Ruth's Chris Steak House - Walnut Creek Ratings and Reviews
Anniversary dinner with my wife. The staff had red rose pedals for the table, nice touch. My filet was overcooked but they made up for it offering to cook another steak and a complimentary dessert. I thought the service was excellent and the staff were attentive. I will visit again.
As soon as we arrived, they seated us and asked if we were celebrating a special occasion. We were celebrating my best friend’s anniversary engagement from 3 years ago. The waiter then dropped rose petals all over the table. So sweet! This restaurant, as well as the engagement that happened, has sentimental values. I love them both and wanted them to enjoy their evening. We also got a round of free drinks which came out of no where but so thankful for such a generous way of making us feel special. The dinner was amazing and then they brought over a delicious dessert. They never fail to please. This place is amazing! ☺️☺️☺️
Overall it was ok. You go there for the food and serive experience. However the service this time around was lacking. We had 2 empty plates prior to the main dish coming out that never got picked up for the entire time we were there. Our glasses of water was empty for a good 10 - 15 minutes. Not what it use to be.
Tonight we were seated in an extended room. The room was prettying noisy kids running around the room. I am all about bringing children to restaurants and I know it can be boring for them, but they should not run and scream in certain restaurants. I can definitely suggest some restaurants that encourage yelling and running.
Our server was Stefan he was very attentive which we appreciate. He was very good at communicating.
Our shrimp cocktail was chilled nicely and served with a simple cocktail sauce and fresh lemon. Our chopped salad with lite dressing was delicious. The ribeye was cooked to a perfect medium and the browned butter on the hot plate made the flavors more delicious. The au gratin potato’s were firm and cooked and tasty.
We will definitely return in the future.
Check in area had a bad odor and host was abrupt. After this though our meal was great! Food was hot and delicious. Server was attentive as well as others helping him. We would go back. Front staff needs to be more friendly and they need to address the smell at the check-in area.
Second bad experience at this faux steak house. The staff is inexperienced, left us in the bar for 30 minutes and had forgotten we were waiting after checking in; The insult was that they refused to honor my $250 gift certificate claiming it was already used when I had it in the original envelope it came in. We were taking a client's wife to dinner for her birthday, total embarrassment. They comped nothing after treating me like a second class citizen, spent over $500, just %^&*ing ridiculous. NEVER GOING BACK TO THIS PLACE.
It seemed as if staff members were a little more tired that night. We were brought the wrong item twice. One of the items was a side that my child ordered, the server said the plate was not hot and it was not but the wrong order. When they brought the correct order for my child the plate was steaming hot. Empty appetizer plates were left at our table while the staff member was there twice. The same with empty bread plate and butter. Our food took a little longer to come out than on other days.
service was less than & our steak was not prepared as requested - I sent my steak back, my BFF sent her steak back twice & we had to ask 3 different staff for drawn butter which we asked for while ordering but didn't receive - The management went above & beyond to rectify things; however, we were already frustrated due to the fact that the last 2 visits there weren't any better
Was very pleased with our meal and the hostess was able to accommodate my request of a booth. The tables make you feel like you are at an elementary school trying to eat a meal. (This all being if you are over 6'3 or just a large man) Your knees are barely under the table and if you get a cramp and suddenly move the table is coming up.
Food was good & Aaron was a great server. He gave us solid recommendations. The hostess was so cold and fake that it left a sour taste in our mouths that we couldn’t shake and couldn’t provide a higher rating due to that. We won’t be back...unfortunate first impression. At this price point it’s about the full experience - everyone and everything needs to be on point.
This was a great dinner for our anniversary. Because I put that it was our anniversary in the reservation, they had rose petals on the table and the staff all wished us a happy anniversary. They also brought out a tasty complimentary dessert with a candle and Happy Anniversary written on the plate in chocolate. The service was wonderful, friendly and responsive. The food was delicious as well. They have the best steak!
It’s been a few months since my last visit to a Ruth’s Chris’ restaurant, and my first time to the Walnut Creek branch. Their food never disappoint, steak and sides are cooked to perfection. Service equally good!
It’s a smaller restaurant compared to the one in San Francisco, and the entrance was not as dramatic. Small and plain reception area, a little dark, but two days later, I can still imagine and taste the food I had. It was that good!
My only complaint was the table where we were seated had a musty odor, like an old attic. Also, while dining, there were fruit flies around our table and it was quite disturbing.
Will always still go back though when schedule and budget permit. But maybe just in the San Francisco location.
I had made this reservation weeks ago. I specifically asked for a booth as we were celebrating two birthdays. The first table we were shown to was right outside the kitchen. They did move us to another table that was ok. I noticed Birthday decorations on other tables but not on the first or second table we were shown too. We have dined here many times. Disappointed and expensive.
Even with a early reservation and with the restaurant not even close to full, the table given was subpar. The service to other customers were a bit faster than ours. I would hate to think it's because there is ageism, as we are younger and visibly not from the area - but that is the vibe I got. Probably assumed we didn't have much money. We got the seafood tower and porterhouse for two and some sides. Sides were as expected. The crab wasn't presented in a way that was easy to shell. The steak was underseasoned. I've been to 3 other Ruth's Chris and this was the worse in terms of quality of food and service.
I am a fan of Ruth’s Chris. What is of vast importance to me is service and consistency. Ruth’s Chris delivers both. It is pricey and I would love to confirm that is local sustainable conscious and that their includes some organic items. In addition, I was very appreciative of the effective communication betwween OpenTable and the restaurant staff. I included the special occasion that we celebrated that evening and almost every member of the staff gave a birthday greeting. I hadn’t received that response before without reminding and/or prompting the staff even in upscale dining establishments. As stated, I always enjoy my experience.
