Overall the experience was a good one only shortcomings was we were not informed of out of stock items on the menu prior to ordering and I at was sat next to falling and torn curtains. Expected a little more from the name Ruth Chris is all. But the food was amazing and I hope that the ambiance is updated in the near future.
Very good service from Monica and very good food. Enjoyable evening with friends.
It was very relaxing and calming
Birthday celebration- they placed bday confetti on table which made it special - complimentary dessert ( bread pudding about the size of a half dollar , rock hard - which was not great ) but regardless we had a nice dinner and a great time.
Great service. Tasty cocktails (old fashion). Steaks were tender, juicy, and seasoned perfectly. It was my first time at Ruth Chris but won't be my last
I honestly think this place is so overrated! Not a fan. Service is great though.
My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary. We have eaten dinner at multiple Ruth’s Chris at least 50 times, probably more, and have been to this Pavilions Sacramento location the most. Both of us agreed our steaks were as good as we have ever had at RC. The server was very good. Unfortunately the remainder of the experience left a lot to be desired. The restaurant itself is very “tired” and is in need of remodeling. Curtains needed rehanging. The layout/decor has not been updated since it opened over 25 years ago. The published dress code was not followed. My cocktail was wrong and had to be sent back. The normal excellent bartender was on the floor training a new server. My cocktail came back and was still wrong but I chose not to send it back. Barware and cocktail garnish have changed, and not for the better. The menu changed in physical appearance and was not easy to understand. Prices have increased tremendously. When we ordered dessert, we also ordered coffee but were told their coffee maker was out of service and corporate hadn’t sent them a new one. Really? Management should have gone to a local store and purchased a few coffee makers so guests could have coffee. All in all, the food and service were up to RC’s standards but everything else’s shortfalls resulted in this poor rating.
We are very sorry to hear that your experience was less than satisfactory. Our team will look into this.
This was one of the best steak houses I've been too the meal was great and the service was wonderful
2 year Anniversary
My favorite place to dine however management does not enforce the mask mandate with its employees. Some of the servers, two who waited tables near us, did not have their noses covered. It’s very upsetting to know they are in and out of the kitchen and near food being served to me that they could be spreading and airborne illness.
OpenTable Diner, what you described concerns us and we would like to speak with you directly. Please reply directly your contact information, including a phone number so that we can reach out and learn more. Thank you.
We had date night with our Besties and ENJOYED our dining experience! Alex has been a great addition to the staff. It was nice to see so many people having fun! We look forward to our next visit!
This was my first time at Ruth’s Chris. We were seated right when we got there. That was nice. We both ordered the NYE special. The steak and lobster was good, but not amazing. The garlic mashed potatoes tasted bland. I didn’t really care for the lobster bisque. The cream brûlée didn’t come out warm. The service was good and the food was just okay to me.
We had a great dinner here. We were seated immediately since we arrived right on time for our reservation. The waiter attended us and brought our food out at perfect times. The food was delicious. Overall a perfect dinner. Very satisfied and would highly recommend going here as opposed to Morton’s. I had a previous bad experience at Morton’s where they lost our reservation since we made it on the phone instead of their website and service was super slow.
Ruth's Chris Sacramento is our area 'steak' fine dining favorite. New Years eve was a success with an early reservation and the help of Jordan our server and his associates. The pace of dinner was even and not rushed nor delayed. The food is consistent, warm bread, a shared lettuce wedge, medium rare filets, steamed broccoli, and au gratin potatoes well browned as requested. The good news is that with portion control there were leftovers leaving room for a shared desert, cheese cake and a bit of coffee. I highly recommend Ruth's Chris in Sacramento.
Everything was wonderful
Christmas Day dinner… meal was very slow to get and expensive. Our waiter was good but you could tell very tired.
As always the ribeye comes out piping hot & flavorful which is fab, but this time it wasn't as charred as we like and one of our steaks was a bit too fatty. The shrimp appetizer, lobster bisque, bread & butter, and lobster mac n cheese were great. I'd order it all again. However, the cesar salad was disappointing...dressing barely detectable, too few croutons, and the parmesean wasn't very tasty. It's one of the best steaks in Sac, so we'd come again.
Diana is the best server in town. She always makes you feel special.
The steaks are good as you would expect, but there is no creativity in the menu, in terms of side dishes or alternatives to steak. This was my first time at Ruth Chris's and there was nothing in the experience that would draw me back again. Brandon was our server and was the bright spot in the evening. There was nothing really negative about the experience, just nothing positive enough to justify the cost.
The food was delicious, the service was excellent and the ambiance was very nice.
Great service! We could actually talk in normal voice. The meat ok but tasted overly tenderized. If you like old fashioned ambiance, I would recommend.
