Ruth's Chris Steak House - Troy Ratings and Reviews
Did not have a pleasant experience the other night. The service was horrible. We were hoping for a nice, relaxing dinner but our waitress, Jess, rushed us out the door from the very beginning. It was like she was late for a hot date and we were holding her up. We were in/out of there in 1 hour, which is not normal for a place like Ruth Chris. She also was short and curt in speaking to us. She tried to change my mind from to ordering sea bass to salmon (I dislike salmon and would never order it). She told me it was way better and it's what she prefers. Hello, I'm not her! When I stuck with the sea bass, she gave me a weird look, everyone at the table saw it. The food was just average at best. My $10 salad was overloaded with dressing making it a soggy mess. My Seabass was covered in melted cheese when the menu said nothing about having cheese on it. I didn't complain as I didn't want to have to wait for them to remake my fish when everyone else would have been done by the time I had gotten it back. Everyone else had steak, which was just ok. The sides dishes are not what they use to be. Jess never once asked if any of us wanted more wine/drinks. Once we were done eating, she rushed us the bill. It was the weirdest service ever. We were all very annoyed. I'm not sure what her deal was, but it was obvious she wanted to be elsewhere. With all the great steakhouses in our area, Ruth Chris needs to step up their game. We'll never go back. Such a shame, as it was great back in the day!
I love Ruth's Chris Steak House. The service was great and the food was fantastic. Oddly, there were two guests at different tables wearing basketball jerseys, as well as an 8 year-old birthday party. I don't believe this is the restaurant for those kinds of things. It wasn't bothersome, just surprising. Either way, great restaurant. I would highly recommend.
This is my husband’s favorite restaurant. We have visited this restaurant in multiple states. We went there this time to celebrate his birthday. The time between our salads and entree was unacceptable. The manager came over during her rounds and we did not want to raise a fuss and ruin the celebration, even though the timing put a damper on the mood. I’m not sure what happened, but when we mentioned it to our server, Ulysis, he did not give an explanation or offer an apology. Sadly, we will definitely think twice before going here in the future.
Wow...... what a shocking disappointment!! We have historically celebrated all of our family birthdays and special occasions there. This was our son's 22nd birthday and he came home from DC to be with us and we always go to Ruth's Chris. My husband got an end cut (we think) of Ribeye, both the brussel sprouts and broccoli were tasteless and cold. Boo hoo because we were all so excited and then so sad..... Our waitress was not around most of the time so we summoned a familiar one and she helped us..... yuck!!!
Really enjoyed the personal service from our wait staff Diane. She attentive and worked with her team to let everyone know it was a birthday reservation. The dim lighting was just enough to be quiet and intimate. Was surprise about the number of children that were at the location dining with family (however they were all perfectly behaved). Great cocktails. I did find the appetizers to be average for a high level dining experience. Have been to the restaurant several times and have always enjoyed the experience.
Food was great as usual. French onion and clam chowder soup should be on the menu daily. We actually came to Ruth's Chris just for the Clam Chowder. My friend did not care for this particular soup until i ask them to try yours. It's an all time favorite for them now. So that was the only disappointment. The cocktails were soothing.
The food was good. The waiter was polite. Only thing that I didn’t like was that they single my family out because of our dress code. We were just so happen to be around the restaurant at the time and my fiancé was craving their food. We were dressed up like we were going on a date or anything. We just came from shopping and she singled us out by saying next time you guys come please no workout wear we have a policy and you won’t be seated. I feel like it was unfair because we didn’t know. The times we did come before we dressed up not because of they rules because we were on a date. This time it was just stop by and eat.
Got out salad and bread in a timely manner then the Kitchen lost our ticket for the appetizer . I had to remind the server for it . It eventually came. Took an additional hours free that for our food to come out (my steak was undercooked, I did not send it back I tried cooking it on my hot plate). They brought mashed potatoes (we ordered au gratin) by the time the au gratin came we had already eaten them and didn't take them . Waitress apologized and said desert would be complimentary. (but they did charge us for the mashed potatoes we did not Order?) She said they were low on staff that night so that is why everything was crazy. I would go back the food was good , but it did not go smoothly . We just happened to go on an off night I guess ? The waitress was nice and friendly , she just did not have the proper help she was used too .
OMG I wish I can put my Snapchat photos of what I drank and ate!! White wine fruit sangria. Caesar salad. Lobster tail, shrimp, appetizers. Filet mignon cooked perfectly medium rare and mashed potatoes. Oh and can't forget the chocolate Lava cake for dessert ohh myy!! All absolutely delicious! Can't wait to go back and try other menu items.
The Filet was the best I have ever had. The service was second to none. We were going to a concert that evening. They knew we had time constraints and everyone was very accommodating to make sure we had plenty of time to get to the show. I can't wait to dine here again.
My absolute favorite restaurant. We always have a great experience but this time our waiter, Matthew, made it an exceptional experience. He has the greatest smile and he doesn't just go through the motions. You can tell he enjoys what he does. We will ask to be seated in his section next time.
Amazing experience as usual here. However, I had made a special request through open table by letting them know that it was a one year anniversary for my guest and I and left it open for interpretation by the staff and they went above and beyond to do so! A special desert with the message I requested written on the plate in chocolate, as well a picture taken of us and put in a special frame for us! Servers were incredibly friendly as well!
Service was pretty good until dinner was over. I did ask for lemon for the water, which I never got... We waited 20 minutes after our dinner was finished for a different waitress to bring our dessert out. I preordered mine, my girlfriend wasnt asked what she wanted, but did get what the same as mine. Not a huge issue, but it wasnt what she wanted. Our waitress was mia for sometime. Second complaint was the filet was burned a bit on the outside. We've been here several times, this is our first time with any complaints...
Server was not accommodating when asked for no onions on salad, it arrived with onions. I didn't bother to return it but just not something you'd except at this type of restaurant. I asked for chocolate desert and he brought cheesecake (I mentioned it twice). I told him I asked for chocolate and he seemed like he didn't believe me. Instead of just bringing the correct dessert, he said "no you didn't, really?" The food tasted great and I was surprised when we arrived and found out it was restaurant week so we got a good value. The wine was excellent. Just seemed the server didn't care much because we ordered from the restaurant week menu. I probably won't return based on the service.
