Ruth's Chris Steak House - Houston Ratings and Reviews
The food was great, however the service was not spectacular like I’m use to receiving from Ruth’s Chris. I completely understand that serving a large party presents unique problems but we collectively felt rushed almost as if the server was more interested in flipping the table instead of creating a memorable experience for my wife’s 40th birthday celebration.
We requested a specific waiter and the restaurant didn't call us to tell us that he wouldn't be there the night we came. Very poor PR. Our waiter, Mitch was slow and we had to flag him down a couple of times and remind him to take care of us. My lobster bisque was cold and I had to send it back to be re-heated. No one ever came by after our dinner was served to ask if our food was OK--we were left on our own. All-in-all, not the most pleasant dining experience.
My husband and I visited this location for our 9th wedding anniversary. We had 7pm reservations and arrived 10 minutes early. We were seated 5 minutes early. The hostess was very polite, as well as our waitress. The food was awesome. I ordered the crabcakes and my husband had the ribeye. I also had a great martini!
Have frequented Ruth’s Chris for many years all over the country and this was the exception. One steak had to be replaced because it was a filet loaded with gristle. The other three were poor quality and had absolutely no taste. With so many places to eat, I may not visit this location again.
October 14th celebrating birthday. First time at this restaurant. Service and food very good. I had the lamb chops and they were excellent. My date had the bone in filet and it was good also
It was a bit too dark but thanks to the waitress Louise we did ok.
Would recommend this restaurant to my friends and plan to return
We've been to a number of Ruth's Chris in the US and Mexico. They never disappoint. Great valet service, seated quickly, nice atmosphere, courteous staff, and excellent food worth every penny. The kitchen was a bit slower tonight but well worth the wait. Thanks for making my wife's birthday special.
Food and service was very good as per usual. Although the meal was good, it seemed to lack the attention to the seasoning (butter) as we have become accustomed to. The service was superb and decor for the birthday celebration was terrific! All and all a very pleasant experience!
This used to be one of my favorite steak houses here in Houston but since the opening of so many comparable restaurants in the area, the quality of service at Ruths Chris has drastically declined.
During my last visit, I choose to sit at the bar as I was dressed very casually. There was an issue with the restaurant's soda machine; since it was not working WE had to suggest that the restaurant go and purchase bottled soda for guest. (I really can't believe they didn't think to do so sooner.) Additionally, there were several tables right next to us that went uncleaned for almost an hour after the guest had left.
During this visit, I sat in the dining area only to be surprised that other guests were dressed in gym shorts and flip flops. (This is unexpected especially considering the dress code the restaurant seemed to strictly enforce in the past.) The server was nice but VERY SLOW considering there were only four tables with guests in the main dining area.
Needless to say, I will surely miss the awesome stuffed chicken breast from Ruths Chris but I definitely will not be back to this location.
Celebrated birthday and informed this on reservation. No acknowledgement was done , waiter didn't know had to tell him after fact. Service was horrible waited long for drinks and appetizers orders. It's was so hot in the location we were at. Terrible terrible terrible for the price of the food!
I've been to several Ruth's Chris restaurants, and this one did not disappoint. The steaks were delicious as were the vegetables. We were all very happy with our cocktails and wine. I had a superb Lemon Drop martini. For me, the best part was the white chocolate bread pudding with a divine sauce. As usual, the service was wonderful and the restaurant was lovely. I enjoyed the fact that although it was filled, we were able to talk to each other at our table in a normal voice without shouting to be heard.
