Ruth's Chris Steak House - Pier 5 Ratings and Reviews
We had a great time celebrating my son's graduation from high school. We had been looking forward to this for a few months, and were not disappointed at all. The steaks were the centerpiece of the meal, but the appetizers, sides and desserts also complemented everything wonderfully. My son enjoyed the Cowboy Ribeye, while the rest of us had the Ribeye and Porterhouse steaks. The Cremini Mushrooms and Shoestring Potatoes were also yummy. It was a bit more expensive than our average dining out experience, but absolutely well worth the cost.
We went to Ruth Chris for Mother's Day. We were seated in a side room in another part of the building. I would have preferred to be seated in the main dining room. I noticed that some women had flowers for Mother's Day. When I asked about the flowers, our server, Casey, said that they had run out of flowers. Our reservation was at 5pm so that seemed a bit early to run out of flowers. Casey was very prompt and polite. The dining room we were in was playing Soul/R&B music which seemed odd and out of place for Ruth Chris. I would have expected classical music. As far as the food, my filet was overcooked. I ordered it Medium and it was Medium Well to Well. Overall, the remainder of the other food was very good. The first round of drinks took an extremely long time but everything else came out timely. I would visit again but probably on a slower evening during the week.
Great food, Excellent service Overall great experience
This was the first time my mother had been to the restaurant it was Mother's Day. She really enjoyed everything from the food, service and environment. She can't wait to come back. Thanks for making it speacial for her.
I love this place – great food, outstanding service and a comfortable dining room. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The lobster bisque soup was amazing and the tomato mozzarello salad was refreshing. Everyone loved the sweet potato casserole and lobster mac n cheese. Service was friendly and well-timed .
Ruth Chris has great steaks and superior service. It's a bit pricey but a fine place for business dinners or special occasions. They have a wide variety of sides and appetizers with portions that are large enough to share. Salads are always with the freshest of vegetables. I've been going there for a number of years and will continue to do so.
Staff was very friendly and courteous, but highly unorganized. Moved our table 3 times. Our waitress was very sweet, but the service was dreadfully slow. We were put in a very cold conference style room that was not at all cozy or anywhere near what I'm accustomed to from Ruth's Chris.
As always dining at Ruth's Chris was everything we've come to expect. The meal was the best we've ever had and the ambience was outstanding. We've dined at the Pier 5 location numerous times and will continue dining there whenever in Baltimore.
Believe me, it's not a place we could afford to dine at frequently but isn't that the point. When one wants to have a superior meal with outstanding service it's nice to know a place where one can be assured of having it.
The ambience was decent but not as good as the Water Street location was. The Hostess sat my wife and I at a table intended for eight diners (why?). It also took about ten minutes for someone to come to our table to take our drink orders. Management ended up buying my wife a drink as a way to make it right, which was appreciated. Our waiter, Kevin, was amazing. He was very polite, personable and engaging. If Kevin is waiting on you, you'll enjoy the experience. Overall, the evening was fine but not up to the lofty Ruth's Chris standards that I've grown accustomed to.
It was our daughter's birthday celebration however she was sick but still attended. Carlos the waiter expressed his concern and recommended a lighter fare for her.
Our dinner was delicious as usual and the atmosphere was quiet and tranquil!
This will continue to be one of our favorite restaurants!
I've frequent Ruth Chris many times over the years and they are still consistent with quality food and ambiance. We enjoyed dinner on the outside patio. Only 1 drawback they changed the outside dining location from the back of the restaurant to the front....I wished it was in the back facing the pier. Overall, nice experience.
We were seated at the honeymoon table for our 27th anniversary, service was great. Food was better. Had surf and turf, butter was in heated bowl so every bite of lobster was warm. 8 oz. Filet minion was medium rare, melt in your mouth. Drinks were poured heavy.
My wife and have been wanting to have dinner at this restaurant for some time. Since we do not have this restaurant in our home town (Syracuse,N.Y.) we had to wait until our next trip to Baltimore to finally experience your restaurant. I must say, this was the best steak I have EVER tasted. The meat was seasoned perfectly. The cook made my steak exactly the way I ordered it. The service we received was excellent as well. Even the follow up call (sorry I was on the highway and missed the call) set your establishment apart from ALL others. A very special touch as well was the rose petals placed on our table. I was and continue to be extremely impressed. I will definitely be dining again at Ruth's Chris Steak House. Thank you for the experience.
We have been going to Ruth's Chris for many years and have gone in many different cities and always consistently great service and food -- not the case here. The service was horrendous took 15 minutes to get out first drink, certainly undertrained and understaffed.
When the food finally came after appetizers, the porterhouse for 2 had a hard very thin shell of bark on the outside and the inside was purple not even pink -- very far off from the medium we ordered. After we sent back it returned 10 mins later a bit more burn on the outside and the inside not cooked any further.
Most disappointing experience at a steakhouse I've ever had and I will be staying clear of this place forever and will recommend to all of my friends and colleagues traveling to Baltimore to do the same. In the end, we took the uncooked briquet and handed it to a homeless person -- though I'm sure even he didn't eat it. Save your money, McDonalds would be better and you will leave more satisfied.
I really loved water street Ruth Chris.
Pier 5 had to much happening on the two nights I went for dinner. The last time I went it was a young persons party going on. How do I know this because most of the women had there assess out and the men had sneakers and boots. Don't get me wrong I don't care what a person wear but on this night I brought my mother out for dinner. Water street would not have never let this happen. My waiter was so to friendly my friend is from Baltimore and he knew her so he keep coming the table trying to drum up conversation. She was so feed up until she had to ask if he could let our family have a private dinner. Where did the seasoning go. The prime rib lacked any seasoning or flavor and this is bad for a medium steak that don't need or should I say shouldn't need much to bring out the taste. I am so disappointed with everything I vowed to never go to the Pier 5 Ruth Chris.
Missing Water Street