This was my first time at a Ruth's Chris. Our server and his assistant were spot on - Excellent recommendations and descriptions of what to expect; perfect timing of all courses; very pleasant and yet efficient in the dialogue. The steak, sides, and desert were excellent. The server for the table next to us had a voice volume that seemed too loud for the restaurant. Physically, the restaurant seems to have old and tired decor. Wall paper bubling up on walls. Men's room had overflowing waste can and the counter was not well maintained.
Excellence personified. Our server, Brandon, made the experience memorable with his outgoing personality and sterling service.
Excellent food and service. They were very accommodating as two people in my party inadvertently drove to Ruth's Chris in Roseville, and I had to wait for them to drive to location in Sacramento. No surprise that the ribeye and filet mignon orders were outstanding. Pleasant surprise that their sea bass was also outstanding, rivaling anything we have eaten at sea food restaurants anywhere.
Despite a reservation several days in advance, we were seated on a cold (like Literally no heat) indoor patio room (plenty of other similar sized tables in the warm part), waited maybe 20 minutes to order, 15 minutes between courses. Kind of like they forgot we were there.
I did enjoy crab cakes and Caesar salad very much. My family loved their steaks.
It was Christmas In a labor shortage and the waitress was working hard so we don’t fault her. I think if we had been warm it probably would have been fine.
My daughter however the food was lackluster at best. The lobster bisque had little flavor & contained a very small amount of over cooked lobster. The filet & lobster we ordered consisted of more overcooked lobster & a steak not memorable in the least...far from the Ruth Chris steaks we've enjoyed for special occasions such as this. The bread pudding included in our prix fixe meal was small & dry. It being Christmas & knowing the employees weren't with their families on Christmas Day, I could not bring myself to complain. After spending nearly $300, we left feeling meh =[
My husband and I had never been there my 30-year-old son ordered for us and it was absolutely delicious I have never had something so good the only thing is that we were sitting right by the fireplace and we asked the waiter about turning it on and he says they don’t turn it on we were disappointed
Best meal I’ve had in a year! And service was perfect too!
Hard to keep this review short! Something has changed at this location. This was for a Birthday celebration. I ordered a martini up, received the drink on the rocks in a "rocks" glass, not a stem. Asked again to have the drink served "up" the drink came back in the same glass, ice had been "strained" and it was not cold. Hoping the third time to get the stem glass with the drink chilled only to be told they only had a total of seven stem martini glasses in the entire restaurant. We were told they had a supply line issue.....I asked if I could possibly get one of the seven glasses and finally did receive the cold drink in the proper glassware. I think there is a bar and restaurant supply on North 12th Street in Sacramento, about 15 minutes away! My entree was to be served "oscar" style. They used to serve crab meat, now it is a crab cake. Meal is served on 500 degree plates, good thing because the crab cake was ice cold. I slid it onto the very hot plate. The petite filet also was not up to the entree served in the past. We asked for decaf coffee to be served with dessert, we were told they had no coffee and the machine was broken...hey, go to Starbucks for a couple of there big party containers. For two people the tab before the tip was $266. About $60 was for drinks. The wait staff was more than attentive and kept apologizing for the lack of glassware and coffee. We still tipped in excess of 20% as all of this is no fault of the wait staff. BTW, they appeared to be fully staffed. We asked for the cheesecake dessert to be packaged to go. headed home, made coffee and the disappointment continued. It appeared the cheesecake was not completely baked, crumbling crust and soft filling. We tossed it! It appears they have a chain restaurant lack of corporate support problem. We will not go back......too bad, as this was a very special "steak house" kind of place.
The food/service was great, but the clientele was quite different. There were tables with everyone wearing hoodies, smelled cannabis. Bring back dress code 🎄🎄
Consistency is the reason you go to Ruth's. Steaks perfect and nice dinner meeting on a Monday night.
Good food, amazing service. I’ll be back.
The food was excellent. Our waitress Danielle was superb. She was very accommodating and a breeze to talk to. She had great suggestions and was very knowledgeable of the menu. The front of the house had much to be desired and almost spoiled the rest of the night. The two that were at the front were not helpful and merely complained that there were not enough staff members when we asked why we had to wait 30 minutes for a reservation we made over a week ago. If you could put the same level of professionalism at the front that you do on the wait staff and the cooks, the experience would have been much better. With the level of competition out there, I am not sure if we will be back.
Wasn’t very impressed with this experience at Ruth Chris… The quality of the meat did not match their reputation… They should find a better supplier for their steaks
Food, service and ambiance perfect!!! When you ask for steak to be cooked a certain way, you can be sure they will get it right! Staff wasvso attentive and it was a great dining experience! Highly recommend!!
Restaurant was very cold. Server forgot to place our appetizer order in the system. Ordered a medium well steak, however I received a rare steak.
Service was excellent. Food was good, especially the steak. Sides were of average quality. The window curtains should be closed, headlights from the parking lot were unpleasant.
Brandon was a wonderful server and all of the staff were very kind and friendly. Will be back again!
