Ruth's Chris Steak House - North Raleigh Ratings and Reviews
We dined on a special night, Valentines evening. The food was good. The restaurant set-up, however, seemed cramped/crowded. With the tables so close together the noise level was unusually high. The entire experience seemed rushed in comparison to the normal dining experience at Ruth’s Chris. The rose petals on the table were a nice thought, but looked wilted and old. I love Ruth’s Chris. I am actually a stock holder as well as a customer. This particular experience was not the norm, nor what I expect when I choose to come to Ruth’s Chris.
It was chilly the night we went and the table we had was right in the pathway of the door and when people would open the door, cold air would blow through. I got so chilly I had to put my coat on. The steak was exceptional(butter makes everything better), wait staff was good, but the dessert options were disappointing for a special occasion.
My husband and I visited for our Pre Valentine dinner. It was his first time, and I have visited this location and Virginia Beach location in the past.
He was so happy, and really enjoyed everything. Samatha our waitress was excellent in the great services she extended to her, which really made his first visit all the more special.
We are not new to Ruth’s Chris, in fact this location is often our last minute date night/overnight as we live 60 miles away. However, after the wonderful evening we spent here Friday night, I had to take a minute and review this experience. I made a reservation online and was delighted with the confirmation phone call that followed the day of our dinner. Super sweet employee (my apologies, I did not get her name) who asked if it was a special occasion and if we needed anything. We arrived early and were greeted by a smiling and delightful hostess who checked us in before we made our way to the bar for a cocktail and a nibble before we were seated for dinner.
We have been here many times so how we have not met Anita before we are unsure, but what a GEM! Anita is that person who is a privilege to have on your team. She was a wealth of knowledge and her enthusiasm in sharing that knowledge is contagious. While we enjoyed the delicious Tuna appetizer and a began with a very cold lovely GG martini, Anita was very knowledgeable about wines and even suggested tastings not on the menu. What a lovely young woman!
Dinner followed and we were handed off to a very capable and efficient Jeremy in the dining room. Jeremy’s suggestions were spot on and our wine selection was the perfect pairing.
Everything was delicious as always, but the real motivation behind this review is when the restaurant called the day after to thank us for dining with them, I knew I could not allow the opportunity to slip by without calling attention to a fabulous staff at this particular Ruth’s Chris venue. In a time when great customer service is often hard to find (we are in fact business owners) it is always a pleasure when someone is assisting you and is doing so genuinely.
Thank you for making just a regular Friday evening into a fabulous date night!
We went for Triangle Restaurant Week. They had a 3 course preset menu for a great price. Only extras were sides or wine because at Ruth's Chris your Steak is A la Cart. Needless to say, the steak was perfect and the sides were fantastic. The ambiance is always warm and inviting, and the noise level is just below a normal room. Great time to spend with friends, glad we got to go.
We loved our steaks! Service was good. We had a server come to the table and only address my husband, ignored me, thankfully a second server came shortly after and took over, she was great. The server recommended adding the lobster tail, but failed to tell me it had spices on top, almost creole. I did not care for it at all, a good lobster does not need that flavoring and it was overdone. Stick with the steak here, can't go wrong.
Went to Ruth’s Chris Steak House on a date and the restaurant proved to have phenomenal ambience and noise level was low so that we could hear ourselves in conversation. The steak was amazing and served on a 500 degree plate, that kept your meal hot while you were eating. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
As always, an excellent time at Ruth's Chris. The only thing I hate is that they called me both before and after the reservation - this was perceived as annoying, although I imagine some people like/appreciate it. We went for restaurant week, where you can get a little more bang for your buck. Outstanding service and ambiance.
We go to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse every Thanksgiving and have for the past 6 years. We love this tradition and will continue into the foreseeable future. We had a wonderful diner and a fantastic server in Vernon. We highly recommend asking for him the next time you are at Ruth's Chris. We will be back soon and certainly for Thanksgiving 2018.
Fantastic Thanksgiving meal---everything was perfectly prepared. The service was outstanding. They even supplied us with leftovers to extend the experience to the next day! This was our second visit for a Thanksgiving meal, and we would happily do it again next year.
We had a 3-course Thanksgiving meal here at this Ruth's Chris, and we really enjoyed ourselves in the very charming atmosphere of elegance. The service was top notch. Our first course and our bread serving was very good, the main course of turkey, stuffing, and side dish was excellent. The third course was good, but it would have been better to give the customers a choice of desserts without upcharge instead of only pumpkin cheesecake and any other dessert was a $4.00 upcharge. The wine was great so overall we would highly recommend this Ruth's Chris for Thanksgiving dinner, and we hope maybe next year they will give a few dessert selections without an upcharge for choosing something other than pumpkin cheesecake.
The filet was excellent and the service was good. The appetizers and side plates were unremarkable and substandard (brussels sprouts and fire-roasted corn were not up to par with lower-end restaurants; the “crab-filled” mushrooms were mostly filled with breadcrumbs, mushy, and completely below standard). The shrimp cocktail was visually impressive, with very large shrimp, but they were bland and the cocktail sauce was unremarkable). The biggest issue is the value. I have no issue spending this amount of money on high-end food; however, $300 for a dinner for two warrants something special - this is not NYC or London. Simply put, the only thing special was the quality of the filet, and that’s not sufficient to justify the exorbitant prices. Completely not worth it. Spend your hard-earned money elsewhere.
Always a great steak but really quite expensive since any substitutions on classic 3 course is automatic $4 charge, plus 2 double shots of regular bourbon was $60! Service at bar is always superb but drinks EXPENSIVE! Understand high prices in restaurant but Wish restaurant would really consider making it a bit more reasonable for everyday dining in the bar. Thanks,
This Special Event was for our 36th Anniversary and our son's 2nd Anniversary. We arrived at 6:00 p.m. and were sat right away. The restaurant was far from full. We were looking forward to a great dinner together since both couples share the exact same date for our anniversary's. Our son and his wife were especially looking forward to the prime rib at Ruth's Chris, since that is their favorite. Ordered drinks - that was fine, but it seemed to take forever for the waiter to come take our dinner order, but finally we ordered dinner - that was fine...so far. Moments later the waiter returned and said that all of the prime rib was already gone! Say what...this place specializes in beef, and it had only been open for 2 hours before we arrived, how could they be out of the Sunday dinner special already? Okay...this is not the waiters fault! Our son and his wife were obviously very disappointing. But...here's the clincher...the waiter suggested the El'primeo filet instead. Say what again...it was considerably more expensive and all of the sides were separate. He didn't want a filet. That seemed to set the tone for the rest of the evening. Everything that was offered throughout the evening, also came with "for $4 more" you can get...blah...blah...blah! Really...how about just getting us what we asked for and stop trying to upgrade literally everything! Our food finally came out and guess what? There was no baked potato with my son's dinner. Everyone else received everything...so do we sit and wait until his food comes out and let our food get cold? It was 5 or 6 minutes before the waiter returned and my wife asked him where the baked potato was. That's when the waiter indicated it wasn't ready yet. Another 10 minutes or so passed before it came to the table. Hummm...really! Care to guess what 4 adults at Ruth's Chris costs. Definitely, not worth the money and we are not going back to that restaurant again! Going back to Vinnie's or Angus Barn instead.
