The energy in the restaurant this evening was terrible. Our server was very sweet but terrible. When the food cane it was delicious as expected. Not sure if it was the kitchen or if the restaurant was short staffed. Our cocktails came w dinner. Unacceptable! Everything was slow. Not sure if I will return to this site. May look for other Ruth Chris locations. Please fix it.
My 15 year old sons birthday is today and my oldest son age 23 and I took him to Ruth’s chris. The steaks, mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, service is all unparalleled. A lovely dinner with a very courteous and interesting server named Christian!
I have been to 4 different Ruth's in different parts of the country. I expect a lot from Ruth's...great food and a great experience. I was there this weekend, and the food was very good, but I spent 2.5 hours there and more money then I would have expected for the level of service provided. The waiter was very nice, but I sat at the table for a full 30 minutes with water and bread and nothing else, not having even placed an order for drinks. The rest. was not busy, my section was 3/4 full when I arrive and 9/10's empty by the time I left. Above it asks me if i would recommend it to a friend...and for the first time in my times at Ruth's, I am on the fence.
Typically, it’s a great experience for us at RC. For some reason tonight, the food took a long time to come out, the service wasn’t attentive, we had dirty dishes on the table for a while, things we requested never came out, and the filet came out very dry, even though it looked to be cooked correctly. Usually, a manger also comes out to check on patrons, but that didn’t happen tonight. We’ll probably give it another chance, as we traditionally love it, but tonight left quite a bit to be desired.
We came to celebrate my son’s birthday. The staff were wonderful; the food was fantastic; we waited long than we would have liked - especially after finishing eating it was probably a delay of 20 minutes before the table was cleared. All in all, we had a positive experience.
Was a bit of a wait despite the reservation. Food was just ok for the price.
This was my first time at this restaurant. Wow! Steaks were excellent and perfectly cooked. The lobster was really good (first time having lobster). The dessert (White Chocolate Bread Pudding) was amazing! Our server (Tyler) was excellent! as was Adan. Tyler was accommodating and professional. The only low point was that we had 6:45 reservations and it took 20 minutes to get seated after being told it would only be 5 minutes. Other than that.... Can't wait to go back!
Just wanted to thank everyone for making our anniversary special, from the rose petals on the table to the well wishes and the scrumptious desert that read Happy Anniversary!
The steaks were very impress me when I have the first bite. The service was excellent. Our sever gave us complementary mini cheese tars when we told her we need to skip the dessert coz we were too full. The portion of the side dishes were huge. One steak with one dish can totally feed me up and my hubby. Highly recommend this place.
Our server Karina was amazing and the food awesome as always
Great service by all the staff working in our section and very attentive to all the diners!
Went here for my birthday. The first time was amazing, the second not so much. Service and food was subpar. Will definitely be dining at a new steakhouse next time.
Went for a birthday celebration. Everything was wonderful. Our server, Nick was excellent.
Need to add some music for ambience and engage more professionally trained waiters and servers
Friendly staff, I never got water refill, manager usually comes by never did. Food: there was so much fat left on the lamb chops, wasn’t pleasant. Service was very slow and server didn’t come by
Food was great and service very attentive. They made my 65 BD memorable...
We were seated immediately. Our table was in the quieter section much to my appreciation. Our waiters were attentive overall although Tyler was absolutely wonderful! His desert suggestion was delicious (bread pudding) and I appreciate the extra effort in decorating the desert tray to commemorate my birthday/promotion celebration.
Ruth’s Chris is one of my favorite restaurants and I will most assuredly return as well as recommend this location for its impeccable service.
My son had the Ribeye Steak well done; even with it being well it was extremely tender and tasty. I had the stuffed chicken it was amazing along with mashed potatoes and the creamy spinach yummy. The first time I went to Ruth Chris was about 20 years ago in San Francisco and was disappointed. I have to say they have truly committed to PERFECTION especially with the Steaks and HOT PLATES!!! Good job Ruth Chris Walnut Creek!!!
Food and atmosphere very nice for celebrating a birthday. Our server not so enthusiastic and almost too brisk. Seemed disappointed we didn't order dessert since we were too full by then. All in all, the dinner was nice but nothing to write home about. Would probably go somewhere else for a celebration next time.
Appetizer was calamari which was crispy with a tangy sauce. Excellent lamb cooked just right and the sea bass was delicate and buttery. All so yummy. We chose Dao Reserve it was nice with our dinner. On the sides we had creamed spinach always a winner with the scalloped potatoes hot and cheesy.
