Ruth's Chris Steak House - Sacramento Ratings and Reviews
My little family had a great experience. My husband and I brought our 7 month old baby and they were very accommodating with her stroller. The restaurant already had the high chair at the table for our baby and some confetti for my birthday. Food tasted better than Morton’s (in terms of ribeye). My only reason for not giving a full five stars is that the restaurant ran out of fire-roasted corn and it was only about 7:00 pm. This was after finding out that corn with edamame was seasonal and was no longer available. We already ordered the au gratin as one of our sides. No other side seemed appealing, so I felt like I had to settle for something I don’t really care for. On a good note, food came out shortly after we ordered. Our service, by Tonielle (*spelling?), was phenomenal!
RC is always good but the noise level makes conversation sometimes problematic. We had a round table for five and I couldn't hear the two people opposite and had to ask the people to either side to repeat several times. The food is excellent but this expensive. We had three bottles of decent wine, two appetizers for the table, five veg or other dishes to share, each person chose their steak, and three desserts to share. With a reasonable tip the tab was over $850. Not on an expense account so you have to decide what's worth it to you.
Being a regular of Ruth's Chris in Orange County (Irvine--our local favorite) as well as others such as LA, San Diego Harrah's Las Vegas and others I was extremely disappointed in the food and service. I made the reservation same day on 'Open Table' for 7:30 PM and when I arrived the restaurant was about 1/3rd full and waited almost 20 plus minutes to be seated. I had to remind the hostess when another person came in with no reservation that was about to be seated that we had a 7:30 PM reservation of which she then said oh--okay--mind you I had checked in with the hostess when we arrived. Once seated, it took quite a while--about 15-plus minutes to be greeted by our waiter. And when he did come over to acknowledge us we knew what we wanted to order and asked for it to be taken so that there was no additional wait on service. Once our order was taken it took about another 10 minutes to get our beverages. Once the order arrived the filet was not how I ordered it (well done) and had to be returned as it was medium. The baked potato ordered was also cold and had to go back as the plate it was served on was an ice cold plate and the potato was not even warm. When the filet finally made its way back to our table it was charred beyond belief of which I was already fed up and said just forget it. As you can see, I go at least twice a month to Ruth's Chris as this is one of my wife and sons favorite in Irvine. Its unfortunate that all Ruth's Chris doesn't have the same standard but rest-assured I wont be back to the Sacramento location.
I hadn't been to a Ruth's Chris Steak House in a long time. It was every bit as wonderful as ever!
The food is incredible. Our waiter should teach Waiter's School.... he was so nice, polite....everything a great waiter should be.
It's literally my favorite place !
My birthday was celebrated at Ruth’s Chris and it was wonderful. The service was friendly, efficient and well informed about the menu. The ambience was lovely, the food was perfectly prepared and it proved to be a lovely evening. The menu is pricey but worth every penny of what you spend. We will definitely dine there again.
The service was awesome. The specialty drinks were great. The food was good. For the cost of the meal to have an annoying crying baby made it not worth it at all. I have 3 kids and the last thing I want when I drop over $300 For 2 of us is at least a peaceful meal without the annoyance of a crying baby. Really put a big damper on the evening. If it was not for this we would probably go back.
Andre and his assistant Sylvia were excellent, making our Christmas dinner wonderful. My rib steak was cooked as I requested and very flavorful and tender. My husbands said his fillet was excellent. The potatoes au gratin was creamy with a nice top layer of cheese but the surprise delight were the brussel sprouts cooked with bacon and honey butter. I went for the prime steak but ate more of the side dishes. Silver Oak Cabernet was a perfect accompaniment and yes, we couldn’t leave without having the bread pudding. We did wish they still had their bread pudding with Jack Daniel sauce, an old favorite. Andre said we could make a request for it in advance, which we plan to do next time
I took my sons out for Christmas dinner here. I've never been there before. I knew it was probably toward the high end so I expected to pay more than I'm use to. The waiter was amazing. We loved hearing the history of the steakhouse and small talk we had with him. It was a very busy afternoon but he was very attentive and the food was delicious. We were there a couple hours. You can order separate items or choose from a few select meals that include a salad , side, and desert. If you get separate entree's and sides there's enough actually to share the sides between 2-4 people. So that was a neat option. For 4 of us the bill was around $260. Which included 6 drinks.
Part of our order was forgotten and several times it was blamed on the chef. We didn’t order from the chef but the waitress. We were never checked on our water glasses were empty and we had to ask for butter for the bread.
The waiter in the bar was terrific.
We have never left any restaurant as disappointed as we were Xmas Eve. While the quality of the food was passable, the 2 three pound lobsters were incomplete. At least half of the meat, including the tails were absent. We mentioned this to the server but he had no comment . We left a decent tip as it was Xmas Eve, but it wasn’t deserved as he forgot a couple requests and was in a hurry to clear things we were still eating. In closing, we hope whoever received the rest of our lobster enjoyed it.
I've been to Ruth's Chris many times and decided to reserve a table for a Saturday evening.
My OpenTable reservation requested a booth and any of three servers including Toniell.
The hostess Haley said we'd have to wait 15-20 minutes for a booth or be seated immediately at a table. We chose the table. As we were being seated I saw Toniell and another requested server and assumed one or the other would take our order. Instead a man named Andre (or Albert) appeared. I like their Salmon with certain changes and had to show Andre an old cell phone photo before he understood what I was asking for. (Toniell has taken my order many times and knows what I want.) Lesson learned is be sure to ask for your favorite server on arriving even if your OpenTable reservation mentions their name. My companion loved the T-Bone. I can also recommend the Sweet Potato Casserole.
The lady at the reception was quite rude. She did not want to seat us at a booth, so instead, after waiting 20 minutes, she walked over to us and told us that there was a “dress code”. My sister and I had just flown into Sacramento and had not eaten all day. My sister had on a very fashionable, yet comfy pair of jogger pants with a matching cable knit sweater — very cute!! Hungry and tired, with no where else to go, we were almost to the point of tears. We asked for the manager and he came over to us immediately. He sat down right next to us and asked about the problem. I explained that the hostess had denied seating to us because of our attire. He took one quick look at our outfits, and instantly got us a very nice seat in the main dining room!! We were so grateful!!
