You can't find a better steak! Outstanding food, service, and hospitality! Will be back soon!
Service was excellent, and food was fantastic!
This visit to Ruth's Chris was wonderful! The food was especially good this time. And our server, Brigitta, hands down one of the best! I am not really into chain restaurants; however, they do a good job at this location.
OUTSTANDING! Paula greeted us with a genuine smile and polite welcome and our evening was off to a great start. The pace was accommodating and casual casual and the service was attentive and professional. The food stood up to the high standard that Ruth has established and continues to be the standard bearer for phenomenal dining. The menu has options for everyone with a myriad of accompaniments to please every palette. The wine list also presents plenty of options and being able to cap off any dinner with Haagen Dazs let's you know it was a special night. Thanks RC Midlothian. Well done!
Excellent service by all 3 servers we had working our date night. Exceptional food. Eat everything and loved every bite all the way from start to finish.
My husband and I had dinner to celebrate my birthday. Everything was great from the moment we walked in the door. Our waiter Andre was great as was all of the staff. I especially enjoyed how all of the staff made a point to know it was my birthdayand wish me a happy one. Most of all the food was delicious. I had the crab cakes which were amazing and my husband enjoyed his steak. We also had the sweet potato casserole which was to die for. Great dining experience.
We have been to Ruth’s Chris many times and always found the steaks to be superb quality. However, tonight’s experience was different. All six of us had steaks and found them to be inferior in taste and preparation. None of them were flavorful and lacked seasoning. Three of the six were overcooked; they were ordered medium rare and were served medium plus. Management showed they cared about our disappointing dinner with a price adjustment.
Birthday dinner and it was amazing! Everyone was very kind and the food was great!
The calamari was fantastic. T-bone was great and cooked to a perfect med.rare. Friendly staff everywhere. Expensive but worth the price.
Lives up to it's reputation. Although a somewhat formal atmosphere, they make you feel relaxed.
All I can say is Ruth’s Chris is the best Resturant in Richmond. The steaks are the best and the service is second to none. We look forward to coming back to Ruth’s Chris on our way down to Naples and on our return trip to Rhode Island .
Everyone at Ruth’s Chris is absolutely wonderful.
I have to give a shout out to Paula the hostess at the restaurant. The night we arrived it was teaming rain and there was Paula with an umbrella walking people to their cars and as we pulled up in front she had her umbrella ready to walk me in.
That night there was no valet service , but who needed it when we had Paula.
I can not say enough about this restaurant .
Ruth’s Chris has the whole package, great food, ambiance and best of all a great group of people that are there every time we go for a wonderful dinner. See you in October our Ruth’s Chris friends. Thanks Daniel for always making a point to come over to our table to welcome us back.
Ruth Chris is an amazing restaurant. We love going here as the food and service are always exceptional. Such a warm atmosphere.
Great service and nice atmosphere.
Bathrooms out of order. Food normally excellent but steak over cooked this time. Didn’t send back just dealt with it this time. No gumbo! It wasn’t on the menu what happened?
We come to Ruth's Chris every year to celebrate our interns when they graduate. The food is always excellent, and we also appreciate the little extras that they do, such as decorating the table with festive confetti to help our interns feel even more special. Seafood, lamb, and steak are all wonderful!
Good ambience. Our waiter, James, was excellent as were the ancillary staff. Staff makes you feel welcome as soon as you walk in. The steak was perfectly prepared as was the rest of the meal. Would highly recommend Ruth’s Chris.
Enjoyed every moment
Great Food & Great Service!!
This place always is the perfect spot to celebrate special occassions. We love it here. The food, service, and ambience is perfect. They surprised us with beautiful and tasty anniversary wishes! See photos below.
Always a treat! Never disappoints!
Great as always. My family had a great Birthday dinner and we’ll be back.
Great...not crowded! We went for Easter and the service was lovely!
We've been to the Ruth's Chris in DC and in Raleigh. This one is not as good food wise. Having said this, the service is impeccable. Being clear, the food was not "bad" just that we recall the food being better at the other locations. We might return.
Great ambiance, staff was very accomodating - definitely made you feel pampered.
The bottled spring water was amazing, the sides were terrific, the bread and butter were wonderful - but both of our entrees were over cooked and dry.
The waiter missed ordering my husband's side dish, but that was NO big deal and quickly righted.
The signature T-bone for which there was much boasting that when cooked medium, could be "cut with a butter knife" could barely be cut with the steak knife. It may have come out as medium, but after the additional cooking from the 500* plate, it was as dry and "done" as medium well or even well (my husband did not finish his steak and THAT is very unusual).
My Filet on the bone was not medium rare as ordered, until you got right near the bone - the rest was over braised and not even pink; again, quite dry.
Previous experiences have not been so disappointing, so I know they are capable of much more; but at their prices, one is not unreasonable when expecting something closer to perfection, every time.
Excellent dining experience with friends. Highly recommend if you want a good steak and high quality food. We enjoyed our meals and the se vice was excellent. Highly recommend to others looking for a great steak meal. My husband and I shared a 40oz tomahawk.
Tasty 😋 and well worth the price.
We celebrated our 28th wedding anniversary! The hospitality and service was outstanding!
We love this place. Even if we’re just having appetizers and drinks in the bar, it feels special.
The meal and the service was great! Tim the server was top notch!
This location is extremely nice the ambiance was wonderful. The service impeccable.
The impeccable service truly sets Ruth’s Chris apart from the rest. From the hostess to our wonderful waitress Kathy, everyone was warm and welcoming, Kathy made sure we had everything we needed, and the food was out of this world. Definitely recommend for any special occasion or a romantic date night.
My experience was wonderful. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and the creamed spinach is to die for. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and attentive. This wasn’t my first experience with this location and it will definitely not be the last
Exactly what you would expect from a premier steakhouse. The Richmond Ruth’s Chris is uniquely located in a historic farmhouse dating back the when the French Hugeunots were colonizing along the James River above Richmond. So a five star history lesson and location along with a five star dining experience.
Great filet. We had a really friendly server named Zach.
Good but the cups for drinks had lip stick and a crack.. the bar tender should have caught that! BUT other than that good.
I was surprised to see the Ruth's Chris in Richmond was in an old historic plantation house. The ambiance was amazing and driving up to the house you have to take a double look to make sure that your in the right spot. The service was good, and the food was great. My chicken was a bit dry, but everyone else had a perfectly cooked steak. The server was very friendly and knowledgable on the menu. It was a wonderful experience and I would love to visit again.
Outstanding, as usual! I have been a Ruth's Chris CUSTOMER since New Orleans 1983. Only better are Palm and Peter Luger's, NYC. Do prefer older male waiters.
The service is incredible. The food is overpriced and drenched in butter. This is a menu issue. They need to get up with the times. Don’t saturate everything in butter.
Also, don’t put everything on hot plates. Fish goes from cooked to way over cooked in no time.