We don’t come very often but we enjoyed each sip of wine and every bite of their delicious food. 😋
Not our first dine at RC. HOWEVER, the 4 person table next to us were total loud mouthed drunks. Very annoying. Luckily we were leaving sooner than later. Seems to me wait staff and management could have moved them to the alley...
I had high hopes for what was supposed to be a really nice restaurant. I took my fiancé here to have dinner. We didn’t get our bar drinks until after we were done with our salad. I ordered the filet medium well and it came out medium rare. I kindly asked our server to take it back and he did. I waited a while until It came back to me medium and I didn’t want to wait any longer. The plate was hot just like they said so I continued cooking it on my plate. The food was sub par and I was definitely disappointed and I wouldn’t recommend anyone I know to come and I myself will not be going back.
The stakes are very expensive and trouble in quality. For great stakes and food in general visit Flemings just around the corner.
As always, the food was excellent. We really enjoyed the special flavors of the ravioli appetizer. The filet mignon was cooked exactly as ordered and was very tender. I had the bleu cheese crust on mine and I think that next time I'll pass on that. Their cheesecake is something special, in my opinion; very rich and creamy with a raspberry coulis and some fresh fruit on the side. I would have like more of the coulis but the amount was okay for about half of the cheesecake. The reason I didn't give it a 5-star rating is because I thought the service was bit off. Nothing big; the server didn't bring sugar with my coffee and so I requested some. Then, a few minutes later, he came out serving another table and still no server. I finally caught him to request it again. And, overall, I thought the service was a bit slow. There's measured (a nice unhurried pace allowing for conversation and there's slow, and this night, I thought, was slow. I do love the new decor; it's a bit brighter and more modern.
Service was amazing. I wish the menu was a little more simple or more explanation on the chef specialty dishes, what comes with main course and what not. I was a little lost at the time of ordering. I enjoyed amd plan to come back. The price it's a little to high for the food served. On the Ruth classic I still don't know if the wine was included or not. Lol. Got none.
We have been to Ruth's Chris Steak House many times for special occasions. Two out of three of our steaks we not cooked properly. The one that was undercooked was sent back to be cooked more. The other was overcooked and was eaten as is. Next time we will send both back. We were disappointed that 2 of 3 were not cooked to their standard. We will probably pick another place for our special dinner.
The food and service were great but the fact that a dress code is in order doesnt sit well with me especially since the Ruth Chris in San Francisco doesn't care about attire at all but other then that still my favorite steakhouse
Went on a Sunday and was pleasantly surprised. Ordered the lamb chops which were scrumptious. My date ordered the filet mignon, the asparagus and the fried calamari. The beef was good but not outstanding, the asparagus good, as was the calamari.
In service the real stand-out was the wine steward. He came to the table when my first three picks from the wine list were out of stock. He sat down and we had an enjoyable exchange about wines in California , Australia, Argentina and Italy. Very informed young man. His final recommendation was a Cab- Syrah blend that paired well with the lamb chops.
Our dining experience here was pleasant and quiet - just what we wanted. Service was excellent, and the food was delicious! Good menu choices and good value for the price.
Had a wonderful time for my boyfriends birthday! Thank you!
They were really lovely, fabulous food
fine dining at its best. Great service, great food. They took extra steps to recognize our 39th anniversary. Would recommend this restaurant especially for special events.
Our server was great! Everyone was friendly and accommodating.
We went there to celebrate our 33rd year wedding anniversary. When we were seated at our table it was covered in rose petals by the staff. The staff was friendly and every staff member that came by our table wished us Happy Anniversary. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. Chris, the manager also came by and wished us well and chatted for awhile. Our deserts came with candles and a Happy Anniversary message written in chocolate. We will definitely go back to celebrate another anniversary.
My wife steak was cooked right and tasted good I ordered the medallions they were way over cooked a one of the two and my dog got the other one. It was our anniversary and I was so looking forward to a great meal. I miss Vic Stewart's never had a bad steak there. I blame myself for part of it I should have sent the steak back but it was our anniversary and I was trying to make things good. Next year I will go back to Il Pavone's
Outstanding as usual.
Another excellent dining experience!
Thank you for making my daughter's 21st birthday a wonderful experience.
Delicious!! And they sweetly had little "happy birthday" confetti scattered on the table (we were celebrating my daughter's birthday) and there was a beautiful birthday cake dessert for her at the end of our meal as well.
Our server Mathew was great, I hope when we come back he will still be there and be our server again
