Ruth's Chris Steak House - Sarasota Ratings and Reviews
Dinner was ok. Steak rare when I ordered it Medium
Adding on 2.00 charged seems so tacky to me. How can one potato dish cost 5:00 more???
Charge more and let people just order what they want
Lovely Resturant but Flemings still has that old fashion
Customer Service even though they too are a chain
Also. I think Ruth CHRIS should have a club
Every resturant here offers something fir coming
Great Resturant for a special occasion
The experience started with our waitress giving us a great overview of Ruth’s Chris. It was interesting and informative. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. Never had to ask for anything as the staff anticipated our every need. Highly recommend to anyone.
We've been to several Ruths Chris Steak Houses throughout the U.S. and they never fail to impress. This one was equally delightful. From the hand crafted drink menu through the dessert, everything was delicious. Our server was very attentive, but not overly so. It was my husbands birthday so the table was decorated with shiny confetti and a birthday card signed by the entire staff. Just a really fun evening, and I even got to bring a little rib eye home to savor the next day.
We went on thanksgiving at 8pm. My first thought as we waited in the foyer for our table was that the wiring must be bad as the large pendant light hanging there dimmed and brightened repeatedly. As we made our way to the table I took note it was dirty. There was food crumbs and pieces all over the floor. Now I realize it was thanksgiving and we were one of the last reservations. But is this how you present such an expensive restaurant? Too busy to Betty broom?!
Our booth was beside one of the black art deco vases with a bushy artificial plant in it. And this thing was so dusty! I used to be a waitress at ruby Tuesday and the lamps ere dusted at the end of each shift and the managers made us Clean every part of the booths. Not just the table. I began to look around and saw thick dust all around the black molding on the back of the booths. The carpet looked sticky. It just wasn't CLEAN! This quite surprised me. This wasn't just a oh it's busy not clean. This was a hadn't been cleaned in months likely years not clean. We got the thanksgiving menu. It was delicious spare the potatoes. My mashed potatoes are better. These were kinda lack luster. We got vcoffe with our dessert which was very good as well. Just the right amount. As we were getting ourselves together I overheard our waiters teammate telling the booth next to us that they were giving them some free take-home Thanksgiving stuffing and gravy and potatoes and turkey because They have lots of leftover stuff and they were sending everybody home with the care package, well we didn’t get a care package and that really made me mad. Overall it wasn’t a “I’m gonna have to go back to Ruth’s Chris” kind of experience that I was expecting.
Our Thanksgiving lunch was beyond stellar! Our waiter, Tobias, is so knowledgeable about the cuisine that having him serve us is like coming home! Everyone there is amazing- the food is incomparable. Fresh, hot, delicious! We have been here for everyday dining and this was our first holiday experience— but guaranteed it will not be our last! Their gumbo is delicious, their Caesar salad- simply the best! Portions are generous but not overly so— at Ruth’s the emphasis remains in quality ingredients and exceptional service, and they never disappoint!
We frequent Sarasota Ruth’s several times a year. Some for special occasions, guests, company business or just the 2 of us. On 11/7, the restaurant wasn’t busy. In short, one strip steak had to be sent back, ordered med rare and it was raw. The creamed spinach was served luke warm and, my baked potato was sent back twice as it was served cool twice until it came back hot the 3rd time. In all the years, this is the only time that very usual items were overlooked a number of times. Server & service excellent. Reservation was honored All personnel were pleasant & efficient.
My wife and I decided to dine at Ruth's Chris due to the fact it had been years since we last dined there. We both decided to order the Petite Filet medium rare. When the server brought our meals my meal was done perfectly but my wife's was basically raw on the inside. Once we pointed that out to our server he apologized and promptly took it back to have the chef address the issue. When he returned with the filet it was prepared to her liking. The sides we ordered to go along with the meal were very good . The service we received throughout the night was very good and the wait staff was very attentive. We also discovered the restaurant has a great wine list and we chose a nice bottle of Pinot Noir to complement our meal which we enjoyed very much. We had a very nice evening and will plan to return.
