As usual, Ruth's Chris was on point. Excellent service, food and overall atmosphere.
Average at best! I think I will take this place of my list now. Too many better options in SA now.
We came for lunch and attend many different high end steak houses in the San Antonio area. Service was fine, but there were lots of servers just hanging out since they just opened; service could have been better. Our steaks were over-cooked and crunchy rather than what it should’ve been for a $31 lunch. Mashed potatoes weren’t hot and the drinks were way overpriced for the experience. Definitely will not be back to this location. Expected better from a high end steak house on the riverwalk.
Good time thanks.
Great service and took great attention to my reservation notes about our Anniversary and where we would like to sit (on the patio with view of river walk). They had decorated the table with rose petals and we got free dessert. The manager also came by and thanked us. We will definitely be going back. Amazing food and top notch customer service
I could have bought and cooked a better steak myself. The Augustine potatoes were cold and were very lame and the Brussels sprouts were not thoughly cooked. Was very disappointed and will never be back. Definetly had buyers remorse for the amount of money we spent.
Poor service, They were not even busy. Waited 20 minutes for a cocktail. Then the same for a dessert. My bill was over 200.00 . Not complaining on the price because it is a nice place but the waiting I wasn't happy about.
It was our first time at a Ruth’s Chris, and Ive gotta say it was amazing! Our server, Dominique, was spot and my filet was probably the best Ive ever had.
$3400 dinner and it just was terrible. Corporate probably needs to take this one over as well.
The atmosphere was like dining in a typical hotel restaurant. Nothing like what I’ve seen at other Ruth Chris restaurants.
The waiters we had was awesome. She was always checking on us to make sure everything was ok or if we needed anything.
We went there Saturday 3/2/2019 for dinner and both ordered the filet and shrimp classics meals, with iced tea for me and water for my wife. We don't drink alcohol. The tea and water arrived after we had finished our starters and been served our entrees, although we noticed that a table near us was served their drink orders almost immediately, and received almost constant attention from our waiter throughout their meal. We never saw our waiter again (a runner brought our meal out), but the Manager did stop on his rounds and we mentioned the lack of attention from our waiter. I told him that we were used to being ignored because we didn't drink and waiters will take care of drinkers because of the bigger check and bigger tips. He acknowledged that that happened but did not want it to happen in his restaurant, and said he would go back and talk to our waiter. He noticed that our tea and water had not been refilled and said he would take care of that also. Eventually a different waiter did the refills, after we had finished our desserts. Our waiter did eventually did show up with the check and a perfunctory "Have a nice day" as he dropped the check on the table, which was the only indication we had that the Manager had talked to him. We regularly visit Ruth's Chris in Houston and have come to expect better service, so we know when we don't get it. Maybe this location is too used to serving tourists along the River Walk that they feel that they don't have to do a good job, but poor service still reflects on the whole Ruth's Chris organization, and there is too much competition among high-end steak houses (particularly in Houston) to have to accept poor service like this. I certainly know we won't soon forget it. Particularly the ineffectiveness of the Manager in dealing with the problem. Other than that, the food was as expected, although the portions (especially the side dishes) were smaller than we remember - hardly "family-sized".
Enjoyed service and meal.
Waited 45 min for our food then steak came out raw. We walked out
Great food but definitely pricey but othe money if you’re wanting a nice dinner.
Our first time at this location and it was the same outstanding experience. We were promptly sat and everything from the service to the food was exemplary. There's no going wrong with the choice of Ruth's Chris.
Party of 9, took an hour to get the food, and it was not as hot as used to be. I think they forget the order unattended in the kitchen...
I wanted it to be 5 stars but it fell way short. The service was good and the stuffed mushroom appetizers were very tasty. After that, not much. The steaks were prepared perfectly but tasted, so-so, more like a rump roast, no steak flavor. Couple that with the very high price, it was very disappointing. Add to to it that sides are extra, well it was a lot of $$ for not much flavor.
Awesome experience! They set up our table for our 2 year anniversary and even surprised us with cheesecake and ice cream on the house!
From the minute we have our keys to the valet to the minute we got our keys back, the service was amazing. We went for my husband’s birthday and the hostess sprinkled birthday sequins along the table, the servers were prompt, the wine selection was fabulous, and the food was mouth-watering! They also have a great happy hour!
