Ruth's Chris Steak House - Pier 5 Ratings and Reviews
We went to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse for Thanksgiving dinner. It is in an attractive location at Baltimore's Inner Harbor. We were greeted warmly and the service was quite friendly. The food was not so good. One of us ordered the Thanksgiving Prix Fixe, the other two split a Porterhouse for Two. Neither were very good.
TRuth's Chris never disappoints. Steaks are always done to perfection and one of our guests had the salmon with shrimp and was very happy with her selection.
Our server Brian has been waiting on us for over 4 years and has always been extremely helpful and attentive. We will miss him as he begins a new adventure.
Steak was, of course, outstanding. Appetizers and sides tend to be over-salted, but otherwise decent. Service was excellent. My one genuine complaint about Ruth's Chris is that their wine list, while extensive, is unreasonably overpriced. There are many excellent wines out there for $12 per bottle. Even with the markup, there is absolutely no reason why the wine list cannot contain a $30 bottle (not half-bottle or glass) of fantastic shiraz or cab. And, they have crap for beer. One Heavy Seas beer for a local brew? C'mon, get with it Ruth's Chris.
My husband and I were there for his birthday! Rose petals were dropped on the table for a nice extra touch. The steak was amazing! The sides were just okay to me. But the wine service and the service in general we got from Curtis was so great! He was helpful and Informative and without me even asking he brought out the birthday dessert! And just a little tip, if you’re driving just do valet!
We were sad to see the Water Street Ruth's Chris close, and this was our first experience at the Pier 5 location. We were not disappointed. The service was fantastic - from the hostess stand to our server. And the food is DELICIOUS. I think Ruth's Chris's filets are the best out of all the steak houses.
My wife and I love Ruth's Chris because it is normally so Consistently good . Most of our meal was excellent . Chopped salad , 3.5lb steamed lobster for appetizer , creamed spinach and mushroom sides all excellent . For the 2nd time in a row though the steak was not perfect . I like my steak to rest before cutting . We ordered the Cowboy Ribeye 22 oz Med Rare . after sitting on the hot plate for just a few ( maybe 5 max) the steak was cooked to Medium and although it was well seasoned and still good it did not meet your or my perfect standards . The prior visit they cut our Porter house for two at the table before letting it rest and in my opinion it lost a lot of its juice and quality . I suggest serving your steaks a temperature cooler and letting it finish cooking to the correct temperature on your awesome hot plates .
Don't expect to valet on a concert night! Garage was charging $40, lot parking right by restaraunt was $50 and $60! Manger comped 2 drinks for our inconvenience. Stated that on concert nights they only get limited spaces to valet and were "sol"! Smh. Waitress was average. Not a good first impression
This was my fourth time to this location. I am still impressed with how this location conducts business. I usually order a PORTERHOUSE for TWO, medium rare. This was cooked a tadbit longer than expected. So it was more well done. Everyone has tricky days, so no worries. I will definitely return. Perfect location for PIER 6 attendees.
Their customer service is amazing. I had some issues with needing a later reservation. When they called to confirm my original time they were able to accommodate me with a later time that I needed. We even had exceptional service once we go to the restaurant. The hostess Tanesha was very friendly and personable. Our waiter was very personable, efficient and gave us fantastic service. I would defiantly recommend that location and go back again.
