Ruth's Chris Steak House - Virginia Beach Ratings and Reviews
I've never Ruth's Chris unhappy. The service is always top notch and the food is incredible. It is pricey, but people know that prior to making a reservation and eating there. The quality of the food is worth the price and the overall experience ensures no one leaves unhappy.
Our experience booking dinner reservations at Ruth’s Chris via Open Table was fabulous. I mentioned my husband’s birthday as well as a table preference in my online reservation comments, and both of my requests were met. We stayed at the Westin and saw a show at the Sandler Center. Walking to and from dinner was a breeze. The wait staff was exceptional, and we could not have had a better experience.
Reservation was made in Oct to ensure availability. Request was made for seating in the main dining room and a special booth that we have had in the past was also requested and made available. A great birthday dinner and on New Years Eve. Thank the entire staff for making this a very enjoyable evening.
Overall outstanding as usual. The only detractor was a very loud young woman at a nearby table who had obviously been drinking way too much. Everyone in that wing of the restaurant had to be bothered by her. I’m not sure if withholding additional alcohol was considered but it should have been.
Overall, the food and service were outstanding.
Terrible experience on Christmas Eve. We were seated near the door and froze for the entire meal. Wait staff and other restaurant patrons kept knocking into our table and chairs as they were passing by because we were squeezed between other tables. Waitress told us that we had the worst table in the house and that "everyone hated that table." Took forever for us to receive our beverages...our salads came before our beverages arrived and before we even ordered our entrees. For a $300+ meal, we will never be back.
table service was friendly but at some point our waiter disappeared and became less attentive. he did suggest a nice glass of cabernet that was being highlighted on that night.
the rib eye steak (s) ordered mid-rare lacked any color and/or sear. color was light brown and it was drowned in butter and salt. my wife's surf and turf was terrific. sides of scalloped potatoes and sprouts were good.
did not live up to other locations I've been to (D.C./Richmond and Chicago). not horrible/bad but at the price point you've got to get it right
Reliable Food, Service, and Ambience: In all of South Hampton Roads, this is our "Go To" destination for an excellent meal, perfectly prepared and served by experienced and accommodating staff in an atmosphere of calm, engaging elegance. For any occasion they will pamper you, and promptly attend to your every need and request.
This is a 5 Star experience every time you want to show anyone how much they mean to you.
Everything from our festive pre-dinner cocktails to our delicious desserts was perfection. The only thing better was the service, which was just delightful. A perfect way to spend our Thanksgiving! We will definitely do it again!
A very warm welcome by the hostess and Matre 'D. Prompt seating and service by our waiter and his assistant. Delicious food. "Happy Birthday" and cake & presents confetti on the table was a special touch. I enjoyed my birthday dinner at Ruth's Chris very much.
I’m a big fan of Ruth’s Chris but this visit wasn’t that great. The service was lacking (perhaps a newer, less polished/experienced waiter), the entrees took much longer than usual and one of the two steaks was way over cooked. I didn’t send it back because we had already been there nearly 2 hours at that point and didn’t have time. Maybe next time will be better.
What a joy to dine at a place that can truly accommodate dietary restrictions. The Brussels sprouts were naked with olive oil, rather than butter and the lamb chops were succulent and tasty. Dessert was a flavorful raspberry sorbet, recommended by Stacie, our delightful waitress. My companions had superb rib-eyes. What a delight to get a safe (GF/DF) meal!!
I've been to several Ruth's Chris locations across the country for business meals when the company was picking up the tab and have always left thinking this: excellent meal and outstanding service, but was it worth the price? Without a doubt Ruth's Chris is a top shelf Steak House. Attentive service, great ambiance, and stellar steaks and sides. Excellent wine list. Best Old Fashioned cocktail I've had in a while. But a little pricey and that is the problem I have always had with Ruth's Chris, I can do a prime cut steak just as good at home. Maybe it's my blue collar roots. Frankly, if I hadn't had the $200 gift card, I don't think we would have gone. All that being said it was an excellent meal with very attentive service and the Virginia Beach location upholds the Ruth's Chris standard of excellence.
Great service throughout the entire meal. The drinks are a bit pricey but at least the bartender does not skimp on alcohol. Try the shrimp appetizer… it is out of this world! If mixed drinks are not your thing, go with the fantastic wine list. I promise there is something for everyone, even if you are not a wine connoisseur. Whatever you do, make sure you save room for dessert! Bon Appetit!
