Ruth's Chris Steak House - Seattle Ratings and Reviews
I"m a regular customer, or more correctly a diner, at the Ruth's in Seattle WA, Austin TX, Fort Worth TX, and Boise ID. Why? Because I think the beef is unrivaled by any other of the other steakhouses. In addition, the ambiance is always just right for a relaxed evening of quiet dining with friends, family, or business associates.
I've been to Ruth Chris in Boston, Scottsdale, Chapel Hill and the bone in Ribeye's have always been excellent. Everyone at our table stated their steaks were overdone, dry, and not the quality that we are used to at Ruth Chris. Hopefully, this is a "one off'.
Best friend recently relocated here and I introduced her to Ruth Chris'. We enjoyed the delicious and excellent prepared dinners so much we dined again 2 days later! Extensive wine list and the delightful wait staff are well informed with pairing the best wine with each meal. The hand crafted cocktails are excellent.
Service level and friendliness changed once the waiter realized that we were not going to order alcoholic drinks or starters. Also, the prices have gone up substantially now that Seattle has passed the $15 minimum wage. They should let customers know that at least part of a normal tip expectation is now included in the price of the meal. A 20% tip on top of a $15 minimum wage is far too much for the quality of service rendered.
- ordered one bowl of soup, but two came in 20 min separately. I told the waiter that this was the second soup, and he said "you can enjoy it anyway" with serious face.
- ordered a bottle of wine and it came after eating all appetizers. The waiter said "I couldn't hear you."
- my mom ordered ribeye, but she was served fillet that my dad ordered.
- food was tasty for sure
The staff made out 15th Wedding Anniversary very special. The table was decorated with rose petals, the table was in a quiet location so we could hear each other, and the servers were kind and funny. We also were given champagne to toast with. Perfect dinner!
I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Ruth's Chris in Seattle. I had previously visited Ruth's chris in Denver and the experience was so great that I was really looking forward to going to a different location. My husband and i both ordered a ribeye steak with anticipation. Both of our pieces were rough and definitely not worth 52$ a piece. The calamari we ordered was also very average. Most Ruth's Chris don't serve the calamari deep fried but here for some reason it was. It was again, poorly cooked. The service was also very average. The server rarely visited our table. All in all, the experience was very disappointing for a 250$ meal. I wish we had gone some where for this date night.
The waiter was awful!! Only asked three of the four of us if we wanted drinks!! How Rude!! Asked us if we wanted more bread and then assumed we did not by not letting us answer! Got our salads all mixed up!! The steaks were good. The $200 worth of Lobster was way undercooked!! Shiney and slimey!! And no flavor at all!! I've never had lobster served in such a way before, it was horrible!!
We were there for. Birthday celebration, and once again the waiter asked if we wanted desert and then did not let us answer. Assumed we didn't even want the complimentary BD desert!! Never going back!! I don't mind paying big bucks if you get top notch service and food!! Not here!!
First time at Ruth's Chris, and aside from exemplary service, it was disappointing. It took a very long time for our entrees to arrive, and when they did get there, the steaks were overcooked. We were too hungry by then to send them back to the kitchen, but for the price we paid, we should have had perfectly cooked meat.
We wanted to have a really good steak and didn't know where to get one in Seattle that wasn't a chain. We've been to Ruth's Chris around the country many times and have enjoyed it, but wanted some local atmosphere. Because we didn't want to chance a bad meal at a local place, we opted for what we knew at Ruth's Chris. We were not disappointed. The wonderful evening started with the hostess, who was very personable. Then our waiter, Antony, was such a nice waiter and a delight to chat with. The filets we had were cooked as we ordered, to perfection. Water glasses were never left empty. Any dietary restrictions were remembered and was applied to all the courses. Antony made the dinner such a wonderful experience and the evening a joy. I can't rave about the dinner at Ruth's Chris enough.
Started by taking 12 minutes to finally get a cocktail in our hands but they tasted very good.
We ordered a wedge salad to split with the dressing on the side. Salad came and the waiter cut it two at the table and there was dressing all over the salad. (Not on the side) Response from the waiter was "I knew I forgot something". He did offer to make us a new one but we dealt with it. There was also a lot of what looked like spring mix in this salad instead of just iceberg lettuce. We had a few bites and then just left it. The waiter came back took the salads away with no response. We then ordered an 11 ounce filet, split in two, cooked medium rare to medium with a side of asparagus and shrimp. Pretty straight forward order.
The steak and the asparagus came and the person who brought it, cut it in two at the table, one piece was about 75% of the steak and the other piece was 25%. (One huge piece one small piece) I also had ordered a glass a wine that the waiter finally brought after the steak was cut. The fellow who cut the steak asked if everything was ok? I said where is the shrimp? Obviously he had no idea what I was talking about so the waiter must have "forgot" that too. He had a stunned look on his face and said he would check. The steak was basically raw, way under cooked and the shrimp were nowhere to be seen. We had enough, I asked to speak to the manager and told her the situation. She totally understood and apologized but it was too late. We got up and left and will never be back to that particular Ruth Chris.
Got stuck in a corner with a busted tore up seat that you sit lower then person across from you. Had a wobbly table so one of the waiters took 4 mins on his knee pitting a towel while spilling drinks on the table. It felt like I was on an episode of punked. Waiter never came back after he served us because of a huge table he had in his area. Somone else gave us the check. No dessert no coffee just a bill.
The steak was undercooked at first.
Overall the food was delicious. Extremely pricey.
When they brought the steak back it was clear that they just nuked it.
If I'm paying $50 for a steak and you don't cook it right, I expect you to do better than microwave the steak.
