Ruth's Chris Steak House - Weehawken Ratings and Reviews
Let me start off by saying the manager and our waitress were great! Not defensive, accepted responsibility and super friendly! Having said that, everything was off last night. My gluten free shrimp was served with bread, my first steak was well done and the second steak was rare. I know it’s their thing to have scorching hot plates, but I totally burnt my mouth. Will not be going back any time soon.
We visited Ruth's Chris for New Years Eve-- the guy checking us in the at front forgot about us and after waiting about 15 minutes for our table to be ready I went over to ask how much longer. He then said that he was sorry and that he gave our table to another party-- we were sitting right in front of the host stand and listened to every name that was called so we do not believe that this was true. We ended up sitting at the worst table in the whole place next to a cold marble wall with no view that we were hoping for. We are newlyweds and were hoping for a nice view of the city and a big night out on the town. We were very disappointed in the check-in process. I even asked the women seating us if she could find us a different table and I explained the situation but she said they were so busy and sold out for new years eve. However, they did offer us a glass of champagne on the house to celebrate our marriage and took a photo of us to bring home which was very nice.
Took my hubby here for a nice birthday dinner. Staff was okay but not very attentive. I ordered the surf n turf, my steak was still moo-ing at me even though I ordered medium well, so they had to cook it some more. For the price, the plates were not very presentable. They looked like the chef just threw steaks and some seafood on the plates and sent them out. Our server spent more time chit chatting with what appeared to be either her friends or regular customers. Overall, food was nothing to rave about and the service was meh- definitely not worth the $200 check.
The table service was great. Our server was informative and professional. The initial, front desk service could be more attentive. The food was slightly disappointing. At those prices, the food should be right on the mark. Overall, I would come back to this restaurant.
Overall good, but asked for a medium rare filet and got a rare one. Had eaten half of it by the time i got to the rare part and it was actually still cold. Left a nice chunk of filet on the plate. Also asked for a Margarita for my wife. Not sure what she got, but it tasted nothing like a Margarita. Everything else about the meal was good although it is not my favorite steak house in the NYC area.
I really like Ruth Chris. I enjoyed my meal but had an over zealous waiter that kept checking every few minutes. I had pork chop. It was good but a bit overcooked. The bread they bring to the table is heavenly. I would go back....and hope I don't get that waiter. Issac was his name I think. He was nice but not ready for Ruth Chris standards, in my opinion.
Pleasant experience from the time you check in till leaving. Staff is professional, seasoned, experienced. Happy hour is fun! Bartenders are awesome with clear knowledge of are of making cocktails. Dining room is staffed by professionals who not only provide a happy, pleasant dining experience but also have a clear knowledge of the food they serve. Adding information as to how each dish is prepared is very helpful and enriches the dining experience.
Service is spot on, pleasant and they go beyond the usual mechanical approach that other restaurants take. Add the "killer" Manhattan view, it's an experience worth taking by dining at R.C's Weehawken! Well done R.C, thank you!
We came to Ruth’s Chris for a birthday dinner—unfortunately my guest ordered her $62 steak medium and it came out cold/blue inside and had to be sent back, which ultimately ruined both meals as I waited for hers to come back and my food became cold. So we ate all of our sides and then the manager came over to offer us additional sides, which we obviously didn’t want, and didn’t offer to refund the uncooked steak.
I understand we we 40 minutes late for our 8 PM reservation, however we have been there several times with no issues. We were taken to the bar area for dinner. There was a Birthday party of at least 20 people that we were seated next to. Extremely uncomfortable as we were celebrating our Anniversary! The single waitress was overwhelmed and a very nice lady help her. Not the standard of service nor food we have come to expect. I guess I'll go to Charthouse from now On!
Everything was very good. I just don’t know that the food justifies the price. Our waiter was wonderful and since we were staying in hotel and couldn’t take left overs he guided us in what to order so we wouldn’t have too much food for one meal. I truly appreciated this help. Because extra food would have been wasted.
