We have been to several Ruth Chris' across the USA and this one was top notch from the service to the food. It was our 40th anniversary and we drove 1 1/2hrs to dine there and it was worth the drive and the outrageous price of gas. From the moment we walked thru the door, the staff was so friendly and welcoming. They even put a sign on our table to wish us a Happy Anniversary. Our server, Jamilynn was superb, she was very attentive and friendly and provided phenomenal customer service. It was hard to resist the warm bread served to start, it was delicious. We enjoyed the crispy wedge salad to start followed by a juicy Porterhouse and a petite filet. Both cuts of meat were excellent. Our favorite side is the scrumptious mashed potatoes which was plenty and then some to share. We finished up with the delectable carrot cake and the chef's special chocolate cake with peanut butter whip cream. We are originally from the Chicago area where fine dining and numerous steak houses exist, yet we will return to South Bend to dine here again. Thanks Jamilynn & all for making our Anniversary a great one!

My husband and I chose this restaurant for a special dinner to celebrate our 49th wedding anniversary. We were greeted nicely and seated quickly (we had reservations). A wrinkled “Happy Anniverary” note was placed on our table, obvious it was used over and over. Our server was very cordial and attentive. We started with the lobster bisque. The broth was tasty, but hard pressed to find any pieces of lobster. For our entrees, we both had filet. Typical upscale steaks, appreciated the hot dinner plates they were served on. Sides were extra charge and nothing special for the price. We shared a piece of cheesecake for dessert. Portion was ample enough for two and very tasty. Husband had a beer and I had one glass of wine. Total bill was $209, not including the tip. As much as we have always loved dining at Ruth’s Chris restaurants all over the country, we will probably go less often due to the higher prices now.

We had a wonderful evening celebrating my parents 57th anniversary & my 50th birthday. Paige our waitress was awesome! Our server was very kind and attentive. However, we did not feel that the food was on par with the price. I would not recommend the Barbeque Shrimp. It arrived at the table and looked like soup. Although large, the shrimp were not cooked thoroughly. Thus, I did not finish it. Overall, I would say that there are other restaurants in town that offer far superior food for a lot less.

My wife picked out the bottle of wine but male waiter then proceeded to have the husband me (man) do the tasting obviously ticking my wife off. 2 of 3 Steaks were not at all close to the ordered doneness. We waited 20 minutes for a server. Host took care of it and sent someone right away but there was still confusion after that as to who had the table which led to our dinner order being taken after appetizers were finished. They did make up for it by comping drinks and appetizers which was great. Only other complaint was the filet I ordered was drowned in butter to the point where it came out to the table with an unmelted pat of butter to the side of the steak. There is always butter on the plates but this was over the top with how much was on there.

We both ordered the eggs Benedict on the Mother's day brunch menu. Both meals came out cold. We sent them back and the dishes were remade. When they served us the new food the eggs were over cooked and the hollandaise started to separate and the steak was still cold inside but the flavor was very good! I suspect that this food comes prepackaged and they warm it up. Cocktails were great and service was wonderful! Ruth's didn't offer to do anything for the inconvenience of the food being undercooked except to remake the meal.
