Ruth's Chris Steak House - Scottsdale Ratings and Reviews
My steak was a disappointment, it had been cut in 2 places, I’m assuming to see if it was medium or not, it wasn’t it was well done. They comped my steak but my husbands steak was mediocre, also our friends steak had been cut in 2 places, not something I would have expected from this caliber of restaurant.
We were entertaining business couples for dinner and were offered a private room at no charge. It was very gracious and a great service. Your company called me and offered this. Our dinner was exceptional as usual and service terrific. We had two people with food allergies and our waiter was more than assuring and accommodating.
It was a perfect night .
My family has exclusively been reserving Ruth Chris for special occasions for decades. We have unfortunately been disappointed last 2 times and will be reserving another steak house in future (end of Jan next special birthday event) due to less than optimal dining experience at Ruth Chris. Ordered Celebration Surf & Turf...my steak was served with 3-4 X the normal amount of salt and steak seemed a little off in odor...perhaps not fresh? They promptly remade another steak (ribeye) and it did have much less salt but still seemed less than fresh and both were overly fatty. We always order Potatoes Au Gratin...these were not good like they usually are...thick cut potatoes, extra flour-ey sauce. We always order Crème Brulee - this time the carmelization was barely there...this was a special family Christmas dinner combo brother birthday and we left quite unsatisfied. Such a shame that a long time tradition has been ruined for our family. Think we will try Maestros, Steak 44 or another steak house in hopes of beginning new celebration tradition; spending almost $300 for 3 people should warrant high quality, superbly prepared meal.
A Christmas eve party of 8. Those who had steaks raved, justifiably. The two who ordered chicken (sent it back) or crab cakes (fishy, definitely not fresh) did not. Two waiters were assigned to handle the larger group, but after delivering the food they did not check back within a reasonable time to see if we had issues. We were eventually able to flag one of them down to handle the chicken return. I own restaurants and know things sometimes go awry. This is not a pall on this restaurant chain's otherwise deserved sterling reputation. But I was disappointed at what was delivered for almost $800.
We went on Christmas Eve with our granddaughter and to celebrate my wife's birthday. In the past, Ruths' Chris has given a complimentary dessert for a birthday, but on this day, they just put a candle in a dessert that came with the Ruths' Classic meal and never offered a regular dessert. Very disappointing. Service was also very slow. Our drinks were empty for long periods.
Server was excellent, he was attentive and friendly. The food was very good. The only negative would be the gal the greeted us. She wasn't very friendly, it was like we were just a bother to her. Not very welcoming, especially considering she gives the first impression of the restaurant. The rest of the evening was great.
Problem is place is hard to find and once you get there, you wonder if your walking into a dive — elevator not friendly. Pleasant surprise awaits once you walk into restuarant. Well appointed. Great views over pond and area. Very comfortable and quality seating.
Service outstanding but there weren’t many people in restaurant. Food was excellent. I had butternut ravioli stuffed with oso bucco (fresh pasta, flavorful and light) WONDERFUL. Came with sautéed spinach which was excellent, not garlic or oily. Great job of cooking. Rest of party felt same way about their food.
Wine list was excellent but the find was a 2009 Provenance Merlot for a very low price 😊. It was brought out with a decanter and airator. Really knew how to handle the wine which was outstanding — yes there are excellent Merlots.
We were there for my nephew’s graduation from ASU. Ruth Chris made it a truly special evening.
