Reliable Food, Service, and Ambience: In all of South Hampton Roads, this is our "Go To" destination for an excellent meal, perfectly prepared and served by experienced and accommodating staff in an atmosphere of calm, engaging elegance. For any occasion they will pamper you, and promptly attend to your every need and request.
This is a 5 Star experience every time you want to show anyone how much they mean to you.
Everything from our festive pre-dinner cocktails to our delicious desserts was perfection. The only thing better was the service, which was just delightful. A perfect way to spend our Thanksgiving! We will definitely do it again!
A very warm welcome by the hostess and Matre 'D. Prompt seating and service by our waiter and his assistant. Delicious food. "Happy Birthday" and cake & presents confetti on the table was a special touch. I enjoyed my birthday dinner at Ruth's Chris very much.
I’m a big fan of Ruth’s Chris but this visit wasn’t that great. The service was lacking (perhaps a newer, less polished/experienced waiter), the entrees took much longer than usual and one of the two steaks was way over cooked. I didn’t send it back because we had already been there nearly 2 hours at that point and didn’t have time. Maybe next time will be better.
What a joy to dine at a place that can truly accommodate dietary restrictions. The Brussels sprouts were naked with olive oil, rather than butter and the lamb chops were succulent and tasty. Dessert was a flavorful raspberry sorbet, recommended by Stacie, our delightful waitress. My companions had superb rib-eyes. What a delight to get a safe (GF/DF) meal!!
I've been to several Ruth's Chris locations across the country for business meals when the company was picking up the tab and have always left thinking this: excellent meal and outstanding service, but was it worth the price? Without a doubt Ruth's Chris is a top shelf Steak House. Attentive service, great ambiance, and stellar steaks and sides. Excellent wine list. Best Old Fashioned cocktail I've had in a while. But a little pricey and that is the problem I have always had with Ruth's Chris, I can do a prime cut steak just as good at home. Maybe it's my blue collar roots. Frankly, if I hadn't had the $200 gift card, I don't think we would have gone. All that being said it was an excellent meal with very attentive service and the Virginia Beach location upholds the Ruth's Chris standard of excellence.
We have been a few times. We love to come here for special occasions. We love the wine selection. I even like how some of the really good wine comes by the glass. The filet dinner special was great. A little bit of everything. The service is just amazing every time we go!
Ruth's Chris never disappoints. From our greeting, to our cheerful host, to our upbeat server and her assistant, to the generous size cocktails, to the outstanding steaks and accompaniments, our dinner could not have been better. We valet parked our car before dinner, enjoyed a wonderful concert at the Sandler Center afterwards, and then walked back to pick up our car. A great evening at Town Center!
Service was great as always. My wife and I have been to Ruth Chris several times and always had a great steak. We usually get the Kobe Ribeye for two (about $110.00-120.00). It was always an excellent steak and extremely tender. (literally it would melt in your mouth) This time we ordered the Tomahawk Ribeye for two. (still $115.00) It was a very tough steak with a funny after taste. (It did not taste like beef, corn fed or grass fed) I wish the server would have told us there was a huge difference between the two steaks. They informed us after the meal that they were not the same steak but charge the same price. It is my fault for not verifying when we ordered that the quality of meat would not be what we remembered from the Kobe steak. I thought they just changed the name after all the controversy a while back about what you could call Kobe beef vs. Wagyu beef vs. Prime beef. Again my fault for assuming what I should expect based on price. I would recommend Ruth Chris for a good dinner on a special occasion because the service is always great. However, I would never recommend the Tomahawk Ribeye at $115.00. (Maybe at $25.00 but never $115.00 it was that bad) I hope this helps someone make a better decision than we did.
My wife and i dined here as part of our annual vacation to VA Beach. Eating at this Ruth's Chris is one of the things we look forward to, and this year did not disappoint. The entire staff was outstanding! From the host to the wait staff everyone was as professional and friendly as could be. My wife and I both opted for the seasonal specials - these have to be the best deals in VA Beach for prime steaks. The salads (Caesar for her, Beets with Goat Cheese for me) were fresh, crisp, and scrumptious (and full size portions even tough we were having the 3 course specials). My wife loves filet mignon, as do I, so she paired the 6 oz portion with shrimp while I upgraded to the 11 oz, which for the price with salad, side, and dessert has to be the best value in VA Beach! I have eaten hundreds of filet mignons at all of the top steakhouses across the country, and I have to say the filet I had during this visit was the best I've ever had. It was perfect! My wife had the same reaction when she ate her steak. The sides (mashed potatoes and succotash) were delicious and full size portions as well. The apple dessert was the perfect sweet treat to end a perfect meal. We can't wait until next summer when we come to visit again! Keep up the great work!
Ask the host for a table outside , she quit walking with us and said " its first come first served" and walked back to her desk. Sat down and within 2 min. 3 people started smoking cigars ! Had to get up and move. My drink was made incorrectly , my $23.00 fried lobster was still in the shell and was as big as a large prawn. The outside music was hard rock and so loud it as hard to have a conversation . Waite staff was slammed with too many tables which turned into slow/no service.
We have been to Ruth's dozens of times in many locations. this one will not be on of radar for awhile.
Anniversary celebration! Impeccable service, delicious food, wonderful ambience. Eclectic Florist delivered their beautiful dozen pink roses and Just Cupcakes delivered their dozen pink rose cupcakes to match. Truly memorable special occasion. A big thank you to all involved!
The restaurant decor and environment do not match the cost of the food. High prices with a middle class feel. The food is not worth the cost. Way too salty, and while it was a better steak than some places, it was nothing worth the high prices. My lobster tail was tiny and over cooked. I would liken the restaurant to a Chili's but with 5 start prices. The service was great, and the wine was good, but the food is very overpriced.
