Ruth's Chris Steak House - Portland

Great food, but very expensive for what it is. $50+ for a steak, $10+ for a side and $45+ for a bottle of wine

We waited over 30 min past our reservation and then after we were seated waited another 30 min before anyone came over to our table. My salad was very unappetizing and my turkey dinner was cold. No one came to ask us how our meal was or if we needed anything else. The server seemed very stressed and irritated but tried to be pleasant after he could tell we weren’t happy. I had been on an airplane all day to get to my son and have thanksgiving dinner with him for the first time in years. We were so disappointed.

Dined on. Thanksgiving evening. The restaurant was very busy as expected. The Thanksgiving special was a great value and very filling. The service was a little lagging, but service was friendly nonetheless.

Great place to celebrate a holiday! Food was excellent except for the pumpkin cheesecake where it tasted like a bottle of cloves fell into the batter.

My family went to Ruth's Cris for Thanksgiving. Everything was perfect! We were seated right away. Our server was knowledgeable and took good care of us. The best part was the food. Everything from the bread (warm and chewy), to the salads (perfectly dressed) to the entrees (melt in your mouth) was delicious. We will definitely be going back.

Ruth's Chris never disappoints. This was our first holiday meal there, and we were not disappointed: the food was fantastic, and the service--as always--was stellar.

This visit was disappointing, the filet, beef in general was not up to par. Tough and stringy unlike the last visit a month or so ago. Don’t know why the sudden drop in quality of the filet. Better look into it.

We absolutely love ruth's chris. there is no better cowboy ribeye on the planet. the seafood tower is spectacular and the staff takes incredible care in every area.

We had a really great waiter for the evening. Very friendly and engaging; his name was Ryan (great personality and personable) and he added to the overall fun evening we had. We began with drinks (which were delicious) then enjoyed the lobster bisque soup, salads and stuffed mushrooms. All of which were very tasty. We were encouraged that the bone in filet and rib eye were the ways to go and they absolutely did not disappoint. Incredibly juicy and tender. Mouth watering melt in your mouth delicious. We also enjoyed mushrooms and the lobster Mac and cheese for our sides. The mushrooms were a perfect add on. We weren’t sold on the Mac and cheese (the lobster taste wasn’t great and the lobster was more of a shredded texture). We didn’t order dessert as we filled up on dinner but we stayed awhile to visit and close out the night. Then a Ryan came over and brought us a dessert to share. We had just celebrated one of our parties birthday so we all enjoyed a bite and it was a perfect ending to a great evening!! This just may be our “new” steak house restaurant!!

Beautiful bar and restaurant in downtown Portland. First time there. Enjoyed happy hour in bar, and reservation dinner in a cozy booth. Celebrating my birthday! Table was decorated with birthday sparkles. Extensive menu, impeccable service. We shared their chopped salad, which was delicious. Warm bread served with cream, sweet butter sprinkled with sea salt. Yum! I ordered the barbecue shrimp over mash potatoes, which was so full of flavor. Ate all of the shrimp, something I love. My husband had the petit fillet grilled to perfection with baked potato. All so good! For my birthday dessert, I could order any dessert from that menu, and I chose the chocolate duo, which I shared with my husband. It was decadent, and we thoroughly enjoyed it! A must have.....

My fiancée got a new job, so we went to Ruth's Chris to celebrate. The food was amazing, steaks were cooked to perfection, and our server was extremely helpful in picking the ideal bottle of wine that paired with our meal. Be sure to leave room for dessert as the creme brulee is not to be missed!

Fantastic on all Fronts as usual for our son’s birthday

Had a reservation for 7:45, arrived 7:45, seated at 8:10. After the wait, order was taken almost immediately then we waited over an hour for our food. It arrived at 9:20. Only ordered a steak and a salad. Steak came out blue rare, ordered it medium rare. Teri me experience. Only thing that made this experience ok was the manager complimented the meal and it did t cost m anything.

It was very busy , think they were having an off night .
We waited for the valet parking for about 5 minutes, but there was only one driver , so I think you could have had more than one person.
Reservation was for 7, we were not seated until 715. They screwed up our drink order , and one of the fillet orders was almost rare . It was supposed to be medium rare ; ended up not eating the fillet at all . Chicken was not as good as usual , tastes like it had been sitting on the counter for awhile. One of our friends cowboy steak looked like it was not prepared right , was supposed to ge medium rare too but was rare .
The au gratin potato dish was bad - potatoes were raw ! They were but cooked all the way .
All in all , worst meal / experience we have had there . We have been coming for years on my boyfriends birthday, so this was disappointing.

Quality of steak was not that great. Both of us had fillets and would have to rate them as only above average. Service, ambiance and noise level was very good.

We go to a Ruth's Chris whenever we travel if there is one in town. This was the worst Filet we have ever had. It was not tender as a Filet should be. We go to a Ruth's Chris at least once a week when we are in FL and have always had a good meal. Not sure what happen at this one. We did address our concerns with the Manager and he said he would relay to the Chef and supplier. The service we received by Katie was excellent. She is a top notch and a keeper!

Great steaks. Enjoyed calamari to start and a perfectly grilled filet and asparagus.

Consistently great food, service and value, probably one of the best steakhouse with great seafood selections as well, in Portland.

Raul provided us with amazing service. Everything was cooked perfectly and the overall experience was excellent. Highly exceeded our expectations. We will definitely go back and hope to have Raul as our server once again!

We had a wonderful and knowledgeable server from Italy who was very sweet and held a great conversation. I had the petite fillet and my husband had the petite ribeye, both were done to perfection. Only thing I would suggest is to ask for a separate plate to put the steak on to so it doesn’t continue to cook while you are enjoying it.

Food was excellent, as always. Our server, Jim, was outstanding.

Typical steak house chain that you can find across the country. However, I just love these steaks. They use excellent cut of steaks and the dry again ensures when you get a steak medium rare, it comes red but little to no blood. Sizzle that butter in the 500-degree plate and the steak is wonderful. Great sides as well. You will pay for this type of steakhouse, but the food and the service is excellent. Will be back...again here or another location across the country!

Always a favorite place for serious steak and seafood! Loved the service Mary was funny and served us well!
