Ruth's Chris Steak House - Princeton Ratings and Reviews
Drinks were not right even after sending back. Wrong salad came out. Steaks were undercooked. Mashed potatoes were cold. Manager took steaks back after advising that he would put new steaks on the grill. He brought back the same undercooked steaks. After giving my meal back, and asking for the check, desserts that came with the meal were bagged and placed in take out containers as though we were being sent out of the restaurant. Check comes and there was no accommodation at all. Manager implied that I should be pleased that the meal and the drinks I gave back were credited (as in the meals and drinks they screwed up and that we did not consume). This was a total fail and a total disappointment. The situation was totally mishandled. Ruth’s Chris Princeton is off of my list.
Great food. Disinterested bartender in bar area. Went here on the evening of a snowstorm. When the hostess called to confirm our reservation she asked if our attire was business casual! I found that to be offensive. Next time I would choose a steakhouse that cared more about their service than my attire.
Food was fantastic. I took my best friend for her birthday as it’s one of her favorite places. It is on the pricier side otherwise I’d go back more often and order a variation of food as everything was delicious. But I suppose if it were cheaper it wouldn’t taste so good!
Have visited this Princeton location various times before . The food is always 5 stars and the service on this visit was also exceptional. The wait staff of Joe and Sean were attentive and courteous to both me and my wife . Even the parking attendant was excellent! I cannot say that for the three women at the hostess stand who where rude and disrespectful. I was running a little late due to Princeton route 1 traffic and had enough respect for the restaurant to call them and let them know I would be 15 minutes late even though when we got there the restaurant was nearly empty . The respect and courtesy was not reciprocal by those at the front desk . I would only give this location 1 star because they are so rude and disrespectful that it could ruin the whole occasion . All three of the hostesses that worked December 8 At 5:30 should realize that they are the first contact with customers . Even when we left all three where there , and I assume with the male manager ,and he too was rude . Usually when we leave a supposed professional restaurant the staff says, I hope you enjoyed your meal or goodnight , not ignore you . I won’t be back !

I have been here close to a dozen times over the past few years and while the steak is always great, the ambiance, service, and apps/sides seems to be going down hill. For some reason we always seem to get stuck in some back room instead of the main dining room. We always ask for a specific waiter and we never get him. Not sure why he gave us his business card and told us to ask for him because we have only been sat with him once after requesting him multiple times.
All in all the steak is great here but not sure If it warrants a bill of $250. The sides and appetizers were warm and you can tell were sitting for a while before being brought out to us. This isn't the first time this has happened. I don't mind paying for a great meal, but there has to be a better over all consumer experience than what I have been experiencing as of late.
My wife and I have eaten at a couple of Ruth Chris Steakhouses and we found the ambience at Princeton the best but the food was not as good, at least this time, as it was in Atlantic City. I gave the restaurant an average on value because I think they are a little pricey, but all in all, for a romantic date, it was very nice.
We had to wait ½ hour in the reception area to be seated. It was VERY crowded. Wait staff was buzzing to/from the kitchen to bar seating area with trays of food. It was not a safe situation. The caesar salad was good. THE BEST was the osso bucco ravioli appetizer!!! Would def reorder. Our filet and ribeye were cooked to perfection. Creamed spinach was too salty. Sweet potato casserole too sweet. The 1 lbs fully loaded potato and roasted brussel sprouts were delicious. Great cocktails and wine list. Would go back for Thanksgiving but secure a later than 5:30 reservation to avoid the larger crowd checking in around the 5-5:30 p.m. hour.
Ruth’s Chris consistently serves the best filet mignon I’ve ever eaten! We went there to celebrate Thanksgiving day. They had a special Thanksgiving menu with turkey, but we opted for steak instead. We began with a Caesar salad, which was delicious. I ordered my steak with a loaded baked potato and it was heavenly. For dessert we had a special treat – pumpkin cheesecake with vanilla ice cream. It was out of this world! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys a good steak in a classy setting.
On Thanksgiving it can be difficult to dine alone but the quality of the food and attentive service at Ruth Christ goes a long way to ameliorate that! On this occasion they offered a special consisting of the 6 ounce filet and two lobster tails. Both were done exactly as desired and presented wonderfully. The fingerling potatoes lyonnaise were also very good. I tried the grilled corn but despite the description they were practically flavorless. This was a rare misstep at this restaurant. The heritage tomato and mozzarella salad was excellent as was the creme brûlée.
Wine recommendation was great. Dine there frequently. My ribeye was under seasoned than usual and more
Medium than “medium rare” requested. May have been on their hot plates too long or just slightly overcooked when prepared. The blue cheese crust I usually pair it with was complimenting.
Spicy shrimp app was spot on!
I’ll be back at some point.
Save your money and go somewhere else—-totally overpriced.
I’ve been to this Ruth Chris on many occasions and this was the most disappointing visit—by far. The food was so so, the restroom was dirty, and our booth had holes in each of the bench seats. Our server was attentive and nice. Overall, not worth the price.
The table service was up to standards of not many restaurants. ALL the dishes were cleared before coffee and dessert, usually bread, butter etc. gets left behind. I never felt that the waitress disappeared. Also the wait staff were not teens but seasoned veterans. For a large area the noise level was low and conversations from close tables did not intrude.
The food was delicious and the price was high as expected at a Ruths Chris. But the service really set the meal apart. We had two servers (Mauricio and Sarah) and they were both fantastic. They were fun, personable and helped us select dishes. We enjoyed the meal.
