Ruth's Chris Steak House - West Palm Beach Ratings and Reviews
We arrived a little early, were shown to our table right away. It was Valentine’s Day, but we were going to a performance at the Kravis Center. We told the waitstaff twice about our need to go to the performance around 7:30. Plenty of time.
It took a full 45 minutes to get our dinner. We had no salad, no appetizer, just the entree. A very simple service. After about 30 minutes we asked where our dinner was. “It’s on its way.”
I was ready to leave.
Eventually, after our steaks came, the manager came to apologize. He could give no reason for this poor service.
Very very poor service. “I do apologize” is insufficient for a restaurant charging $46 for an 8 oz filet with no vegetables. We are not tourists, frequent the restaurants around Palm Beach and Boca Raton. I’ve never had this experience, wont go back.
Our waiter didn't put in one of the appetizers we ordered (crab stack). He ordered the wrong steak (we ordered the TBone for $58 but he brought us the 40 oz porterhouse for $91.) Manager came by and did the right thing by honoring the tbone price. Then when we were finished, our (crappy) waiter brought us the check. We were like, ok guess we're not having coffee or dessert, since he never even asked. We'll be back, but not anytime soon. Mortons, Capital Grill, NY Prime and Shula's steakhouse- here we come.
Mistakes Happen; is is what you do about them that makes or breaks you. Our steak came out medium-rare not rare; we share the large filet so I was fine with my portion, My wife was besides herself and we were running a little late for the show at Kravis. The manager and the server jumped to our rescue, got he a perfect small filet and left her portion of the large filet for me to do with as I wished. They got her stek out so fast that I had not even started on mine!!! Competition take notice, that is how you fix simple problems; with a fix and a sense of urgency and a smile.
Disappointed in quality of steaks for the price- they charge prime rates for choice beef. Also, HATE the small plates. No room for the extra sides. It’s convenient for the theater , that’s the only reason we went there. Probably will go next door next time.
We celebrated our 25th Anniversary here, before going to the theater. Everyone came to wish us Happy Anniversary! The staff was so attentive! We we thrilled to see there was a specially priced menu, for those going to Kravis Center.
We want to thank everyone for making this a truly special evening!
We definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone!
I've been to Ruth Chris's in several different cities and find them to be consistently high quality. The steaks are excellent and for a person who doesn't want to eat a pound of beef, there are smaller portions and the option to share with another diner. I don't recall previous steaks I have enjoyed at an RC to have as much pepper as this one. Too much for me. Had I known I would have asked for a limit on the pepper. This is a great place for pre-theater dining, as it was this night. We used the valet parking (a deal for $8), walked over to the kravis for the Miami ballet, and then returned to RC to get our car for a quick exit.
They are taking their patrons for granted and doing a constant disservice to them.
Yes , it is crowded and tables are in demand, if only due to their convenient location next to Kravis, but the food is woefully overpriced and poorly, and carelessly, prepared.
The Caesar salad is a cruel joke...a few pieces of white lettuce with some cheese strewn on top, and the vegetables, though steamed, weren’t fresh and had to be exchanged for others.
The filet was over cooked and unattractive, but they did honor our wish to cook it salt and butter free. It was tasty, but not to the extent that it was worth its weight in gold, as the price would have you believe.
The one upside was the very cheerful and responsive waitress, with other staff equally as courteous.
So: unless it’s raining, all other places are closed, and you are very rich: stay. away.
They were unable to seat me for 40 minutes. The server didn't come for another 10 minutes and then we were told to hurry and order before the kitchen closed. So we had to order drinks, appetizers, food and dessert all at once. It was a birthday celebration and it was awful!!
Really disappointed in this experience. We came in from out of town and wanted to try Ruth's Chris. It was a disaster. We arrived on time for our reservation, but were made to wait. When we got in, they put us in the side room for overflow (no ambience, some ppl even asked to be moved to the main room.) Our server was lovely but food took a long time. Food was all okay to good, but nothing special and at those prices. Table next to us complained to the manager as their food took forever and came out all wrong. Feels like they're phoning it in over here and surviving on the brand name. Would not re-visit.
A place we visit often before shows at the Kravis Center. This time we were 8 of us. Everything was just perfect, food, wine, excellent as usual. This time the only draw back was the attitude of our waiter, who, when we wanted to split the bill per couple gave us a lecture how this may take much more time, delay our departure to the show and complicate his work. He tried to convince us that we should just split it evenly, ignoring that half the party had ordered wines and half just had water or a soda. I recognize that we should have told him at the beginning that we wanted separate checks, but his reaction and his way of trying to ignore our request was inappropriate.
The food was delicious; the four of us had the rib steak special. The waiter seemed to have a 'chip' on his shoulder, especially when I asked him not to clear the table while one of us was still eating. I think I insulted him. Besides that, I would certainly return; it was not the first time we were there.
This is a very inconsistent Ruth’s Chris. It seems at least half the time an order comes out wrong. This time my wife’s cosmo came out with sour mix when asked without. She drank a third and asked to switch h to Caymus wine at $27 a glass. We had five between us and when we got the check they did not remove the cost.
My steak came out rare and cold without the trademark sizzle which was ordered medium. The manager came out and offered an additional side dish . Huh why bother!! This kitchen has quality intros problems . North Palm Beach is pretty impeccable . If it was not convenient to the Kravis center we would never go back.
We have dined there about three previous times and we always enjoyed the food.
This time was unfortunately a very busy night with a convention going on, so there were many walk ins and the restaurant was full. However we did have a reservation, so naturally expected to be seated in a better location than we were. We were at the table right beside the hallway into the restaurant with a constant flow of in and out. We also found the service to be very slow as when we were seated we were given water but waited 15 minutes before flagging someone to call a waiter so we could order drinks.
The waiter that did serve us was very nice and apologetic, and as it was very busy we were patient. Again the wait was long to order our meals and we had two plates of bread and totally finished our bottle of wine before ordering. When we did receive our food, my husband and one of our guests ordered their steaks, one rare and one medium rare. They came back as medium rare and almost well done. We noted this to the waiter who asked if we wanted to change it, we did not think it was nice to do but mentioned to him to let the kitchen know. He came back with a complimentary dessert. All in all not the best experience as Ruth Chris was a stop for our guests each time they visited us. They have mentioned that they would likely not go back. We are disappointed.
We have been to numerous Ruth’s Chris steakhouses. We are always pleased with the food and service. In the one in West Palm Beach, we found the noise level incredibly loud. We also found the tables were closer together than one would expect at an upscale restaurant. Having to be careful when getting up because you could easily bang into someone else is unacceptable. I had a raspberry/rosemary cosmo and it was incredible, fragrance, flavor and presentation. Food was excellent, which we have found in every other Ruth’s Chris. Empty plates were removed quickly. A glass of wine did not come for over 15 minutes, in fact, not until I was done with my entree. It took almost that long to get someone to our table for coffee. We knew the room was full and we were in no rush but one should not have to wait that long for coffee. Overall, a lovely experience but at a frightful price.
