Ruth's Chris Steak House - Portland Ratings and Reviews
The service was very poor. I have been going to this location since it moved from it’s prior PORTLAND location. The waiter was overworked and inattentive. I had to remind him about an appetizer order at least 30 minutes after we ordered it, after waiting 20 minutes to even have a waiter come to the table. Two of our steak orders (out of four) were wrong, but given the poor, untimely service, we just ate. The worst experience I have had in many years of going to this location. I will not be returning or recommending this location in the future.
The meal was great for our dinner, the only downside was that our group of 8 was seated right at the entry of the restaurant which isn't ideal for me and not towards the rear of the place. Service was prompt at the beginning but then when it came time to get our check it took close to 45 minutes after our dessert and our wait staff wasn't around much after we finished our main course.
Unfortunately for a milestone birthday, it was a very, very disappointed evening dinner.
Only the cocktail and complimentary dessert really hit the spot. I, the Birthday customer, had to pass my ribeye steak to my 90 year old friend. His was not acceptable. My steak arrived, another disappointment, leaving me with no option but to accept the plate within the time left to enjoy our meal. Sorry, but nothing there that would tempt us to ever return to this location. Cannot even compare to Laurelhurst Market or Sayler's Country Kitchen. My last birthday meal we enjoyed there was really good. Too bad it slipped to this level.
First of all, we had a reservation, arrived a few minutes after our reservation time, and still had to wait 10 minutes for our table to be ready. It was a little off-putting, especially for a Sunday evening.
After being seated, the service and food was excellent! Our waiter was very pleasant, helpful and personable. My husband loved his Dirty Martini. The steaks were the best! Husband ordered the 16oz ribeye, and I ordered the 6oz filet with shrimp...so very good! We ordered the mushroom cous cous and garlic mashed potatoes for sides...both really good. We had the creme brulee and cheesecake for dessert. Both were good, but the creme brulee was one of the best we've ever experienced.
Overall, wonderful dinner and service. Only recommendation would be for the reservation tables to be ready at reservation time. After all, isn't that why customers make reservations? We were seated 15 minutes after our reservation time. I feel that is ridiculous.
We went for our anniversary and had a fantastic dinner! The steak was so good! I had the filet and my husband tried the ribeye. For our shareable side we had the lobster mac and cheese which was excellent! Our table was surprisingly decorated with rose petals for our anniversary and there was a card on the table as well, the service was excellent. Our waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu and friendly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a special occasion or even just a nice dinner(:
We have eaten at Ruth Chris numerous times over the last 14 years. This was our first time dining out on Christmas Day. It was overall a great experience. The greeting hostess was a little cold but the experience after that was excellent. Our server was very professional, funny and knowledgeable. Food was excellent. We will be back next Christmas for sure and most likely before that.
I've eaten at Ruth's Chris at many different locations across the country and this was the worst experience by far. It took a long time to get drinks, mind you there were only four tables. Then it took a very long time for our server to come and take our order. I tried to order an items that were on the menu, they put the order in and came back 10 min later and said they don't offer those items anymore. They probably shouldn't have it on the menu then. They weren't sold out of it because the restaurant was empty and it was early. That is what I get for dinning at a chain restaurant in Portland when this city has so much more to offer.
The porterhouse steak for two was incredibly tasty, I mean really delicious!!! Perhaps the best I have ever had in my life! The freshly baked bred was hot and very very good however the Brussel sprouts were a little undercooked. Other than the Brussel sprouts being sub par everything else was superb, the service, ambiance, and friendly staff will make me return, I just won’t order you know what...
It was our 24th anniversary and they had a beautiful table with decorations along with a card which I accidentally left there. The food was awesome and our waitstaff were friendly and very helpful. We would definitely recommend and will go back soon. Thank you for the wonderful experience!!
We have come here for several years for our anniversary. This year however was disappointing. We ordered an appetizer and they never brought it. When we told the waiter about it, he didnt seem to care at all. The food was great as always but we felt cheated by the experience. We noticed that the service isnt always up to par for the price. Maybe because we dont order a bunch of alcohol we get less attention. We will probably try somewhere else next year.
