Ruth's Chris Steak House - Pier 5 Ratings and Reviews
The food was good and I liked the service staff, service was a bit slow and they forgot a few things that we had ordered. Water wasn't refilled often enough, which was needed because the temperature in the restaurant was very warm. But overall still enjoyable and would eat here again.
I made a reservation for your restaurant well before New Year’s Eve. We were a party of 4 and were entertaining my son’s girlfriend from out-of-town. We were seated in an overflow Banquet room right next to the kitchen door. There were 2 large tables in the room and they both had numerous children. We were looking for ambiance but instead felt like we were at Chuck-E-Cheese. I was embarrassed but did not want to ask to be moved because I didn’t want to make my son or his girlfriend uncomfortable. I think that the manager must have felt bad for us because he offered us oven mitts (??) and discount coupons for our next visit. No thank you.
I was really disappointed and to seal the deal, my credit card was misplaced in your restaurant.
Overall our experience was good. We took our family out for a nice dinner to celebrate the holidays. One of my kids had never been to Ruth's Chris. we were really disappointed when after making a reservation, we were taken to what seemed to be an "overflow" room. Very bland, 2 small, very cheap Christmas trees, no artwork on the walls, etc.... I think part of the experience at Ruth's Chris is the atmosphere. And we had none of that. Our food was excellent as was our wait staff, but again we were really disappointed to be seated away from the main dining room. We spent over $400 for a family of four and left disappointed. We won't be coming back to this steak house any time soon.
My family's tradition is to go someplace fancy on Christmas Eve for dinner. Ruth's Chris is on of our favorite spots! This year we had the towering seafood appetizer and it did not disappoint, everything tasted like it was caught that day! If course, the steaks were outstanding, so tender we literally cut them with our forks. The sides are served family style and were quite varied so everyone had items they loved (the potatoes au gratin and roasted brussel sprouts were a favorite). Finally, the service was outstanding, we always had a full drink or anything else we wanted.
The food is overpriced. The wait staff was slow in removing used plates and flatware. The decor was too stuffy making it hard to relax. The steak was good but not amazing. I have had better steak at more reasonable prices. Not a bad restaurant but would not recommend to anyone.
The food was phenomenal. The service was excellent. My only complaint is on the restaurant’s policy to not split checks. I am
Not sure if this is just during the Holidays or all of the time but with today’s technology I don’t understand why it would be difficult to track purchases by guests/couples. It makes it uncomfortable on guests to figure out how much someone owes. Especially when one drinks wine, has dessert, etc and the other couple does not. I doubt I will
Return unless it is just for the 2 of us.
We went to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse for Thanksgiving dinner. It is in an attractive location at Baltimore's Inner Harbor. We were greeted warmly and the service was quite friendly. The food was not so good. One of us ordered the Thanksgiving Prix Fixe, the other two split a Porterhouse for Two. Neither were very good.
TRuth's Chris never disappoints. Steaks are always done to perfection and one of our guests had the salmon with shrimp and was very happy with her selection.
Our server Brian has been waiting on us for over 4 years and has always been extremely helpful and attentive. We will miss him as he begins a new adventure.
Steak was, of course, outstanding. Appetizers and sides tend to be over-salted, but otherwise decent. Service was excellent. My one genuine complaint about Ruth's Chris is that their wine list, while extensive, is unreasonably overpriced. There are many excellent wines out there for $12 per bottle. Even with the markup, there is absolutely no reason why the wine list cannot contain a $30 bottle (not half-bottle or glass) of fantastic shiraz or cab. And, they have crap for beer. One Heavy Seas beer for a local brew? C'mon, get with it Ruth's Chris.
My husband and I were there for his birthday! Rose petals were dropped on the table for a nice extra touch. The steak was amazing! The sides were just okay to me. But the wine service and the service in general we got from Curtis was so great! He was helpful and Informative and without me even asking he brought out the birthday dessert! And just a little tip, if you’re driving just do valet!
