We had a wonderful experience. The staff and especially Eric were outstanding.
Attentive, but not intrusive, service from Eric. Great lamb chops. We asked for a booth and got it. Nice flexibility with my special needs son. This place is always great for us. Always an enjoyable evening here. Thank you!
Ruth Chris is pretty consistent. Prices are high but the steak is good not great and the other foods are descent to good. Service is always good and I enjoy bringing my family here.
It was fine. The wine pour was disappointing. It didn’t even seem like 6oz. The steak was cooked nicely. Coffees was forgotten and then I was brought a cold cup of coffee. The Hagen Daz ice cream was not creamy.
We decided to go to Ruth Chris' for New Years Eve dinner, thinking a night out at a great restaurant would be perfect. Boy, were we wrong!!! First, we were sat next to the server's station and kitchen. When we asked if we could move the very unpleasant hostess said no, that this was the only spot available (however when we looked directly in front of us there were plenty of empty seats. When we pointed to one she said that was reserved for someone celebrating an anniversary. Like we cared!)
We asked for the manager. He was very pleasant and saw no issue whatsoever with moving us (confirming our suspicions that the hostess was just a very ugly spirited person). Then we were sat in a section where the waiter had gone to the hospital because he was sick. The woman to our left was very vocal about how bad the service was in the section. Her words rung true.
Our waiter seemed to be a novice. He was nervous and distracted. Apparently, he was trying to cover his section and some of the section for his colleague who left ill. It literally took 25 minutes for him to come to our table, and when we were not quick enough to decide what we wanted to drink, he left and said he'd be right back. He didn't. We had to call the manager three times-for our drinks, for our food (my potato was cold, my steak was not well done and was burnt, my friend's chicken was not prepared correctly, I did not get my cocktail, nor the water I requested...and on and on...and on).
Although I am sympathetic about someone being sick....it really is not my issue. If the restaurant could not handle the volume, they should not have secured so many reservations. We literally spent 2.5 hours in the restaurant, not leisurely enjoying our meal, but waiting (and requesting time and again) for our food and drinks.
The only decent part of the evening was the dessert. That the extent of it. #blah! Never again!
Very nice ambience and waiter assigned our table was terrific very knowledgeable and provided great service. Have dined here befire and in several other states. Always excellent food service ambience. Go only fir Anniversary bdays and xmas eve or new years eve but consider it special place for those occasions
The NY Strip Steak was excellent, as good as any I've ever had. The Spicy Shrimp appetizer was just OK, I wouldn't order it again. The brussel sprouts were mushy and disappointing. The mashed potatoes were good but nothing special.
Wonderful meal with great holiday specials & service was great for our large party
Always a great meal at the Tyson’s Corner Ruth’s Chris!
Always great. Never disappoints.
The food and service were very good. One critique I would have is the sweet potato casserole. It would be nice if the menu stated there was a heavy dose of sugar added to the dish. Being diabetic, we could not eat this item and, if forewarned on the menu, would not have ordered it. Other then that, the entire experience was very good.
Great food, but on the expensive side. I always feel that I am treated well, but think other locations have better experienced waitstaff. It always seems they are just on the other side of 4 star. I have a 4 and 5 star background so maybe I'm a bit more observant. It is our go to location for a "better" experience, but not for our "truly special" occasions.
This is now the 2nd year in a row on Christmas Eve with our food being sub-par. This coupled with the restaurant being backed-up on tables, which turned into a horrible atmosphere, I felt the need to post this. Patron's that were seated around the 5pm hour were taking longer than usual with their meals, which made the later reservations waiting long. So this is common on holidays and our wait wasn't bad because we were able to sit at the bar. However, because the back-up was so bad, it made the staff run around like crazy people. When cleaning up tables, things were being thrown, staff shoving each other out of the way, it was a horrible atmosphere. Our appetizers were good and that came out quickly, but our entrees took too long and when we finally got them, both my filet and my husbands filet were over cooked, dry, and hard to cut. Very disappointed. Dessert came out fast and was good. We did get a discount on our check for the inconvenience, but since our meals have been ruined 2 times in a row, I won't be back for a while. The food is just too expensive for these mishaps.
Christmas Eve; reservation for 2 at 7:30. Arrived at 7:20 and there were, conservatively, 50 people waiting for their tables. The lobby, bar and every available space were full of people, and the front desk was slammed. Unfortunately, the ONE host did not seem to grasp what was happening. It was pretty clear that she had trouble finding my name in her computer, but eventually told me it 'would be 15-20 minutes'. Subsequently, a woman we spoke with told us she had been waiting an hour for her 6:30 reservation. Not one person came around to try to update those who were waiting; there was no effort to manage the growing crowd. At 8:15, having seen several people who arrived after we did be seated, I went to the front desk to ask our status - by now there were 2 clearly experienced hosts also at the desk. The horrified host who checked my reservation noted that it had been marked as a 'no show'. She immediately seated us with apologies. Our server was average - he never once swung by the table to ask us how our food was or if we needed anything; his back server was cheery and excellent which made up somewhat for our rushed server. Ruth's Chris is a special occasion - this night was just "okay". And for the price, just "okay" is far from what I expected.
We waited 45 minutes when we had reservation. Food was not great. They were clearly understaffed or planned poorly for holiday.
HORRIBLE, shockingly so, based on previous dining experiences, at least 25 times.
