Ruth's Chris Steak House - Pittsburgh
Located in PPG Place, the crown jewel of the Pittsburgh skyline, you will find Ruth's Chris Steak House within walking distance of all the downtown businesses, Market Square, and the Cultural District.
The restaurant serves "sizzling" lunches Monday through Friday and dinner seven nights a week.
Steaks were great. Desserts were terrible. Cherry cobbler and bread pudding very bad.
When you decide to go to a fine dining steakhouse, what you don't expect is for your steak to be overcooked. The service was exceptional.
We were early for our reservation, so we sat at the bar for a cocktail and the bar staff were great. The bartender created a special request drink for one of our friends who was with us.
Once seated at our table, our staff and food were fabulous. We will definitely return!
We were celebrating our anniversary. They gave us a dessert on the house. The steak was perfect! Beautiful restaurant.
Excellent steaks. Love the searing plate and nice added touch for our dessert since it was our anniversary
Prix Fix lunch is fabulous!!!
party of three. two of us ordered the petite filet. one medium and one medium rare. one of us ordered the 11 oz filet medium well.
we all received well done steaks. very disappointing.
We really enjoy the food but, even for a very good restaurant, the price is a bit too high compared to others. Including tip, our dinner was $197 for 2 people.
Outstanding as always!
Steaks weren’t as good as we usually get at Ruth’s Chris. The salads and sides were really good. Service was okay.
Fantastic as always!
I am a big fan of Ruth's Chris and have dined at a number of different locations. I have always been very pleased with the food and the service. This visit was no exception. However, my filet mignon was not quite up to the same level of quality as I have experienced in the past --- I'm not sure why but the meat was not as tender and succulent as it has almost always been in the past. Other members of my party had made the same comment. I'm hoping / expecting that this was just one of the nights and our next visit more satisfying
Great meal and service as we expect. Love eating g at all the Ruth Chris locations.
We went in for a nice business meal and met some locals in the bar area. The night turned out great although our group might have gotten a bit loud. The management was very understanding and made sure we had a ball!
This is one of my favorite Ruth’s!
The steaks were horrible. They had a weird taste to them .
Very nice relaxing atmosphere. Food was great.no hurry in ordering your food.i was there for my birthday and they made it special
Filet Mignon quality was not what we were expecting. It has been much better in the past. Way too much sodium in everything. Service was great and very friendly. Noise level was too high. Overall, a 6.5 rating out of 10.
Always perfect! We had the porterhouse for two. Cook on target and delicious. Bar is a fun atmosphere.
Best lunch in Pittsburgh. Always outstanding!
Incredible evening celebrating with family and friends. Food was perfect. Can't wait to come back!
Anniversary dinner. Great spot and always great food
So for the food is so so. The calamari was not great at all, all breading and covered in their sauce. My lamb chops were chewy, and the brussel sprouts tasted like bacon grease. My boyfriend said his steak was really good but the lobster was nothing to brag about. Our drinks took forever, and I ordered a glass of wine for dinner and I did not get till after my dinner
I will not be back!
One of the best steak houses there is. Beautiful Area of downtown Pittsburgh
Excellent meal; great service
We were there to celebrate our 49th anniversary. Our server, David, made us feel at home and guided us through menu selections!! The meal was perfect and we had a memorable experience.
A perfect spot for a business lunch or any any night for dinner.
I had lunch today with a business associate. I have had both lunch and dinner at this location dozens of times over the years.
Today was disappointing, my filet was cooked perfectly, 75% of the steak was what I expect for prime filet, very delicious.
25% of the steak was not edible due to fibrous meat and gristle on one end.
This should never occur at a high end prime cut steakhouse!
Excellent service and excellent food
Thanks for a great evening
Steaks were cooked to perfection, the side dishes were great but cooled off rather quickly. It would be a better experience if the side dishes could some how be kept warmer over the course of` the meal. Deserts were exceptional. The service was outstanding we had a enjoyable experience
Business. Great place fir a business lunch. Quiet and great ambiance
Very pleasant evening of great food and great service. After a very busy week, I am ready to unwind and be pampered. Ruth’s Chris creates that perfect environment. Their service is purposeful and not hovering. When that service is combined with great food, it is a recipe for perfection!
Mother’s Day dinner. Food was excellent. Service was slightly below normal level of excellence due to high volume of diners. Did not like being seated in overflow area vs main dining room.
Always welcoming and warm atmosphere. Food and service first rate.
Our calamari was over cooked. The 6 oz filet did not seem up to standards with the regular 8 oz filets that I normally get at Ruth’s Chris. I did not care for the shrimp being served on the same dish as my filet. The creamed spinach was excellent as usual. Overall, I was disappointed in the filet and the price I paid. The restaurant didn’t do anything special for Mother’s Day.
Great place to celebrate my Mother's Day! The food was delicious and the service was terrific.
Ruth Chris is our favorite restaurant, if you haven’t been you’re really missing out on something special. The downtown Pittsburgh restaurant is newly remodeled and it really looks great. The service is fantastic, ask for Melissa she’s one of the best there. Start off with the spicy fried lobster as an appetizer. The steaks are unbelievable. They come to your table literally sizzling. If you’re a seafood person the lobster tail is the best I ever had, and it’s huge. The sweet potato casserole, broccoli & au-gratin potatoes are to die for, and please don’t get me started on the lobster mac & cheese (UNBELIEVABLE!) if you like a cocktail with your meal the bar has everything and the drinks are fantastic.
Gotta tell you it can be a little pricey but it’s an dining experience worth every penny.
