with a convention going on, so there were many walk ins and the restaurant was full. However we did have a reservation, so naturally expected to be seated in a better location than we were. We were at the table right beside the hallway into the restaurant with a constant flow of in and out. We also found the service to be very slow as when we were seated we were given water but waited 15 minutes before flagging someone to call a waiter so we could order drinks.
The waiter that did serve us was very nice and apologetic, and as it was very busy we were patient. Again the wait was long to order our meals and we had two plates of bread and totally finished our bottle of wine before ordering. When we did receive our food, my husband and one of our guests ordered their steaks, one rare and one medium rare. They came back as medium rare and almost well done. We noted this to the waiter who asked if we wanted to change it, we did not think it was nice to do but mentioned to him to let the kitchen know. He came back with a complimentary dessert. All in all not the best experience as Ruth Chris was a stop for our guests each time they visited us. They have mentioned that they would likely not go back. We are disappointed.
We have been to numerous Ruth’s Chris steakhouses. We are always pleased with the food and service. In the one in West Palm Beach, we found the noise level incredibly loud. We also found the tables were closer together than one would expect at an upscale restaurant. Having to be careful when getting up because you could easily bang into someone else is unacceptable. I had a raspberry/rosemary cosmo and it was incredible, fragrance, flavor and presentation. Food was excellent, which we have found in every other Ruth’s Chris. Empty plates were removed quickly. A glass of wine did not come for over 15 minutes, in fact, not until I was done with my entree. It took almost that long to get someone to our table for coffee. We knew the room was full and we were in no rush but one should not have to wait that long for coffee. Overall, a lovely experience but at a frightful price.
Ruth Chris has a great reputation as a steak house chain. Though very nice, the wait staff was disorganized and not on the ball. We had to make the same request a couple of times before fulfilled. Wait staff did not clear the table of appetizer dishes before the entree arrived, and then was confused as to who ordered what dish. My wife and I each had the NY strip, and our boys split the porterhouse. After serving us, the waiter was reading his notes trying to figure out to whom to serve the porterhouse. Stark was tasty but heavy on the salt. There are better steak houses in the greater palm beach area. Try Meat Market, Ave & Louie’s, or Morton’s.
We go to this location often but the food and service here is not as good as other locations during out last few visits. Food was not hot. The service was terrible and the steak was mediocre. I would try it again only because it is so convenient for dinner before the Kravis theater close by.
Disappointing we arrived at 6:00 the waiter we were going to the Theater at 8:00 he said no problem you will be done by 7:30. That didn’t happen the waiter disappeared for 30 minutes was 7:45 by the time we saw him and thus needed to rush out to get to the theater. Steaks were good, shrimp were undercooked, baked potatoe undercooked. Overall not a good experience and will not return.
Great Pre-theatre dining for the Kravitz center. We sat in the bar. My husband ordered from the bar menu and I ordered from the regular menu so our meals were served separately, which was not great. Our server was apologetic and delightful over the confusion, so it did make up for the gross error. I ordered the petit rib eye with sides of loaded baked potato and creamed spinach. My husband ordered the hamburger and fries and enjoyed. The far better value was the burger even though we did not get there in time for happy hour prices. The full price burger was a much better value than my meal. That is all for my comments. Starting to think , of alternative pre theatre dining.
We gave this place another try after the epic fail of our last visit. We like the location next to the theater of which we are season ticket holders. It helped that we had a $50 gift card extended to us after that fateful visit. This time the service was better, our waitress was very pleasant. We had to ask for the "Show Menu" which is price fix "deal". Well, its not a deal. The portions are much smaller. For the two of us, no alcoholic drinks, the bill was still $130 including tip.
Initially they gave us an awful table location. When we complained, they gave us the best table in the house. Service was terrific. Food was fabulous. My salad was served with dressing when I asked for dressing on the side but immediately rectified. My Tuna was wayyyy over cooked but again, immediately rectified. Everyone else’s meals was served correctly the first time. All were beyond delicious. Well worth the price.
New Years dinner. Waited 30 minutes for a bottle of aqua panna, steak came out ice cold. Told server. They just heated up a plate and subsequently over cooked the steak. Didn't eat it. Server disengaged, bussers poorly trained. Super disappointed. Never going back.
Made a 7:15 reservation. Got to the restaurant, was told that they were clearing tables and to wait a few minutes at he bar. Ok. In bar area, there were plenty of empty tables. Didn’t think much of it. After 25 minutes asked hostess if our table was ready, they said it would be 7 more minutes. Odd, but again ok. At the 45 minute mark another hostess had come over to us and said your table is ready, you can sit here - at one of the empty bar tables. At this point, was seriously annoyed. We asked, and were told originally, that we’d be seated in the balcony area of the restaurant, this was New Years Eve. Was completely annoyed that they made us wait 45 minutes to just be given a crappy bar table. After voicing my opinion on how this was unacceptable, they took us to the balcony area, where half the tables there were empty. Also empty, the other half of the restaurant. I understand they stagger seatings, but don’t accept reservations, make people wait, and then give them some crappy bar table. Service was good but you could tell they were rushing everyone. It will be a long time before we come back to the WPB Ruth’s Chris.
Raw steak, then re-cooked the same meat... bright it to me in a bubbling plate of.hot oil (why would i want to est tgst?)..still raw in the center! Must have been frozen to start. So awful. Fix your kitchen and get a new manager who knows what medium rare is... geez you are a steakhouse, learn to cook steak
We went to celebrate our 44th wedding anniversary. Were given a very nice welcome, taken to a specially decorated table, and in general, treated like royalty. Our head server Jose was very knowledgeable, welcoming, provided unobtrusive but warm service in assisting with the orders. Jose is one of the best servers we've ever had.
The food was excellent, all we expected. We'll certainly return.
The worst Ruth’s Chris experience we’ve ever had . Our grandson has peanut allergies was told when we called a certain item was safe then when we ordered it they said not safe then it went downhill from there we eat at the Ruth’s in Michigan quite frequently but never again here in Florida
We were offered to sit in a private room and said we would be charged 3% of our bill. It was not worth it. We felt like we were an after thought. In addition, the food that evening was substandard. We were looking forward to a special family dinner and we were very disappointed. We will not be returning.
Despite requesting to sit outside, where there were many empty tables, we waited 20 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. We had to asked again about seating before we were accommodated.
After receiving the bill the waiter took the credit card but did not return to the table. We had to seek management assistance to locate the waiter to pay and retrieve the credit card.
I’ve frequented this location for over five years. The food quality has slowly gone down hill. The last three times I’ve visited, have pushed me to the point of not returning.
For a moment, I thought it was the Ruth’s Chris brand, slipping away. But last month, we visited the location in Indianapolis, and it was everything I’ve always promised others Ruth’s Chris would be.
