Ruth's Chris Steak House - Ponte Vedra Beach Ratings and Reviews
There's no doubt that this restaurant offers a good quality of meal. I like to go for special occasions since the food is very rich and they cook with a lot of butter. And, I'm not a big fan of greasy heavy food but again, for special occasions you bend the rule.
very disappointed in the quality of the porter house. I shared this with my wife. We both felt it was stringy and not at all a prime cut. Definitely not worth the rather high price. We don't mind paying the price but expect a prime cut. We were in a business meeting, otherwise I would have discussed this with the manager
Was sandwiched in between 2 large tables. One a table of 6 women the other a table that kept growing all evening. They started out with 9 and grew to 12 before we left. Extremely loud and obnoxious. Kept addng chairs to their table. Asked me if they could borrow a chair from my table. Loud talking, people walking around the table chatting ng and laughing. Not a quiet place to have a meal. Waiter was nice but seemed to disappear for long periods of time. Took 2.5 hours for dinner. He seemed to think we would enjoy not rushing, but this was ridiculously long. The Ruth's Chris downtown is more quiet and even though your waiter is busy, it seems like the staff is always ready to chip in. Not at Ponte Vedra. We asked for a water view and we got it but it got dark so fast we didn't get to enjoy the lake..which I realize is not the restaurants fault. People kept bumping my partners chair and never excused themsrlves.. not the place to go for a quiet dining expierence on a Saturday night.
Good and service are always great at this location. They always go above and beyond to make special occasions memorable, and Austin was an excellent host. Because I’ve been there so much I wish they’d update the bar area to accommodate more people and not be so congested, and difficult to get to the bar to order.
We were there for my birthday (September). It was a family outing. We had never been to this Ruth Chris before. We had previously (August 2014) been to the Ruth Chris downtown.
We were seated in the back center. It was extremely cold & I felt it as soon as we left the lobby area. Confetti was already sprinkled on the tablecloth & there was a signed card on the table from the servers (except for the servers we had at our table, TJ & Heather, which I had them sign the card before we left). Even though I had a jacket on, I was still chilly & TJ was gracious enough to accommodate & adjusted the temp (although the a/c frequently kept coming back on).
We had opted for the 3-course meal. Smaller portions but plenty to fill all of us (& we still had take-home boxes). My dessert was upgraded to one off the dessert menu. I had the creme brulee (excellent). The desserts my family had that were part of the 3-course meals were equally delicious (so I was told as they finished all of theirs).
Cloth napkins (your choice of black or white depending on what you're wearing). Even getting up to use the restroom, back at the table, my napkin was re-folded & placed back on the table next to my plate.
Bread basket was graciously refilled as we waited for our meals to arrive. Manager (or Maitre D) were visibly watching the dining areas. I saw two actually, one in a dark suit & one in a light colored suit.