1. Cocktails that were ordered when we were seated did not arrive until after salads were served and much of the ice in the cocktails had melted.
2. Thirty-five minute wait from when salad plates were removed and main course served. Main course food was cold and one order was incorrect. Our basket of crispy shoe string fries was greasy, cold and soggy, and looked half eaten as if was previously on another table.
3. We asked the kitchen server to have our waiter come to our table and he said, “I’ll get somebody.”
4. Nearly 15 minutes later a manager came and asked if everything was all right. When we asked for our correct order, she said, “I don’t know what happened,” and said the proper size filet would be coming.
5. The poorly cooked 11oz filet arrived 15-20 minutes later, more than 30 from when most of the table was originally served.
6. Our waiter disappeared, and after another long wait a new waiter came and said he was taking over. We asked for our check.
The meal had been excruciating.
We rarely go to steakhouses and when we do we want it to be special. Ruth's Chris helped make this evening very special. Great food, terrific service. My family loved it.
We took our 99-year old mom to dinner on Christmas Eve, not having been able to get out since she broke her hip in June, we wanted this to be very special. She is on a walker, so we asked in advance for an easy passage to a table, which was remembered and provided. We were seated a a room with only about 5 tables, so the noise level was low, making it easier to hear. Servers were responsive and quick. We all had steak and shrimp which was cooked perfectly as ordered. I had one of the best Manhattan cocktails ever. It could not have been more delightful and relaxing.
Graduation Dinner was great
Early Christmas dinner celebration.. It was a bit spoiled by crying kids that the parents won’t take out of the restaurant.
Food was great! The stuffed chicken breast is our go to meal.
Great food and drinks but our waiter at bar before dinner was horrible. So rude and inattentive to our group of women. Worst service that I've ever experienced at a Ruth Chris. Thankfully a lovely woman waiter came and took care of our group when she noticed that he was ignoring us. And the food/waiter when we sat down for dinner was perfect.
Server Patrick was terrific. So were the steaks. Also liked the lobster mac and cheese side.
The corn mix was luke warm and strange. The wedge salads has yellow lettuce and were bland. The lava cake was dry and over cooked. The service was good and the steaks were excellent as usual. The spinach was excellent.
Lack of attention from server and failure of server and hostess staff to try to rectify was disappointing.
Table by the kitchen, wait for drink order 30 minutes, then told they were out of ingredients for a martini. The only attentive service was the water refill. Bad evening at Ruth’s.
Had an incredible dinner complete with coffee and dessert. We shared a petite filet with cognac sauce and it melted in your mouth. Server graciously split our steak on to two hot plates which was nice. Also shared the side of au gratin potatoes and finished with berries and cream. All done perfectly!
Staff very courteous and attentive. Food outstanding as always.
Food as always was great. Was surprised--because it's never happened before--that the waiter was very inattentive, almost borderline--but not quite--rude. We had to ask for bread and he seemed a beat put out by it. What we got clearly wasn't fresh. I asked for a tomato juice and was given half a glass. The coffee was cold. Food itself was terrific. When we paid, the waiter disappeared. When we flagged him down--finally--he said the computer had gone down. If it had, why hadn't he let us know? Miraculously, it came up a minute later. I love Ruth's Chris. I was surprised by all of this.
The food was great as always. We ordered the surf and turf holiday special. Great food and very reasonable. However, it appeared to be a busy night with business gatherings and holiday parties, so the place was louder than usual. Also, they say is in a very large booth in the hallway. We spent the entire time watching the staff traffic from the kitchen and other guests being shown where the bathrooms were. We asked for a different table when we Alsace where we were going to sit, but the hostess could nit or would not accommodate us. Overall, the meal was great, the ambiance not. Will think twice about a follow up visit.
Wonderful experience. Both the good and the service were excellent.
Typical Ruth dinner. They have an excellent wine list. Our waiter wasn’t as attentive as a Ruth server usually is.
James ! Great Host

We went here for my Dads birthday and have to say it was disappointing. Dining room was empty and service and food were okay but not worth what they charge. So sad as we’ve been here many times over the years.
The service was poor for the very first time ever! Everyone has bad days. Just letting you all know. We will be back, of course!
The food, wine, and service were fantastic. I had never eaten at a Ruth's and was really surprised at the quality of the cut of meat and how perfectly it was seasoned and cooked.
Additionally, I was there during a work trip and forgot to keep my receipt. A quick call, and I spoke to the manager Sierra who worked with my server and she was able to email a receipt to me. This was AWESOME service and very helpful. Thanks everyone!
The receptionist, frankly, underwhelming, distracted and dismissive. Asked for a table by a window, away from the kitchen in my reservation – led away (four adult kids and myself), to an interior table next to the kitchen, although the restaurant was more than half empty (my bust for not complaining sooner). This said, after a quiet remonstration with our waiter (very professional) we were moved to one of the many available tables by a window, away from the kitchen. While the food and service were good – (thank you David!) – everyone (and everything), at this Ruth Chris seemed tired, worn down. The rooms were very dark, the walls a pale dusk - carpet, imperceptible. Patrons we cordoned off into a small area of the large available dining area; sure, plenty cozy but like some post-apocalyptic dystopian movie scene, huddled together to conserve heat; alas, hope I’m not too unfair.
Something different for Thanksgiving dinner. We decided to go out instead and it was a great experience. The food was great!