The crab-mango-avocado tian appetizer was fabulous! The steaks are about the best of any premium steakhouse. If there's one place for improvement, it's with the bread served at the beginning of the meal. It's simply a loaf of plain white bread..nothing notable about it, including taste. I think this is the only area where a singular food offering doesn't meet the quality or creativeness of the rest of the menu.
Have been here numerous times order an expensive bottle of wine that I had to pour for myself after the first pouring that my waitress did. The Manager even walked around and asked how my dinner was had seen that the wine glasses were empty and never even offered to pour additional wine. Besides the restaurant was not busy by no means a lot of empty tables. She was not interested other than asking us our dinner was and that’s it
Each time I go the food is less and less and the prices are more and more and I’m not a cheap person.
Many nicer restaurants with better service then here.
The service at Ruth's Chris was impeccable. The food was good, but not great. I have to admit, however, that we didn't have steaks. I had the Halibut, that was excellent. My wife had the crab cakes. They were just OK. Being from Maryland, the home of crab cakes, she was a bit disappointed. She had the Key Lime pie and I had the Chocolate Duo. Hers was a large (about 6" round) key lime pie. Mine was about 3" round. Both were excellent, however, I was left wanting for more while she took over half of hers home for another day. Overall, I would recommend Ruth's Chris Steak House if you're looking for a really nice place for a date or a quiet dinner. Just be prepared to pay premium prices for your meal.
I frequently go to fine dining establishments. This Ruth’s Chris was subpar. We were seated 20 minutes past our reservation time. We were seated in the far, back corner of the restaurant. My petit filet arrived less than rare, when I requested medium rare. Finally, although our server and assistant were great, they had limited knowledge of wines and neither the manager or sommelier came by to check on us.
We brought our friends here for their first visit and they we're blown away by everything from the ambience to the best steak dinner they've ever had! Of course, we agree too that it's the best steak in town! Oooh, and those Cremini mushrooms, and the Creme Brulee! It's our favorite special place!!
Our group of six had an amazing dinner and once again, Ruth's Chris provided top notch, attentive service. The food was prepared to perfection and the special touches that were added to the table for our birthday girl were a welcome surprise. Our server Reilly added to the experience with a fun and witty personality. Thank you again and we look forward to celebrating at your restaurant in the future!
We love coming here— Tobias is amazing and always makes our dining experience special. He has a great ability to pair wine selections with our meal choice — food is absolutely wonderful and wonderfully consistent! Ruth’s in Sarasota is one of our all-time favorite places to dine because the elements simply come together so well. From appetizer to coffee and /or dessert— this restaurant has never disappointed!
The menu includes delicious selections for every palate. The fact that it arrives at your table perfectly cooked and sizzling hot on your plate..that makes it perfect. The service was outstanding, the waiters absolutely know their table and seem to actually want to know the guests. We loved the dinner - and oh, the dessert!
Sadly I wasn't happy with our dinner as a special occasion for my son's 21st birthday. Although service was wonderful and and ambience was fine the steaks which they're known for came out close to raw when ordered medium rare. When I brought it to there attention their solution was to bring out a plate that was hot and have us cut it up ourselves and cook it ourselves. This is not my idea of fine dining. Being famous for their steaks you would think they would have the cooking of them pretty much down . On top of that my shrimp were like rubber. Brought me new shrimp , same problem. My steak was over salted and seasoned as well. My son pretended tp enjoy it for my sake but I was terribly disappointed because it was an experience that was to be remembered for a long time because we've never been before as I live on disability income from cancer and had to save for quite some time to be able to take him. At 164.00 dollars for two meals you expect a near flawless meal at best. My friends steak was raw too. I believe they comped her meal. We won't be going back. I'm deeply saddened because you can't redo your 21st birthday.
