Ruth's Chris Steak House - South Bend

The food was great as usual. The service was not. It was the worst service we have ever had there. The waiter was ok but his helper was not. We had to ask for water several times the entire time we were there. The table was not cleaned between the courses served like always before. We spent $140+ and were disappointed.

It was good. Did not like the table we were placed at. The table was shoved in the corner between two large parties.
Steaks and sides were great but could have gone without hearing AC/DC blasting “Hells Bells” with my wife, my son and his new fiancé.
Great time with my wife for a nice dinner on a date night. The food was excellent except the mashed potatoes that were a little too plain. The Fresh Berries and the Molten Cake were truly excellent, the Ahi-Tuna appetizer was melting in the mouth. My wife’s steak was perfect while my sea bass was almost as good (a little too salty).
Service was perfect. Our server was knowledgeable about wine (she recommended a very nice Chianti!) and all the personel members we interacted with we extremely pleasant, polite and professional.
The ambiance was exactly what my wife and I wanted: quiet so that we could have a good discussion.
It was on the pricy side (~$300 for the two of us) but not totally outrageous either.
Went to Ruth's Chris for New Year's Eve ---lovely meal with great service. We had a nice table. The pace was perfect for us --we love to talk and don't like to be rushed through a meal . Everything was done with great attention to detail. Steak was perfect!
Excellent food and service on New Year’s Eve.
Excellent all around. We have never been disappointed. Love the steaks and creamed spinach.
Great night with friends. Great food and great staff.

Our server was great, and personable. His conversation was really funny. He read our personalities very well but never lingered too long. I forgot his name but he was great.
Christmas Eve dinner
We love going to Ruth's Chris ...we have never been disappointed in their service, food, or ambiance!
It is our favorite go to place for not only special occasions but just a dinner out!
Great service, wonderful food. Our order fell behind a very large party, which cause us to wait longer than normal.
Christmas Eve - elegant seating, delicious food (seafood tower not available - I can see why). Steaks perfect. This was a full house and everything was still amazingly delicious. Courteous staff, attentive. Everything was wonderful!
As always, the quality of service & food delivers on every level. We've never been disappointed and will continue to celebrate our Christmas Eve's here. It's a great calm after the storm of preparation for Christmas Day. The Grand Angels opted for the 11 oz. filet and not one bite remained! The menu says the hash browns are a MUST TRY and they are right!
Delicious food always and wonderful service! Always enjoy dining at Ruth Cris!
Worst dining experience ever. Our waitress forgot about our table, forgot to put in our orders, and then claimed it was because she was “nervous about a proposal” going on at another table. She then (again) disappeared to go take photos of the engaged couple while we sat with no food. Awful and completely unacceptable.
Try the crab stack starter and stuffed chicken breast entree--you won't regret it!
Terrell, server assistant, was phenomenal with his customer service skills and personality. Saber was great as well. The food came hot and well presented.
Great food, service and ambiance.
Sat st the bar. Completely different vibe then the dinning room. I like the fact that it’s “noisy”.
Celebrating our anniversary. Service was great. Food was delicious. Had a Complimentary yummy dessert. Had my first mule that was awesome.
Notified server of a dairy allergy. Was ill for the next 24 hrs after eating at the restaurant in Granger, IN.
We had just finished our Christmas shopping for the day and this was a welcome respite. Everyone in the party enjoyed the entire experience.
Grandson home on leave from the Army
I've eaten at Ruth's Chris many times and although the filet I had was good, it did not meet the expectations to which I am accustomed. Of course, this will not prevent me from coming back.
Best restaurant in South Bend.
Great place to eat! Not a place you'd go every day because of cost but well worth the money!
Consistently good, and a favorite of my elderly parents. Service is attentive and personable. Food reliably good although pricey.
Awesome service & great food on a Thanksgiving Holiday. We had steaks which were great, but the turkey dinner looked amazing as well.
White chocolate bread pudding was to die for. Best thing we had & everything was really good.
When scheduling our reservation at Ruth's Chris I expected everything to be top notch. We certainly weren't disappointed. The service, the food, and the ambience were all that was expected and more. So if you're wanting a special experience for a special occasion Ruth's is over the top. I'd like to mention someone that made the experience wonderful. But it was everyone.
WE WENT FOR THANKSGIVING AND IT WAS A GREAT MEAL. THE STUFFING WAS A LITTLE SPICEY FOR ME,BUT ALL AND ALL IT WAS A GOOD DINNER. THE DESERT WAS WONDERFUL AND THE SURPRISE OF AN APPLE PIE WAS GREAT. THANKS TO OUR WAITRESS FOR BEING SO ATTENTIVE.
WE GO AS OFTEN AS WE CAN AND EVEN VISIT THE ONE IN IRVINE CA ABOUT 4 TIMES A YEAR!
Start with outstanding service, great wine selection, and a broad menu that meets anyone’s expectations. Save this for your most special dinner outings, either personal or business and they will never disappoint. Certainly pricey but the experience is a much higher scale than other establishments.
We try to eat here when in S Bend for a football game. Jim is our favorite waiter. My husband loved his veal steak special & loved the bread. I always get the filet Oscar style. It could be an ounce smaller for me. Great meal!
Business meal with customers in the lounge area; meal was very good as was the service. It got quite loud around 7 pm but it was an enjoyable event.
Very nice just to high priced
Salmon way undercooked otherwise great
My wife and myself were celebrating our 56th wedding anniversary. The staff were all very friendly and hospitable. However, both my wife's fillet and my strip steak were sub-par. There were areas of both steaks that were too tough to be eaten. When paying top price for food, one expects better, more easily consumed product.
I had dinner with my Dad on his 91st Birthday. The meal & service were great & my Dad got a special dessert that he loved!!
Right from the start out experience was great. All of the wait staff were customer centered and effective. Our primary connection to the restaurant was Brittany and she is to flawless service delivered with style and a wonderful sense of humor. Thank you for a great Birthday for my wife.
Food was great. Kale salad is my favorite. Creamed spinach was awesome, and the steak 500 degrees and cook perfect.