My husband and I along with our neighbors decided to do dinner at Ruth Chris before a concert we were attending downtown. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food except my husband, he had to send his steak back. He wasn't given a hard time and his new steak came out fast and he stated that it was delicious. Problems some times occur when you're dining out from time to time but it's how the wait staff and managers correct the problem that turns your experience from good to bad. Well for us they handled the situation very well and gave top notch service, our server went above and beyond. We'll be returning again soon.
The food was very good and that staff was outstanding and very professional. I will be back soon.
The service was Outstanding. Never an empty glass, and always attentive!
We made reservations a month in advance to celebrate Valentines Day. The food took over an hour and a half to arrive to our table. I could almost excuse this because it was A special day, but the restaurant was half empty. They we not busy at all. When we finally got our food, it was rushed out, the plate burned our hands and it wasn’t cooked properly. They made not apologizes or compensations. I’ve been to the Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Fort Worth and the experience was great. This location is an embarrassment. They ruined the special day for my wife and myself!
Poor experience not worth the price.
It was not what I would expect.
The service was off and slow. At the beginning it was on point but once a couple of tables were added it was like we were forgotten. My friend waited 15 minutes for a dessert menu. She ended up getting her dessert to go. The mashed potatoes were so hot you could not eat them and watery. The burger and zucchini fries were amazing. The chopped salad was presented in a cool way, but not what I expected for a chopped salad. My friend had the crab cakes and she loved them. Will try again, but tonight was not an overall hit.
Ordered the 40 oz. Steak for 2 and it was cooked perfectly! And would love to go back!
Food was excellent. Service was excellent. Brock, our waiter went above and beyond. A great experience!
Food was expensive but excellent. Service was Slow but the problem was in the kitchen not due to inattentive servers.
Wonderful service!! Bartender was very attentive and gave great recommendations !
Food and service was excellent, steak at the perfect temp!
Was not worth the money we spent...... went to a much nicer restaurant the night before, for less money and much better food. However if you must go, try the 50 acre wine.
Good came out at different times. Some items were cold and steak wasn’t cooked right. When we sent it back it came out burnt.
They did not have our table ready, asked a to wait a few min which turned out to be 45 so at 9pm we left. They didn't tell Open Table that we were ever there so they sent me a note asking why we weren't etc. Too busy, no one cared. So much for chain steak houses! We walked accross the street to the Brazilian Steak house, they seated us instantly and we were eating within 5 min. Glad we left!!
The steak was excellent as always, as was the rest of the meal. Our server was very pleasant but the restaurant was full and the wait staff was very busy. However, there was an additional floating waiter who was very attentive to our whole area. The location on the Riverwalk is great for visitors and the restaurant was full to the brim with dance contestants and their families which made for a rather loud environment. We enjoyed our evening and the meal very much and any time we can visit a Ruth Chris we know we are going to have a great meal.
We had a business meeting after a conference. The food and service were great. All as expected. Everyone was pleased with the meal. It was Restaurant Week in San Antonio. We each had a 3 course meal for $45 which left room for better wine and more appetizers. I will certainly use this venue in the future for group dinners and even as a nice dinner on a date night.
First meal: Took dinner at the bar. The barkeep was friendly and attentive. Ordered a Cesar salad with a 4oz salmon fillet. The greens were great, but the salmon was tough, chewy and flavorless. It was Atlantic (farm raised) versus Alaska (wild), so that accounts for the lack of flavor, but I'm not sure how the grim texture was achieved. It didn't seem overcooked.
Second meal, a business lunch for six. The dining room was very busy, the wait staff were absolutely on their A-game, and all aspects of the service were great. We waited a noticeably long time for our orders, but given how packed it was, nobody complained. When the food arrived, the orders were perfect. I had the "Black and Blue" Bleu Cheese salad with beef tenderloin and it was great. Others said they enjoyed their lunch. Our waitress was attentive, beverages were refreshed constantly.
nice place, went for dinner .was a nice crowd not packed with people,so wasn't please with time on aps.manager did come over and comp. our aps so that was nice.got charge for items did not order. but overall please with my dining exp.
I really like Ruth's Chris steakhouse and eat there when I can (when I travel). I was a bit surprised that my steak was a bit overcooked. The manager came speak to me and offered another steak, but I was ok with the one I had. He did make an adjustment on my bill because of it. I don't believe this is a negative. This was a rare event and the manager did try to make it right. I was pleased and will continue to eat at Ruth's Chris when I can!
